Build an Iron Set

but the catch is, each head has to be a different manufacturer and model. 4-PW, no hybrids or hyrons allowed. (yes I am bored on a conference call)


For me I think I would go:

4 - Callaway Apex CF 16
5 - Srixon 545
6 - TaylorMade RS2i
7 - Mizuno 850 Forged
8 - Titleist 716 Ap2
9 - Bridgestone CB
PW - Cobra King Forged CB

One word comes to mind thinking of this set...ouch. haha
 
Eh, if none of them match it doesn't matter to me which one is which. Just grab 7 random GI irons and I'll be happy enough. USGA rules make them all pretty much the same.
 
4 - W/S Proto (very good tee option)
5 - TM Speedblade
6 - Cobra Fly-Z XL
7 - Cleveland 588 MT (comfortable option here for me)
8 - Nike Vapor Speed (consistency between the 7i and 8i here)
9 - Ping GMAX (wider sole option here, don't want to hit my 110y and in shots fat)
PW - Callaway Apex
 
This is a neat thread idea. For me I think I'd go:

4 - TM Speedblade (easily the easiest launching long iron I've ever swung)
5 - Cleveland 588MT (again, easy launching longer iron)
6 - Srixon Z-Star
7 - Adams Idea Black CB3
8 - Nike Vapor Pro Combo
9 - Wilson Staff FG Tour V4
PW - Mizuno MP64 (never got a set of these but always wanted to)

Is anyone else kind of talking themselves into actually playing this set?

9: mizuno jpx 825: another distance monster. I think I stuck more greens with this club than any other 9i.

If it wasn't so bloody hard to assembly, I'd sure think about it haha
 
If I had the money I absolutely would put together a set like this for kicks

175 yards? That's either a hard TaylorMade or easy Srixon. If it's into the wind I'd go with the 3/4 knockdown callaway.
