Bridgestone VS Prototype Golf Balls

Some worse than others for sure in this aspect. It’s interesting that these covers seem to be on the more durable end. Kind of has me wondering if there’s something new with this cover. The durability is high and the sound doesn’t quite match the feel.
I haven’t seen anything to me that says it’s more durable over others. I ripped some of the cover off with a couple wedge shots on the first two balls but kept playing them. Again I don’t really look at that as a knock, because it happens with other balls. Not bashing. Just stating. Especially with me having had the seem issues. Now it could have been just the sleeve. We will find out tomorrow.

Just rolled some more putts with the new putter and although the insert is a little softer I still very much like the feel of this ball.

If I had to pick my favorite improvement of the VS Black over the Tour BX, its the feel off the putter.

It’s been so long since I used the Tour BX. During my round outside of putter feel I thought the VS felt the best off irons. Very crisp.

Ball Fitting:

I wanted to point out that I used the ball selector tool when signing up and was fir for the VS Black. I was honestly a bit skeptical because while I used the Tour BX (black) in the past, I am not the same player that I was then with respect to swing speed. I have definitely slowed down.

Well, I used the VS Black yesterday on my way to my personal best round of 82, and I left some shots out there for sure. The ball was doing everything I wanted with my iron shots, and was really long off the tee. I could not have asked the ball to do anything else, it was all around awesome.
PB?! Let's go dude!

If that was the ball you had in play at Kinderlou, it fit your game well. I can tell it helped you a ton off the tee because you hit some monster drives.

Prepare yourselves for reviews of VS greens

Have the trackman booked for 45minutes tomorrow morning

Gonna do 8 irons and 6 irons ----ProV1x vs Vs Green

I swing 105mph with driver and hit a 6 iron about 180yards. My ball-striking is so good it has been called "culturally and aesthetically relevant " in the National Registry.

Key components for me will be spin and launch.

We start tomorrow.

Congrats on the Personal Best. Good to see the ball selector results are aligning with your experience. I always wonder how sensitive those tools are to certain answers.

Cannot wait to test these out in rela in life and not on putting mat

I do like the feel and feedback from this ball. Again. I would describe it as snappy but not clicky.

Supposed to be about 39-40* when I tee off and will get to mid 50s by end of round.

It was, mostly. I was switching between it and the CTX to compare. But if you are taking about the two drives specifically on hole 1 each day, they were both the Bridgestone.

I actually tried to trick it the second time and still ended up in the VS Black.

Because I'm in Canada I've only just received my VS Blues now but better late than never!

A bit about me before I give my first impressions, I live and golf up in the Pacific Northwest and am a mid handicapper. I grew up playing hockey while playing golf every now and then but last year I picked up the golf bug and have been golfing a lot more since then. This summer I flip flopped between the Z Star Diamond/XV, TP5X, sometimes Prov1x and the Chrome Tour. Honestly I was just playing whatever X ball was given to me by friends in the industry or whatever was on sale.

This Fall/Winter I have switched to the Bridgestone Tour B XS under the recommendation of a friend and have been using that for the last couple weeks.

First impressions:

The box I assume is not going to look like this when it is released at retail I imagine it will look a bit better quality wise so this is irrelevant to me I guess.

Taking a first look at the VS Blue I couldn't tell the difference between the Prototype and the Tour B XS except for the label on the tiny sightline they have on there. The numbers are the same font and same color and the dimple pattern is the same unique Bridgestone pattern that I personally like.

I personally like a larger sightline and usually add one sharpie line to any balls, that being said I've seen e6 and e12 have better lines and wouldt mind if they release something like a "VS Blue Enhanced Alignment" however like I said its not too hard to just draw your own... but if the two blue dashes next to the VS BLUE label were just longer... this would be perfect to me looks wise

As for the logo I do appreciate the basic aesthetic.

I have included some photos of side by sides with some other balls I have. I do like the dimple pattern and I'm not engineer but I do feel like the difference in pattern would totally change the way the ball will fly and interact with the greens!

Lately I have been playing well shooting some of my lowest scores but unfortunately looks like rain for the next 2 weeks so I will have to see if getting some indoor testing is in the cards for me.

Confirmed tonight at my GOLFTEC practice session that the VS Blue offers me a lot more spin than the chrome tour does.

At the end of my practice session, I put up an 85 yard green and took shots at it. I was using my 54° Callaway Jaws Raw.

After I hit the wedges, I moved the practice green back to 170 yards and hit 7i. I play the Callaway Apex Ti Fusion irons with Fujikura Pro shafts. Unfortunately, I missed the picture at the end because I was excited looking at the numbers. I know, rookie mistake!

Launch angle with the Bridgestone VS blue went up 1° to a 20° average.

Spin went up from 4700 to just over 5000.

Descent angle went from 39 to 41°

I agree with this statement. I am beating all hell out of a single ball in the SIM and not seeing any issues of durability.

That is amazing…what stood out to you most with this ball and your irons? Workability? Ball holding on shots into the green? Tell me more because for me the VS Red has been awesome on iron shots I to the green so far. First time for me to play this ball off the tee with a driver happens this weekend.

Wow .... that's a considerable amount of spin difference. 900+rpm's

I saw it hitting balls just on the practice range. I wanted to make sure I was really trying to hit the same shot so that’s why I moved to aiming at a green so I can keep it as consistent and fair as possible. It’s pretty crazy how much more the VS Blue spins on wedges for me.

Good spin numbers there. I am testing the Red and as a low spin iron player, I am also seeing an increase in spin. Had some shots hat closed in on 6000-which is a big leap from my high 4000.
