100% agree. Something I can definitely look past, because I only ever use the alignment aid on longer putts.I think thats fair feedback, especially coming from a Triple Track. Regardless of alignment aide, I've been very impressed with the VS Blue so far - I like longer lines as well, but the feel / performance has been stellar so far.
I've tried using sharpies to draw lines but it always smudges or comes off throughout the round. It's an option, but it's much more convenient to buy the ball with it already there.Dumb question - can you not just draw a line? Obviously you'd rather purchase a ball already with one, but I'm curious how the testers that strongly prefer a longer line / aide will be going about this review.
Heard - totally get it. I go back and forth on lines - I actually really like the small line on this one but totally understand how others prefer something more substantial.I've tried using sharpies to draw lines but it always smudges or comes off throughout the round. It did for me on the last two wedge shots, it’s what proceeded me to grab out a CT3D out. Confirmed it…but something my next time out I will be focused on.The Red felt firmer than the CT3D?
Back when I played Bridgestone a lot, I used to go back and forth between RX and RXS. If I'm going by that mindset of keeping those color lines aligned. I know I'm in a ball that should fit me in many respects. Now let's have some fun.Hahahaha I actually bet you were supposed to be Red…but it works out
Yeah, that is interesting. It will be something I focus on a bit more as well.It did for me on the last two wedge shots, it’s what proceeded me to grab out a CT3D out. Confirmed it…but something my next time out I will be focused on.
Definitely let me know.Yeah, that is interesting. It will be something I focus on a bit more as well.
I only say that since two staff are in green and one of the green testers got red. But it will work out for everyone! Even numbers across the board!Back when I played Bridgestone a lot, I used to go back and forth between RX and RXS. If I'm going by that mindset of keeping those color lines aligned. If the pervious colors align with the new VS proto, maybe that is how the Blue vs. red should perform. Since X and RX are on the "distance" side and XS and RSX were on the "Spin" side.Definitely agree on the wedges from what I saw on course. I think it’s going to show a pretty big jump on irons as well for me. Ball flight was noticeably higher and a couple seemed to balloon a touch and come up a little shorter than expected. Tough to say for sure because the wind was up so it will be nice to get on a monitor.
Makes me wonder if the ball colors are mixed up from what you would think they would be to throw people off. lol.Definitely let me know.
everything works outI only say that since two staff are in green and one of the green testers got red. But it will work out for everyone! Even numbers across the board!
I like the small line on this one. I plan to see how it works on the back of the ball as a point of impact during my putting stroke tomorrow.Heard - totally get it. I played both the VS Black and the Tour BX yesterday during my round. I played the Tour BX for about 3 holes just to compare in real time in real conditions.I know you played Tour BX for a good bit. I'm curious if your feels of the VS Black is firmer/softer? More or less 'clicky' on full shots with irons and driver.
It is probably on the firm side of the most popular tour balls out there, but I did not find it as firm as the AVX, for example. It has a really good feedback of the clubs.Crispy is ok…once we get firm I’m out.
I absolutely LOVE to hear this. If there was one very small and minor complaint I had with BX is that it felt a little too firm for my liking. Not enough so for me to not play it I gamed it all year last year. The VS Black played softer than the Tour BX to me, and I am fairly confident in that opinion. I found the VS Black to have better feel overall, and much preferred it. I noticed mostly off the driver and the putter. it is certainly less "clicky" than the Tour BX.
I don't think the VS Black is "soft", but I do think the feel is improved
That's interesting to me as I think the AVX feels like a pillow. I loved the BX so the black would be the ball I'd likely look at first. It is probably on the firm side of the most popular tour balls out there, but I did not find it as firm as the AVX, for example. if you are a life-ling Chrome Soft player, then the VS Black will have a firmer feel, for sure. I need to compare it to the Chrome Tour X LS because I think they are going to feel really similar with respect to firmness.
This is interesting. Maybe the premium lineup is getting some of the E12 splash RPL-X cover treatment?Fall golf in Florida brings in a lot of moisture in the mornings and one thing that stood out was how the VS Red golf ball interacted with that moisture on shots off the fairway or rough. Interestingly I didn’t see the ball launching higher, which is typically what I will see when moisture is on the golf ball or club face. That to me is a plus, because most rounds I play are in the morning where dew is an issue. Would be interesting to know if the covering of the golf ball has something to do with that.
I don't think i am mis-remembering, but I recall those being one of the firmest golf balls I tried when it first came out. That's interesting to me as I think the AVX feels like a pillow. I loved the BX so the black would be the ball I'd likely look at first.
I will give it another test this weekend, but I am fairly sure what I felt will stand true. It is firmer than the Chrome Tour, for certain. But it felt softer than the most recent version of the Tour BX.I absolutely LOVE to hear this. If there was one very small and minor complaint I had with BX is that it felt a little too firm for my liking. Not enough so for me to not play it I gamed it all year last year.
But if there was one thing I could change it would have been to make it just ever so slightly softer feeling.
Chrome Tour is too soft for my feels so I'm still loving what I hear. Thanks for the compare feedback on BX and Black.I will give it another test this weekend, but I am fairly sure what I felt will stand true. It is firmer than the Chrome Tour, for certain. But it felt softer than the most recent version of the Tour BX.
I look forward to the feedback of others.
I don't use alignment lines when putting. But If I did I think I would gravitate to something smaller. Less distraction.I like the small line on this one. I plan to see how it works on the back of the ball as a point of impact during my putting stroke tomorrow.
