Someone needs to tell Brandel that Quail Hollow has sub-air under their greens like Augusta National. He spent several minutes during the highlights of Jhonathon Vegas's round attributing many of his good shots to soft greens. Apparently, he wasn't aware that the greens stayed really firm both Thursday and Friday because they we able to pump out the moisture. I've always like Brandel although he can be very abrasive sometimes in his comments. Maybe he wasn't trying to minimize the performance of Vegas but it sure came off that was too me.

I dislike Brandel a lot. He's a pretentious, bloviating a-hole and I cannot wait for the day he "retires."

Brandel is the original douche canoe.

Once in a while he can come up with an interesting thought. Most of the time he does his job well - that of being over analytical.

I can't stand that a-hole, never even pay attention to him, he thinks he is the best thing to ever come down the pipe.

Because who would put a cheap sub air system on a course that smells like Kim Kardasian and doesn’t have a soul and all that stuff?

🤣

I actually like all of his analytics. Anybody ever do any fact checking on him? How often is he right?
He does come off very self righteous but that’s him!

Funny thing was everyone on golf channel said to him only the biggest bombers would have a chance which there’s definitely definitely some ones in the mix who can put it out there but they wouldn’t be a bomber. He goes off the deep end but sometimes but he does have some good points.

It starts with his name ….. Brandel Chamblee

You know it could have been Bill or Bob or Joe … yeah , na - it’s Brandel ….

Granted his talent took him to playing the game at highest level … that’s doesn’t translate into
Providing fact and debate in less than 500 words not including yourself ….

I struggle with the Tournament Previews , of Masters etc and he sits in the middle pontificating …..

We have slow play by players , when he speaks you know you can do lots of other things and not feel like you’re missing out …..

Brandel knows exactly what he’s doing. Johnny Miller, Simon Cowell ect. He critiques and is polarizing. It’s all an act. Good for him because it does work.

I’m not sure it does work. Ratings, outside of majors can’t be good for GC. When it’s a regular tour event it’s boring and stuffy. During a major week he just does his act for ratings. I’d love to see younger, fresher faces on GC. I watch very little of it and I’m probably their demo. Older, have time to watch. The network itself sucks.

I ignore Brandel whenever he’s on. Ugh, what a bad of flatulence

Yet here we are with a thread about him. Regardless of how anyone feels about him he continues to be a topic of conversation. As long as that’s the case he will continue to be who he is.

This. It’s his job to be a jerk.

The ratings are low because golf on tv is boring. It’s background noise for those with nothing to do on weekends.
The rare exception being a Major that plays out like the final round of this year’s Masters and that isn’t going to be shown on the GC.

I wonder how much of it is he plays the role or his views the way he does to be the Miller or guy you love to hate analyst.

Got to play in a pro-am with him a number of years ago and could not ask for a nicer guy. Super friendly and talkative with the group and in no way did it ever seem like it was a chore to be doing it. Saw him two days later in a tournament round with my wife and he stopped and chatted for a minute with no prompting. This was a number of years ago and played with a number of pros but have today he was the most friendly by a lot.

I watch lots of golf. I don’t watch anything on the golf channel other than the golf. I don’t watch one second of any previews or wrap ups.

I like him. Is he opinionated-sure, but so are most folks on this forum. While he is not going to the hall of fame he did compete on the highest level. He does his research and while you might not agree with some of his statements I believe he comes up with some good facts to support his argument. . He might have some crazy takes every now and then, and at times can be off putting, but that is part of the entertainment value. Rather listen to him then Andy North.
