Callaway Apex Ti Fusion Plated and Apex Ti Fusion 250 Irons

205 yard 6 iron? STRONG.
It came up a little short. Had no business trying it. 195 on Shotscope now that I’ve looked at it closer. A lot to look forward to

Just cleaned these up. No wear marks yet. Very small amount of bag clatter not worthy of a picture. Very happy with this result

Path fixed and corrected today. Found it a little yesterday on course and today it showed out.

7 iron distance now for gap purposes today was 185 on a full swing. The greatest thing is the ball wasn't turning massively left or going really hi. Apex on this group of shots was...... 94 feet. That matched my 6 iron club head speed today so from my understanding these are fully optimized numbers wise. Just gotta keep on with the good swings.

Just had a really fun sim session with the TiF 250 irons. Here was my green hit rate:
9i 60%
8i 90% (!)
7i 64%
6i 80% (!)

Just fun to hit.

Spin a little low but my height/descent angle was more than playable - happy with that.

Distance is about equal to my previous JPX925 HMP. Feel is just way better. Look at address very pleasing.

How do they compare forgiveness-wise compared to the 925 HMPs?

I absolutely love the look at address of these irons!

Both have very good forgiveness low and toe side, where I miss the most. Both in terms of distance retention, as well as left/right dispersion. No big benders in either set. Any left/right dispersion is just either a dead pull or straight push. Where the 250 has an advantage for me is overall feel (the sound is addicting), and look/confidence at address. Profiles are pretty similar, where I only note a little more offset with the 250. Here are some comparison pics I posted earlier:

I've hit the HMP before and it was forgiving but I have a hard time finding them more forgiving than these just due to the amount of material and tech

Was working with some wedges today, outdoors, in real grass and moisture. Seemed like a good time to really try the AW. Its 47 degrees. Its 2 degrees weaker than my previous PW. I get it. Supposed to be fast off the face and the loft will make it harder to play shorter shots.

Thats just not true. I hated the set wedges on the previous "hollow body" I was playing. I find these are in and out of the dirt smoother and I don't feel like I have to manipulate the face. At this position in the bag the club is used for lower flighted shots around 100 yards. I don't feel that this is going to be a problem. The shot at 50 yards (all the space I had to work with) took only 1-2 swings to figure out my distance control

I think all of us with either type of TiF rave about the set AW. It’s really nice.

I fully intend to use the AW as my 100 yard club. 3/4 controlled shot.

Random musing today. My wife bought me a towel with a magnet on it last year. She always looks to see if I have it. I typically hang it on an iron. It won't attach to the face of these Titanium irons. It does stick to the back of the iron as well as the UT and wedges

My main observations on the 250's tonight.

Ballspeed. Lots of ballspeed. PW was 7 mph faster with the same swing speed as my last irons. Spin is lower with the 250's, but not horribly so. It just adds a few more yards with the faster ballspeed.

Longer but a controlled long

The set AW on the TiFusion 250 is so versatile, I got out yesterday for a rare late December round in Nashville.

Shot my lowest round in a long time with 3 birdies. And the AW was a star all round no matter what type of shot.

The straight forward pitch from in front of the green has become my go to shot with the AW.

It becomes an 11 iron on full swings, for me that is 110-115 yards.

Take some off with a 3/4 swing, and control the distance rather than trying to muscle a 54° to cover the yardage. I’m still working on this, as sometimes I carry it too long.

If you are building a set, don’t sleep on the set AW.

Good stuff @JDax - I fully intend to use the AW as you describe. It looks forgiving and versatile at address - will be very useful for full and partial swings for me.

I'm with you and we've chatted about it before. I find the AW to be really good as a set club. I've even hit some bunker shots with it.

Besides the set wedges, I’m still enjoying the rest of the set as I get more and more rounds in with them.

The performance averages from Shot Scope show really good gaping (remember I’ve only put the 5 iron in the bag a few rounds, as normally I have 6 hybrid in that spot). They are nearly identical to the Ai300 irons that I had earlier in the season.

I’ve lived off the toe side for most of the season, but center face contact with go slightly longer than the P-Average. Like this shot, 166 to a back pin. I flushed this, and hit it just long and it ended up in a collection area off the back.

If I can't play golf and spend any money on greens fees or lessons for another month, I may as well put that money to good use...

So I did a thing...

By the time I get it I should be about ready to start swinging again. May end up swapping it in and out with my regular black TiF 7 iron depending on how I'm swinging, individual course, etc. We'll see. Maybe I'll hate it. I doubt it. I think it will give me just a little extra boost of confidence and forgiveness in that "longest iron in my bag" slot, especially off the deck.

I think my Franken-set of clubs is now about as blended as it could be, unless I threw a CBZ into my 52 wedge slot. 😂

My sim place has an app that logs a fair amount of data from the practice session. One thing that is evident comparing my previous irons and current TiF 250 is the increase in greens hit with the irons. It tracks “nice” shots (anywhere on the green) and “excellent” shots (within a few feet of the pin). Both of those percentages are squarely improving.

And did I mention the feel…. Improved performance with awesome feel. I’m excited.

The first time in my experience with hollow body designed clubs I feel the AW is very usable around the green and on knock downs. It spins great as well for good stopping power.

Any crazy shots out of the higher stuff for you so far?

The feel is the biggest surprise of the irons to me. Design screams fast face but the feel is really nice.

I won’t say it’s a one piece forged feel but it’s superior to other hollow irons I’ve tried. Personally didn’t “feel” a difference with this and the Ai series.

Got to say, in 2025 I had 3 sets of irons. Easily 2 more than normal, but the 250s have been the absolute stars of the show. Love the feel, spin, distance. Total package.

Oof, sorry early dinner and a lot of bourbon and beer. So much for auto correct. Hahahaha

Hit some punch shots with these today just to get some swings in. Suprisingly easy to keep the ball down and it not get away from me. One thing I am liking is that the ball stays online. Obviously a pull is a pull, the same as a push BUT the curvature isn't there. I have had a long history of over turning my shots with irons and maybe this is the fix.
