Best irons -6’4” player

A well fit set of irons will serve him well for quite a while. Unless he becomes a member here, in which case he’ll want a new set every 6 months. 😂

well thats the key is it fitting him well.. its expensive but doesn't have to be $2k a set. A lot of great iron sets for just over half of that. Plus he can use them for years to come
 
FWIW, my son in law is 6’8” and likes one length irons. I can’t remember the brand but I know they’re not Cobra. Might be worth a thought. I ended up adding 2” extensions to his wedges and 3” to his putter.

Some days I’m glad to be 5’9”

Lmao. That’s so true! For now he’s a tad busy in clinical rotations and studying not Boards. But hey, maybe he could trade virtual PT services for golf club discounts once he graduates in May! LOL
 
Height of a player really has nothing to do with getting clubs that would be correct for him. there are some tall guys playing short clubs and players playing longer than standard club. We are all different for various reasons. I am 6'3" with long arms - as in 37 -38 inch sleeve length in shirts. I play standard length or even 1" short is ok. Keep in mind the longer the club the harder it is to hit

His uncle was 6’0”. My son is 6’4”-6’5”. Are there any particular brands that fit taller people better? I saw PING had different color levels? I know. I know. He needs to get fitted. He’s in the final stages of his doctorate program and once he’s done I wanted to get him set up with irons.

Definitely a fitting is in order. I got my kid fitted for a set of irons for one degree... the results were so amazing I had to take him back and get the rest of the bag. Two weeks after the clubs arrived he shot his first even par round. Don't know how I can top that when he gets his doctorate (psychologist). He does like to fish, but I am NOT buying him a boat...........
