Callaway Apex Performance Series Irons – Ai200, Ai300 and Ti Fusion

Golf is hard- give me what the numbers and data show work best for me. Ai200/300 are aesthetically pleasing as well! If by some off chance TI works, then I'll take that as well, but I'm trying to be realistic.

If I show up to the big box retailer who advertised "Apex demo day" and they do not have the new Apex irons there, someone is going to get an earful.
I can not wait. Just watched @JohnnyCallaway ’s video in the email I received and he nuked them

Got your name all over it.

One day I will finally put Apex in the bag. I think a combo with the Apex Pros and Ai200 would be right up my alley.

I was lucky enough to hit these briefly in an 8i this weekend. I hit them into the blue screen and can only comment on looks, sound and feel and am comparing them to the Ai-smoke that I really like and am gaming.

Looks: they all look great, and I prefer the look over my current set. The Ti is stunningly beautiful to my eye and was the first that I was drawn to and picked up. I hit that one first and the feel was soft and solid and a little intoxicating. I have been thinking about that feel since hitting it and it felt better than my current iron. I honestly didn't know that they were more demanding than the others when I hit. I liked the 200/300 looks better than my Ai-smoke and the feel/sound was also better.

For me, it really would come down to a fitting and numbers. I tried the Apex pros at a fitting compared to the Ai-smoke and the smoke were much better for my swing and game. I have a feeling that if I put the new Apex 300 up against the Ai-smoke gamers, I may like the look/sound/feel better but still "need" my irons for max forgiveness. I am not really in the market and am very happy with my current bag, but I will eventually look at these at the local shop and compare.

That Ti fusion is something I could see myself trying to improve enough to game. They really did feel amazing in a way I am having a hard time describing. Buttery explosiveness is the best I can come up with right now. I may put them on a monitor to see that my Ai-Smoke are 15 yards farther than them, but that is sure not what it felt like.

These look really nice. I can't wait to hit them.

@Jman not that this is anything more than a nomenclature piece, but do you know if they are going PW/AW or 10/11??

I see you and @Nerdy are going for demo day this weekend - I assume that you know for sure that they are going to have these irons there?
I've text my guy about my fitting this weekend and asked as well. No response yet. I'm sure this falls into the if they have their demo kit yet space.

Edit
He replied and didn't know about it

Checking to see so hoping it will all be there this weekend.

Is it me or did they change the Apex logo?

The font/style of the A is different than that on the Pro’s and CB’s, yeah.

Man I wish these had released earlier in the year.

And yikes on the price point 👀

I would love to try the sweet spot combo with MMT 85s

So I can roast these pretty well. There's no real escaping loft and awesome faces. So not always the most useful example on this. I do constantly get people asking me questions about them though, and it's useful to have some time in on more typical stuff so I do hit everything and try to mimic things I see a lot.

And that's where the fun begins. 😆 Because I'm not great at the most common flights in golf. ^ And I'm often told I don't look great doing it. Lol But that actually works out wonderfully! Because I definitely move it around the face in trying, and get a better feel for them.

And screwing around like that today just confirmed my initial feelings on them mostly. Really nice performance, especially for a steeper player. The looks and feel aren't really designed for me either but the 300 is pretty impressive there. It's a great time to be in a GI iron. You can definitely survive some misses with them. Top line on the 200 is maybe a bit much and I'm curious to see more people react on that compared to some direct competitors. Overall size is really nice though and I tend to love what Callaway does with soles the last few years.

Can never remember what I've said and not said and chose not to say at this point..

I think the design is really good on my higher strikes, up to a speed point. Then it seemed to work against. Not really designed for that though so should just generally be pretty great on that. Hard to curve. I can hit some slingers and they all seem pretty straight. The Ti are a ton of fun. More speed more spin for me. Which is cool because it actually got me peaking a little higher.

Anyway, yadda yada, I'll really excited to see some people benefit and put them in play. And for the Granddaddy crew to play the heck out of them!

Callaway putting out some pretty awesome irons these days.
Color me impressed.
If I hadn't just gotten a set of Apex '21 Black I'd be looking hard at these, but they need to come with the black finish! The 200 w/ the HDC Dart 80 are enticing.
Maybe 2 years out when they hit the CPO site...
