This looks more in line with what I expected (to fall between the two). These seem reallllly close to one another.

Agreed. I think its certainly in that same realm.

@jdtox the ball is making on course debut at Ballyhack yeah?

And finally the driver. Stock setup with 10.5* DS ADAPT X and Mitsubishi BB shaft

Obviously location of impact affects spin numbers so take these with a grain of salt, I was in a hurry to get it finished at this point. The first Chrome Tour swing wasn't great and is affecting those numbers a bit, but I was only taking 3 swings at this point to get done.

Just based off this quick data, I think the VS Black would play very well for me on course

Here is some data from testing yesterday. I compared Chrome Tour, ProV1x and the VS Black. I hit 5 shots with each ball and removed the worst one for comparison purposes. Pretty interesting stuff.

These shots are all with a King Tec 7i.View attachment 9388435
Interesting..

Off a wedge yes but it was lower spinning off a 7iron
Yeah, I was just seeing that. Little decoupling happening..

Then again slightly more.. Hmmm... Very curious here. I am planning on doing a similar test today.. Will be fun to see the comparison.

Again impact location is going to affect things I'm certainly not a robot and was pretty tired by the time I got to driver and was just swinging

Dang - very compelling indeed.

Yeah, I was wondering that as well. But still in this set, it was higher spinning. Barely, and still well within what I think is a good range.

I brought a sleeve to test the next few days or as long as they last at Ballyhack haha so will have some on course feedback at some point.

I think crispy is a really good word. Very similar to how I'd explain the VS Black feel and the Chrome Tour TD in putting specificially.

Different balls, but I'm finding the Blue VS to fall between a couple favorites - a bit more firm than ProV1, but less so than ProV1x. Same with spin I'm seeing on chip shots - great stuff so far.
I need to compare it to the Chrome Tour X, but I forgot them on my table at home. But I bet they are going to feel similar.

Snuck out of work early for some on course testing

I know you played Tour BX for a good bit. I'm curious if your feels of the VS Black is firmer/softer? More or less 'clicky' on full shots with irons and driver.

Through 7 and I really like the feel of the VS Blue. Noticeable differences between it and the Chrome Tour. Making notes as I go for more in depth later

I got the chance to try out the VS Black ball on the course today. First impression, WOW! This ball is amazing and genuiely think it is a major upgrade from the Bridgestone Tour BX. Overall, this ball is a lot more durable in my opinion than previous Bridgestone balls. As you guys can see in the picture, these are the only marks it has after 14 holes of playing with them. Compared to the Pro V1, which I played also with today, the VS Black feels a lot more firm with all clubs and launch slighty lower than the Pro V1. I used to like playing the Tour BX in college for its firmness and low launch since my swing already give me a mid-high trajectory. The main difference I have observe is the spin with irons and wedges. Compared to the Pro V1, I can generate a lot more spin with the VS Black so far. This is definetly something I will keep tracking since, for me, spin a the main factor I look in a ball before playing it.

I will be playing and practicing more over the weekend. I will be testing chipping and putting with the VS Black and examinate more in depth its firmness and control around the greens.

As I said before, I am loving this ball so far. If people in here plays the Bridgestone Tour BX or used to play it, the Bridgestone VS Black is definitely an upgrade so far and can surely find its place in my bag!

First impressions of the VS Red.

I hit partial wedges. (75 yard target with 54*). 8i and 5H full swings. 6 foot putts on my mat.

Head to head with Chrome Tour. On my ST+. So indoors where sound is booming.

The two balls preformed very similar. Which say a lot to me. Since I really love the Chrome Tour. The only separation I found during this brief testing was with the partial wedges.

With the partial wedges I felt that the VS Red felt softer and had a more muted sound. I saw about 500 rpm more spin too. Averaging 8000rpm on this 75-80 yard target.

With all the rest I had a hard time discerning differences between these two. I find that interesting to say the least.

Received my assigned Bridgestone VS Red Prototype balls today. Already dark and raining so no opportunity for heading out to the putting green and short game area. I duplicated some shots here but who doesn't love looking at a prototype. The packaging is pretty nice and polished for something that could change. I do love the simplicity of the packaging and the graphics on the ball. The card requesting feedback includes a bar code and there is a giveaway entered with your submission. The obverse include a THP logo; pretty sweet. Thank you Bridgestone! The ball gives similar visual cues familiar to those playing other models, and the fimple pattern looks typical of Bridgestone balls. Sleeves and the bottom ot the box are marked with a confidentiality message. It definitely adds to the whole testing experience in my opiniion. Can't wait to get the VS Red in play.

Well sim data plans get jacked up. There is a league going.

But they needed an extra so I am putting it in play in the sim league lol..

I got home late last night so early morning photo shoot with the VS Red prototypes.

Visually they look good to my eye. The white is bright and no hint of yellow or pale blue. Personally I like the red used for the numbers better than the red on the alignment line. But that’s low hanging fruit.

If all goes well I’ll get out to the practice green and roll some afternoon putts with these. Testing them there against my gamer CT.

Agree with you on the color between the number and VS Red. Low hanging fruit but hope they make them the same color. Just takes that premium look away a tad.
