I’ll add a warning. ⚠️
This course is difficult. Probably the toughest course in Tucson. No relief in the the desert. Blind shots. Fast and undulated greens. Good shots can get unfair bounces.

On the other hand this course is always in great condition with spectacular views. I love it to test my game. If you sign up bring a few extra balls.

This is an accurate summation.

Will add that the golf course is in much better condition than shown in the winter months.

couldn't stand watching his swing Lmao. those fairways looks nutty, I can see what you mean about hitting a good drive and then the ball disappearing or rolling off into the desert

based on the courses and post round comradery - you guys are doing this thing right!

I posted theses in the live round thread. But seems fitting to repost here.

Super easy to get to also for the Phx guys and @robrandalgz . Take the 10 to 22nd street exit and make a right. Go up the road about 3 miles and the course is on the left. This is not a walkable course also just FYI.

Just so we have something else to talk about. 2022 or 2023 when we challenge a state to take us on in the desert what would our course line up look like. Obviously this will change as we aren't going to start calling around yet. I think timing would have to be end of April so all the spring training is gone and the weather won't scare away that many people. October we run into overseeding.

1. Whirlwind (Cattail and Devils Claw) and Southern Dunes. All three run by Troon and they do have package deals to play all 3 with a stay and play. If there was a fourth course request there is the Raven, Legacy, and the Duke (if 36 in Maricopa). Casino close with decent food offerings in Chandler. Far away from Scottsdale.
2. Wekopa (Cholla and Saguaro) and Eagle Mountain. Close proximity and could stay at casino or find Air BnB in Fountain Hills. A fourth course could be Sunridge Canyon for the sadistic. Can get to Scottsdale pretty easy but could be a pain if staying at Wekopa.
3. Westside! Verrado (Founders and Victory) and Estrella. There is always the wigwam to stay at or use for a 4th course.
4. Scottsdale is really for the nightlife over golf. I guess you could do TPC (Stadium and Champions) and Grayhawk or Wildfire. You can do both courses at Wildfire and TPC Stadium so you play the full LPGA tour and PGA tour stops. I doubt the price would be nice on the Stadium course though. Hell you can add in Camelback there as well. Talking Stick could pair with Camelback well but nobody comes to AZ to play Talking Stick. Maybe a Grayhawk, Ambiente, Talking Stick/TPC/Wildfire could work. Oh and Top Golf is there.
5. North Scottsdale. Troon North, Verde River, Legend Trail, Boulders. You might have to eat dinner at the course. lol

I can't speak to Tucson but I would suspect we would center around Sewailo.

Whirlwind almost makes the most sense. on #3 you could add Sterling Grove to that list as you would probably arrive at SG before you get to Verrado after getting off the highway.

One last thing Catalina BBQ company has a restaurant on site with a great patio. Not the cheapest place to eat but pretty good.

Maybe play the whole course as lateral or play Quota or Stableford so the big scores are taken out of play???

Same for all events for pace of play.....if you're in the desert just drop where it went in and if you're at or going to be net double just pick up. My warning was more for just general enjoyment. This course is hard but just enjoy the day outside at a beautiful course with great guys, don't worry about score.

Need to give the course a final count! Please fill out the Doodle survey above

I love my group. Don't touch it.

And......I've got dibs on MSEASU next month. Make **** happen.

Second post updated with tee times

Small thing, but Title needs to be adjusted. Says GCU
Much appreciated, big thing since it includes the date in addition to location. I keep that current so as the thread turns pages, the tee times are always easy to double check prior to the event.

Looks like we have 2 open slots for the Star Pass league event. April 17th.

Anyone not in the league want to come join us? Good way to test the waters and see what it’s all about.
