Bag Boy Volt Electric Cart

Yes, underside of the lid. However, it's on the small side for most scorecards (so is the Nitron). I've just switched to a yardage book cover in my back pocket for the scorecard.

The scorecard holder is actually inside the storage compartment that is located on the handle. I do not use it but I believe it is on the underside of the lid.

Thanks for the replies. Certainly not a game changer, I usually use Arccos for individual scoring, can certainly keep a card in my pocket.

Can you confirm if a Yeti 30oz rambler will fit in the cup holder? It looks to be the same size as the trim swivel II or Nitron.

Thanks again.

A guy at our club has the Volt and had the large Yeti in it when I saw him last week. The reason I went with an Alphard V2 in 2022 was I prefer the cup holder and overall set up of the handle on my TriSwivel much better than any of the electric carts from MGI or Motocaddy that over 100 members at our club own. I still love the Alphard for its wider wheelbase(superior stability) and have no reason to replace it. I have the advantage of being able to store it at my club in the bag room so don’t have to haul it around in my car. The Volt with it’s familiar cupholder would be at the top of my list if I ever do replace my V2.

Perfect, thanks. I have the same setup - Tri Swivel and V2, nothing wrong with it. I transport mine every time and am a bit tired of breaking it down and setting it up (first world problems, I know). The compact size and weight of the Volt seem perfect, and being able to retain the accessories I already have combined with the cup holder/handle area is a big plus for me. BagBoy said they expect them back in stock late July.

Decision made, can't wait!

when i first got my Nitron back in late 2019, BagBoy offered a bluetooth speaker kit with a mount that attached to the handle similar to the umbrella holder.
my speaker gave up the ghost, but i still have the mount which also fits on my Volt. BagBoy doesn't sell the speaker anymore, does anyone know of something else that will fit in that same holder, or have a different speaker option you're using on a Nitron/Volt frame?

I have that same speaker on my BagBoy cart, and I also received the same speaker as a promotion item from a vendor a few years ago.

That link above looks like the same item, and a "sample" is only $4.95.
I found it on a few other sites too, but you have to order a min. 50 pcs.

What a great walk this morning. We are talking about putting together a walking-only tournament later this year at our club as so many more people have got electric carts.

This is a good climb to an elevated green where the stock tires would slip, especially in the morning dew. The bike tire mod means it runs right up.

Alphard has a competitive model shipping the end of July and is $1,149 for pre-orders. Reading about some of the shortcoming of the Volt hear, I’m tempted to get the Cybercart. 36 hole range from the 37V 236.8 kWh battery and some other well though out features like a magnetic towel landing pad and sand bottle holder.

Any updates from you guys using these?

What are your thoughts on stability @Mikey D and @lambeau?

I'm approaching 80 miles on it and it hasn't tipped over since early in my useage and that was while I was still getting the hang of operating it., so it was all user error. Yes, the front end could use a bit more weight to keep it grounded, but if the wheelie bar is fully extended, I have no issues going up hills or with stability, even if the front wheel is off the ground.

I love it. Absolutely love it.

This cart is lightweight, and the center of gravity is towards the back and fairly high which contributes to the issues people report on tipping. That's the point of compromise with it being so amazingly easy to fold up and pull in and out of my truck, plus the ease of access for pulling the battery for charging. Very similar to Mikey, my skill as a driver is a big factor in avoiding any tips; once I learned what it could and couldn't do there's been no issues. One of the bigger things I've learned with it is to slow down; it's quite fast and driving it full speed reduces stability. I'm walking, so there's no needs for the cart to sprint. I also switched to a Revolver bag that is slightly heavier on the bottom and that has improved performance by reducing wheelies. There are a few guys at my course who have carts on the far other end of the spectrum with the Club Car Tempo Walk. these are low to the ground, big, and will never tip over. And there's no way I'd want to put it in and out of a car - the guys leave them at the course, and it seems these are more targeted as course rental carts. On balance for my needs, the Volt is an ideal electric walking cart: light, quick, easy to steer...and it looks cool.

Thanks boys!

It is with sad feelings that i must say i gave up on the volt. I had another controller failure last week and decided to try something different. The volt was the best laid out design of a cart i have ever seen or used. It had great features and im sure as BagBoy moves forward they will upgrade the electronics to be a better operating unit. The BagBoy company was terrific in helping me handle my issues both times. I can not say anything but good things about their representatives and customer service employees that i dealt with. I wish all of you the best with your Volt. Enjoy the game of golf!

Don't know what to say about your situation. I've got 330+ miles on mine and no problems (yet :) ). If I remember correctly, you've had problems from day one. I think if they had replaced the whole unit at the beginning, it would have been a better solution. Replacing components piecemeal doesn't work when you've got a "lemon". You really don't know what is "wrong" with the unit.
What did you finally wind up with ?

The BagBoy company treated me very good thru this entire process. They were very respectful and things right. They also offered to replace the cart with a brand new cart but i didnt feel comfortable trying another one at this time.
For now i am going back to my bat caddy which doesn't even compare to the Volt. But i know i have reliability with that cart as ive owned it for 5 years. It will just require some extra handling efforts until i decide what to go with. Im leaning towards the MGI Navigator AI GPS model. But t doesnt have some of the key features that the Volt has. The drink holder doesnt compare, theres no sand jar holder built in, its a slight bit heavier. It doesn't have the spacious console like the volt or a storage bag so im not sure what i will end up with.

Alphard Cybercart is another option, just getting into the hands of users this week...............so reviews are limited

Funny this thread popped up as I got an email from BagBoy this morning stating that the Volt is back in stock.

You caught us :ROFLMAO: You guys know how to stay on top of things!

The news is true! The Volt is back in stock. Last time, these carts sold out super quickly, so if you missed out, now’s your chance to grab one before they're gone again.

We’d love to see you enjoying your Volt, so share your photos here or tag us on Instagram for a chance to get a shout-out.

Here's the link to check it out. Happy golfing!

is it bad that when I use the motocaddy I think about the Volt? Cool to see it's back in stock.

No I don't think so at all, it's really freakin cool.

@tucsondivots
That was my thought and the reason i told them No when they offered a new one to replace mine. I did enjoy the Volt but its truely not ready for all courses. The cart has mqny great features that other carts including the navigator AI doesnt have. But the wheel function when turning plus the 2 controllers going bad for me just never sat well. I would have never trusted the unit again.
I did order the navigator AI now and should have it by the end of the week. I was truly impressed with the way the MGI carts handle the hills and also the Gyro tracking. They actually dont fall to the low side of hills and they climb and stay on line as hey go. Unfortunately the AI doesnt have the perks that a Volt has. If i was playing a flat course wiuld defnately have atayed with the volt. But on the hilly terrain of my club the perks arent as important as the climbing and turning ability.
I did ask the BagBoy customer service if they could get me an MGI as they use to carry them but they have no connection anymore.
I will miss the storage bag, the bag locking system, the large centered cup holder, the compact folding and the large console.
