Bridgestone Golf MINDSET Visual Technology

Anxiously waiting for test balls to arrive but being in Canada expect slight delay. Have a lot of golf coming up as rain is finally slowing down from being a daily activity. Perfect time to get in a solid consecutive 4 week hard core testing. Crossing fingers they will show up soon.

Well having a great round yesterday then proceeded to get a triple and a double on 17 and 18. When I got home last night these bad boys were waiting for me.
Will try to put them in play this weekend. Hoping going through the mindset protocol stops my last round mental lapses.IMG_5112.jpeg

USPS says my balls should arrive today. Since I don't play on weekends, weather permitting, Monday will be my first test of the RXS.

Stupid Canada, takes us longer to receive things. I just assume our customs agents are using these balls right now

Look, just a comment here but if you see ANY reviews that are like

"Um , i love these balls, they help me focus-----Canadian Customs Agent"

Do NOT like the post. These are MY balls!
Well, I’m still waiting in TX too. I believe this is also Canadian Customs fault but I haven’t been able to connect all the dots yet.

But I’m very happy for all the people that have received theirs and am definitely not stewing with a smoldering jealousy that is quietly eating up my insides.

This stinks but you have Swiss Chalet... and better creamers for Tim Hortons... and Coffee Crisp.

I get USPS updates daily on what is coming in, Says i have a Package from covington Ga arriving by 9PM tonight. I would have to believe that mine are doming in. I have a tee time this afternoon and also one for 1 pm tomorrow afternoon. Should be a good time to try them out as long as they move through the last stop on the way.....

Mine arrived last night. With the weather not looking good, it might be next week before I can get them on the course. I've been thinking about how I'm going to approach this review process, since I won't be able to hit the course for a few days. I'm believe I'm going to focus on the mental side at first, several times a day I'm planning on practicing my setup, go through the process of picking a target and visualize the shot, using the Mindset routine. My thinking is that, when I get to the course I won't have to think about the process, as the immortal Coach Klein says, visualize and attack!
A little about me as a golfer, I'm 60 years old, in fairly good shape and play 2 sometimes 3 times a week. I play at a 14 handicap but I feel like I'm hitting the ball better so I hope I'll be trending down soon.
I'm really looking forward to trying the Mindset process, I'm going in with an open mind to see if this can really help me stay focused.

Chat me up about the Tour B X golf ball with MINDSET visual technology. @BigDill uses the Tour B X golf ball, so I want to get used to it before October.

Was at the simulator again today. I did a better job at clearing my mind on step 3 and just focused on the ball. Even though in a simulator, Step 1 I selected the club I wanted to hit; my step 2 is where I changed it up a little and thought about my swing thoughts as well as the direction of the ball and took a practice swing or two. Now Step 3 I just lined up the ball, cleared my head, and just focused on the green dot and swung. And I hit some solid shots that I was impressed with.

Might hit the sim tomorrow again, but playing 18 on a more challenging (for me) course on Sunday to really test this ball/strategy out.

Getting ready to head out for my first round with the MindSet RX ball. Looking forward to trying both the MindSet shot preparation steps and this new version of the Tour B RX that I have not tried yet.

Tough to say without getting the balls on the course, but for step 3, are you guys honing in on completely clearing your mind, focusing on a swing thought or two? Something else?

All these posts popping up with people getting their packages got me all excited! I ran out yesterday to my mailbox as soon as I got home and was met with pure and utter sadness when all that was in there were a couple pieces of junk mail....

Hopefully today or tomorrow will be the day! I don't have a round scheduled until Sunday morning so I'm hopeful mine will come soon so I can put them straight to the test!

Happy testing all, having never really played a Bridgestone ball and taking a flier on one that adds a touch more spin has me super curious as to what I will see and how much of a difference my experience will be coming from the Srixon XV.

For me it's completely clearing the mind, but I've never been a big swing-thought guy anyway. Over the years my one swing-thought has been "low and slow" on my takeaway, then I just let it happen, but I'm not even thinking that anymore. Not that I'm always successful by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm doing pretty well just focusing on my breathing a bit then clearing my mind before starting the swing.

Hoping to get them out on Sunday, but will definitely put them in play next week.

Hoping mine arrive before I leave for a golf trip Monday. If not I still face some from those that I purchased. I used an RX mindset for this mornings round.

Still working on swing changes so having something to make me focus on a routine helps. Let’s just say I’m having trust issues with new neutral toward in to out path. Going thru routine helps to overcome the straight down the line face closed pull. Does it always work no. @Jman can attest to this with my tee shots on 15 today. Yes I said tee shots as in more than one. Target was right side of fairway bunker on left side of fairway. Visualized and vocalized then a hard pull thru fairway. Followed by a shot that was just as visualized.

Another test today was first time testing it as an alignment aid. Can say that this might be the last time I use it as an alignment aid. Might give it a try on practice green. I don’t normally use any type of alignment aid so trying to use mindset logo as an alignment aid caused issues with my normal putting routine. I became to focused on logo and not my routine.

So as a golfer in general, I have played the Bridgestone RX a good amount. I am a higher spin player, and while I have strong driver clubhead speed, I prefer to give up a small amount of total driving distance for better iron performance, which I see with the BRX over the BX.

For the mindset thought process, I've actually always done steps 1 and 2, and try to visualize all my shots including intended shot shape....so this ball will not do much for me there. Where I do find it interesting, is I do also TRY to do step 3, but trying to focus on specific dimples as I go through my swing. This is sometimes helpful sometimes distracting oddly enough, and I am curious if I can use the green dot with any success off the tee and on the greens.

