I saw Slayer and Slipknot at the same show. I feared for my life. LolGeneral Admission fighting my way to the front row for literally every band that ever meant anything to me. This was back in the 80's 90's where that **** was actually doable. Only time I ever feared for my life at a show like that was at SLAYER for the Reign in Blood Tour. I was a scrawny little 14 year old kid and that place was OUT OF HAND. When Tom Araya asked the crowd "Do you wanna die"? that place went f***ing nuts! It was terrifying. Still one of the best shows I've ever seen.
Yeah, they both put on a brutal show. Can't remember if they were both on the same Mayhem Fest bill or not but I've seen them both on the Mayhem fest, too. Just don't remember if they were on the same bill. I used to take my kids to Mayhem Fest every year so they all kinda run together.I saw Slayer and Slipknot at the same show. I feared for my life. Lol
Saw that same tour in Denver, CO. Metallica was opening on their Master of Puppets tour. Cliff Burton was killed a few months later. So glad I got to see him before he passed.9th row at Ozzy's Ultimate Sin tour in Tokyo. Hit Jake E. Lee with my brush
Would have loved to see the Bangles. My band used to do a kick ass hard rock version of Hazy Shade of Winter (that guitar line was built for it). Always had a ton of respect for those ladies. We go to a lot of concerts at the casino venues, which are smaller and more intimate. Had front row seats for Boston, the B-52’s (twice), the Bangles, and Berlin. 5th row for Dwight Yoakam, 1st row for Little River Band.
At the B-52’s concert my friend’s kid had Fred Schneider give him the drumstick he used to play cowbell during Rock Lobster, and then the drummer gave him a pair of sticks at the end of the concert.
I can see where Hazy Shade of Winter could work for that.Would have loved to see the Bangles. My band used to do a kick ass hard rock version of Hazy Shade of Winter (that guitar line was built for it). Always had a ton of respect for those ladies.
I saw them at the Tattoo the Earth Festival like in 2000 or 2001. The headliner for that one show at Giants Stadium? Metallica. Also Sepeltura and Sevendust. Crazy show.Yeah, they both put on a brutal show. Can't remember if they were both on the same Mayhem Fest bill or not but I've seen them both on the Mayhem fest, too. Actually, it should have been Kirk. Cliff demanded Kirk's bunk in the bus that night and Kirk gave it to him. The rest, as they say, is history.
Brother, that girl has been in the spank bank for decades.I can see where Hazy Shade of Winter could work for that.
And I was still as in love with Susanna Hoffs as I was back in the ‘80s!
Great lineup! I saw Sevendust open for Slayer in Casper, WY of all places. Only time I saw Sepultura was when they were sandwiched between Prong and Pantera at Red Rocks. I assumed there would be much of a pit at an amphitheater carved out of stone. I couldn't have been more wrong.I saw them at the Tattoo the Earth Festival like in 2000 or 2001. Still wanna see Jimmy........I won tickets from Radio Margaritaville one year and was 2nd row center. I also saw a group called the iguanas spring break in Panama City, FL in ‘91 or ‘92 and we got there early and we were up by the stage. Jimmy Buffett was their label and he showed up and did 3 songs.
You better hurry. He might be singing Maragaritaville from a wheel chair soon. He was “old” when I saw him in ‘92Still wanna see Jimmy........
