I’m headed to Bandon in July and there’s some debate among the group: should we play the new Shorty’s course, or just replay one of the big courses?

I’ve read through multiple threads on here but figured I’d put it to a poll.

On one hand, I don’t want to fly all the way across the country to be hitting putter off the tee on multiple holes. On the other hand, I’ve heard it’s a gem.

I would play it on one of the days you might be a bit tired. In between days when you are playing two rounds.

golf trips should be fun.
this sounds fun.

Played it last year. None of us thought it was worth it and aren't playing it this year

I would say Preserve > Shorty's, Big course > Par 3 courses. This would all be dependent on the group and desire to maximize the golf. When I go to Bandon, I go hard so typically 2 rounds and 1 Par 3 course.

I have played the preserve a few times but never Shorty's. I would play it if I went back today because it is the only course I haven't played.

That being said if you make Shorty's the first round of the day your next round on a big course will be discounted. Just a thought.

Shorty's and Preserve don't work for the discount.

I read that as saying the rates on Shorty's and The Preserve don't change not that it doesn't count as a round for the next replay rate. I know I have used this method to get replay on a big course in the past.

Don't think they let us get a discount last year when we went Shortys then big course, but I could be wrong. In general I didn't care for Shortys and we aren't playing it this year. Was just too gimmicky for me. Would have rather saved the $100 or spent that in the pro shop
