You go grab a new loaf of bread. Do you eat the heel first or do you skip past it to grab a regular slice.

Straight to the middle.

Skip it.

The Minister is a lunatic and eats it.

Sometimes I'll just throw away the crust and the first piece.

Skip it

Regular slice first. Ends are always last and only eaten out of pure necessity.

I won’t throw it out. I do however skip to the 2nd regular slice.

I am one who is likely to go to the middle unless it’s a crusty loaf of French, Italian or Sourdough bread. Then, I may eat the heel first.

I go in order- heel then next piece, I’m not a heathen.

Freshly baked, always cut the end off and loads of butter, to ensure quality.

Where did this heel name come from?

Same, I go heel first.

Heel, first in to the trash, then eat the normal not crap end parts of the bread.

Skip it. Ill use it if thats all thats left, but only after the rest of the loaf is exhausted.

I don't eat bread like that. The bread I eat is minimally processed french bread that I buy in single 'sticks' is that the right word? Idk.

No heel. Save it for the end in case of desperation

Skip.

Heel is for French toast day.

The last two slices of bread in the bag are the heels. They only get consumed if French toast or some other cooking calls for bread.

No idea, i can’t recall the last time we had ordinary sliced bread in the house.

But toasted on a sandwich or with butter. I’ll take the heel.

Eat the heel. I wish every other since was the heel.

Good question.
