NEWS Brooks Koepka Back on PGA Tour?

The funny thing is its worded as a threat but if they wanted to come back they would let them I guarantee it
Tour has to try to sound tough in some way when tehy are folding like a $2 goodwill suit

without a doubt. and we would get a press release about this being a case by case basis

He seems ok with it

“The penalty is significant but I understand why they’ve done it. It hurts but it’s supposed to,” Koepka told Golfweek in a Monday phone call. “I’ve got a lot of work to do with the players and I want to do that one-on-one. I want to have those conversations, but behind closed doors."
PR speak.
That doesnt hurt at all.
It was done to try and save face, to a failed policy.

Looking forward to the inevitable Brandel Chamblee meltdown.

Im actually shocked and happy he acknowledged the need to talk to the players. Normally I would think he would approach it as "who gives a ****"
I really don't think a lot of players give a crap about them leaving. It opened the door for some more guys to get on the tour. It made it "easier" to win some events. It got more money to the players from the PGAT. It was great for these guys to leave.

I genuinely want to know what they will do with Wesley Bryan who didn't even play on LIV just did some youtube thing

Beyond a shadow of a doubt...

If you are Taylor Gooch or Kevin Na though you may want to move quickly haha

I'm fine with how this is set up - the PGA Tour recognized an opportunity and are taking advantage of it. With this small window, if it gets 1 or 2 of the others who qualify, it's an even bigger deal.

I get the comments and feelings about getting his cake and eating it too, however sometimes you need to make a statement move and this is definitely one of those times.

I figured it would come to something like this. I did not think the tour would suspend him. Excited to see him back playing on tour.

We need a transfer portal for Professional Golf now, it seems.

That is an interesting scenario. I mean he wasnt a major winner so doesnt qualify but still seems silly to keep him suspended.

The tour caved. Period.

Absolutely did and the non major/non players winners, on the PGAT or LIV, should be upset because this whole time it was a message from the PGAT that they were all in this together and protecting everyone from #125 to #1.

Well not so much right now.

For sure. Absolutely did.
The interesting part though is, if others leave, and are welcomed back, a snowflake gets its wings, the LIV League closes almost immediately.
While I agree if the other big names leave that is a tough one for LIV to bounce back from, I think the uniqueness of Brooks's contract made it easier for him to leave versus Rahm, Cam or Bryson. Also Bryson just signed an extension and has the Crushers GC making money (estimated $20 million last season) so I will be shocked if he goes.

That was one of my comments and to be clear, I absolutely do not care at all lol. He went and got the bag from LIV and now gets to come back to the Tour.

Makes the Tour look like idiots. There's gonna be guys wishing they had done what Brooks did (and whoever else follows in his footseps).

I know he doesn't care but limiting to 2022 or later Majors wins feels like an intentional shot at DJ.

Nobody in the PGAT office is at all concerned with Wesley Bryan not being on the tour. Wesley Bryan is not even concerned with Wesley Bryan being on the tour.

That's funny. But it's a charity.
I'm sure it's legit. And they do some good. But I'm sure it is run by friends and family and they are paid well.

He definitely doesn't care. He doesn't even know what year it is

I don't think there's any way Bryson goes. I could see Rahm doing it.

No question it is more challenging, but if it happens, and those 3 leave, LIV is done.
The PGA Tour doesnt let Brooks back if they dont think they have a chance to finally bring golf back.

The idea that anybody thinks the PGA Tour "won this" is crazy though.
Brooks signed for upwards of 100 million and made about 50 million in earnings.

You mean Phil. Setting it to 2022 instead of 2021 was very intentional.
