Bridgestone ELECTRON Golf Balls

I absolutely applaud this release! Echoing what others have said, I so appreciate Bridgestone using data to innovate and bring to market a golf ball aimed to make golf more enjoyable for the next generation. Love this idea!

What a smart move by Bridgestone. Helps younger golfers, and gets them used to playing Bridgestone balls when they are young. This should pay dividends for them big time

I love this idea, anything to make the game more enjoyable for the young golfer!

That's a good point that I hadn't considered. You hear all the time about pros playing ProV because that's what they started with as a youth. This could bode well for the Tour B line in the next decade if people stick with the brand.

I like the messages they're conveying with the side stamps, and the price point is attractive for parents buying golf balls for their kids. I also agree that there are plenty of adult golfers who may benefit from a ball like this and would be attracted by the price point.

After being around the First Tee and Jr PGA programs for a while now I think Bridgestone missed the mark here.

They should have used a bright matte color finish. Virtually every kid on those circuits uses a matte ball in yellow, pink, orange, green etc.

I saw some preteens, and maybe early high school kids on the putting green last night. Every ball they were putting with was a super bright colored matte ball.

We always applaud innovation and bringing items to market that are unique. Bridgestone Golf announcing a new golf ball doesn’t necessarily fit into that statement, as this is a yearly occurrence and the company is at the forefront of technology. Yet this ball, which might slip under the radar for some, caught our attention. Introducing […]

Cool idea, and I like products that are meant to get people into the sport at a young age to build lifelong golfers.

Also, I like the blue one. Haha

Great Idea! Love the Box also.

Interesting. Youth ball. Way to go.

Shocking to see this release (I’m not apologizing for that). Cool idea

That’s certainly a step in the right direction!

My favourite Bridgestone ball, the e9, was introduced in white-only, with pink, orange, and yellow versions released later.

If the Electron ball is well-received, perhaps we'll likewise see it available in multiple colours.

Such a great idea and move by Bridgestone. I read this and immediately thought “how has nobody else thought to do this yet?”

I wonder if this might be a good ball for some senior golfers?

Going to get a dozen of these for my kids to try out!

Was just reading about the Electron at the Golf Digest website. The 29 April article there mentions that the ball is designed for a high launch and has a compression rating of 43, which would be appropriate for most senior golfers.

The Bridgestone rep quoted in the article didn't mention anything about spin, though. Hopefully, someone here will give one a try soon and report on the spin tendencies.

This was my thought as well.

Really cool concept. May need to get some for my kiddos.

My son wants to try them. He normally plays q star tour so I can give a comparison

I was wondering the same thing myself, and then the article mentioned the Precept Laddie, which is the ball I play! The brand began its life as the Precept Lady. Some older golfers discovered that it really worked for them, but when asked why they played a ball labeled "Lady" they would say, "Oh no! That says Laddie!" In short order the Precept Laddie hit the market. When I saw that it indicated to me that Bridgestone was a manufacturer that listened, and responded to, its customer base. So, I thought that, at the price point they occupied, that I might as well try some.

I loved them right off the bat. I've tried other low compression balls that felt mushy and went nowhere. The Precepts feel responsive and fly really well, especially in colder weather when high compression balls can feel like rocks. And if you hit an approach shot properly, they will spin enough to hold a green, at least on the courses I play. I just purchased a fresh "Double Dozen", 24 balls for $25.99 + tax! A hair over a buck a ball. I don't lose many balls, but when I do it's kind of nice to not see 4 bucks sailing into the tall and uncut!

I remember reading about the Precept Lady/Laddie and how popular it was. Are you going to give the Electron a try? I'm kinda curious about the ball myself.

My son wanted to try them so I got him some when we got him new golf shoes.