I typically do not use the alignment on the ball at all when putting or off the tee, so that will be an adjustment, but I will give it a go for these.

@Jank - today I did. First time on the simulator I had my swing thoughts on step 3 when focusing on the ball. Today, I had my swing thoughts on steps 1 and 2 when picking the club and visualizing the ball path. then on step 3, I just focused on the ball. Its still hard for me to do, but try to reduce the # of swing thoughts. I sometimes have 3-4 on a swing, and I know that is not good for me.

I will provide some insight for you tonight or tomorrow morning. I am planning on playing 9 holes with only one Tour BX 🙏 tonight.

Balls arrived just in time last night for my Friday round!

Little bit about me:
Currently carrying an 11.7 hcp. I have played a variety of balls over the years but before receiving these was playing Pro-V1x. I’m not a long hitter by any means but I like a firmer golf ball. I chose the Tour B X. I definitely play more of a controlled strategic style of golf off the tee. But inside of 110-130 yards I’m firing at any pin placement that is presented. Putting, my wedges and short game are my strengths.

As far as the Mindset goes? Identify/Visualize/Focus. I think it’s a solid idea. Time will tell on how much I will use it. Today’s round was really about getting to know the ball itself from a performance standpoint. And I liked it. Very much so. I haven’t played a Bridgestone since the E6 back in the day. This model has all the feel and performance I could want. This one likes to go! Bit of a lower ball flight than what I’m used to but I saw some distance gains with the longer clubs for sure. I’ll be working the Mindset routine in this week so more to come for sure.

Bridgestone Tour B XS Mindset Gollf Ball: Meet the Tester & Initial Thoughts

I received a notification that my Tour B XS Mindset golf balls were due to arrive at my house today. Before getting into the testing, I wanted to introduce myself and give my initial thoughts on Mindset and how they can apply to my specific game as well as the masses.

My name is Mike, and I am a 2.9 index currently. I play a decent competitive tournament schedule every year as well as belonging to a local club. I’ve been playing golf for the past 16 years and innovation within golf has always been something that intrigues me. I am one to try anything if I think it will improve my game, even incrementally.

Mindset Thoughts

When testing a golf ball, I really enjoy going through the language from the manufacturer on what they’re trying to accomplish. Mindset is set out for us as three steps.

INDENTIFY YOUR TARGET, VISUALIZE THE SHOT PATH, FOCUS ON THE DOT

Sounds simple enough! But let’s dive in a little bit.

Identifying your target involves gathering information such as where is my target? What is the distance? How much wind is there? Etc. etc. I like how this is the outer and largest ring because I feel this step will represent taking in the big picture. As a golfer, we must qualify as much as the information we can to execute the best shot possible. If I gave you only the distance without any target, you wouldn’t be able to execute your best shot on a consistent basis. Sure, you might get lucky, but information is our friend. Big Ring -> Big Picture!

Step 2 is to visualize the shot path. We’ve seen Jason Day before closing his eyes before a shot visualizing the result, and other pros have talked about seeing that shot happen in their mind before swinging. This is the medium ring, and to me represents closing in our focus. Step 1 involved a lot of information in a relatively short amount of time. Now we are taking what we learned from step 1 which made our decision on what to hit and are closing in on the shot shape and what we will do to make that happen. I imagine in my pre shot routine this step will be as I’m making my practice swings. Mimicking the swing I will be making to execute the shot in my mind. Medium Ring - > Closing in our Focus!

The final step is to focus on the dot. It’s small and centered within the rings. I personally, take “focus on the dot” and morph it into focus on the spot! The spot is my target. I’ve done my information gathering in step 1, and I’ve locked in the feelings and visualizations in step 2 on how I will execute this shot, and now that I’ve gone through my routine it’s time to focus on the spot of my target and nothing else. EXECUTE! Dot -> Spot -> EXECUTE!

These steps, while maybe reading a little long in written form, will happen in a pretty quick amount of time. I don’t think following a routine like this will slow down a golfer. It will only get more efficient the more it is practiced. I try and use steps like this in my own game currently. What I’m hoping Mindset will do is help me remember to fully execute these steps on the 10% of shots I may have a round where I lose focus. It happens, even the pros would probably self asses themselves as not fully focused through every shot.

Excited to go through full testing with this ball and bring you all along on the journey.

Based on where these are coming from and where they have been ariving, I would imagine us on the west coast will be looking at Monday at the earliest and likely Tue/Wed. But that is pure conjecture on my part. Seeing the initial thoughts has me excited as I have a couple rounds planned for next weekend.

@MtlJeff

Well, well, well. Looks like my balls took a little detour after all. I knew something was up. Unbelievable!

Kidding aside these showed up today and I can’t wait to get them on the course! This is going to be fun. 😎

I‘m really pumped to get these out on the course. I played a found Bridgestone X recently and really liked it, but as a current ProV1x player I typically need a little help with height and spin. I think the XS will be a much better fit for my game. I liked the firmness of the X and am hoping these have a similar feel. Will keep everyone posted.

My box of Tour B RX Mindset arrived today. Excited to get them on the course and get to testing. I have been looking at the ball marker that I received quite a bit and I think I already have some idea how it could help my game. Obviously don't want to go into testing with preconceived expectations, but I'm excited by the potential. I'm also excited because I think B RX might be more the right ball for me than what I'm currently playing.
