Callaway Apex Ti Fusion Plated and Apex Ti Fusion 250 Irons

Got these on the course for the first time yesterday. They are so confidence inspiring. Hit multiple 6i's and the ball explodes of the face. Had my friend hit it and I think I convinced him to get new clubs.

The sound from these on course is lovely. A solid and crisp thwack. Distances were further than my last set, but inline with what I've been seeing on the sim. Looking forward to playing them more often.

The sound is so unique, it’s addictive

I couldn't make it to the course today. Woke up stuffy and achy. With all of my exposure I probably picked something up this week at work. SO>>> range time.

I know they say anything is possible... It isn't. I absolutely can not hook the Ti250 irons. I made a real effort with each club 5-AW. Can't do it.

On a regular golf swing with no manipulation I have about a 5 yard draw. Just have to account for it on course. I'm not sure its enough to warrant a flatter lie angle. (I've always played 1 flat since my reach is so long) The 5 iron flight is nice and high with a great ball flights. Irons 5-7 I can actually FADE! To be as large and full of tech as they appear compared to blades, this set can be managed left to right and right to left.

Something that stood out today was "half" shots. The 9 iron on a stock swing is typically 150-155. I was able to knock it down on some easier swings and didn't feel like it was ever going to get away from me. Flighted but landed soft.

Well struck shots from the center(using strike tape) feel like a fully forged one piece iron. You notice if you miss but it is never harsh. Thin shots don't loose a full club of distance though naturally are a little flat.

Urethane microspheres for the win!

I'll admit, these ended up not working the best for me, but they did have a very unique, almost addicting sound.
Why did others work better for you?

The course wasn't open today so I done some in yard chipping to a target with the 9-AW. I'm not sure I can chip with the 9. However, I was very encouraged by what I saw out of the PW and AW. Yes they are hot faced irons built for speed but the wedge design does make them user friendly. I was able to hit my number in the air with minimal practice reps. Not sure how the run out would be but my on course use so far says they will work well.

High grass didn't tangle the wedges. Obviously they didn't work as well as the Opus SP in that setting due to size and design but from a good lie these are playable.
We are going to have to link up so I can get a feel for how those wedges respond

It’s 38 degrees and I’m playing in about 2 hours if you can make it 😃

The temp doesn’t scare me away. Unfortunately I think the Ohio State Highway Patrol might given the two hour window

@JDax - how would you compare and contrast these to some of your experiences with Cobra irons that have been in the bag?

The last cobra iron that I had in my bag was the FTX, and those were a very different presentation (smaller blade length, less offset, etc.) .

The ball speed of the Ti 250 is more, and the toe side miss was way more penal with the FTX.

Speaking of toe side misses I had a few yesterday that ended up really nice. Maybe 10 yards distance loss max that turned out really well.
If the toe miss is your tendency then these sure seem to help.

I was looking for more height/launch/descent and spin coming from the Ai200 and the X Forged Max have that to me in a package that feels incredible (not that these don’t feel great too). I also struggled to get these in air as high as I wanted, but I’m fully ready to admit that could be because I had just done a bunch of swings with 7 irons and was handed a 6 for these.

I have noticed it’s really easy to flight these down but that’s also a shot that I have always had.

I have been a low launch low spin player. Launch and descent is improved for me with the TiF250. Spin is still on the low range, but I am holding greens on the sim with launch/descent. My greens hit on the sim continues to improve as a result.

A really cold round today. Low to mid 30s with a 10mph wind. Some absolute missles hit with these today. The approach play numbers don't look good BUT... I played 6700 yards with only a 20 degree Apex UT off the tee. I was hitting 5 and 6 iron into a lot of greens. Very happy to say I have fixed part of what was wrong with my iron swing.

The weighting in the 5 iron seems to be far more aggressive than the UT. Launch off the deck is considerably more (yes I know its 3 degrees more loft) and it seems to follow suit with the rest of the bag.

One particular shot today was off the tee 175 yards into the wind. Hit a high 7 iron to 10 feet with the ball only running out 2 paces. I'll take that all day long.

Lets talk about TiF250 wedges. I've always hated hollow body power iron set wedges. Not now. I love these. I really can't imagine the CBZ performance being any better. Had a nice pitch in today with the PW and played several shots to pin high from some tricky wintertime bermuda bad lies. A stand out to me was how easy distance control was on low runners or shots that I had to fly half way to the hole. There wasn't any moment that the golf ball got away from me. No unexpected run out or lost shots over the short game set wedges.

I thought I was set with where I was going for irons in ‘26 but you are making me reconsider with this kind of feedback. Checking off how the wedges work outside of full swings is important

I was surprised. I've been well known to hate anything hollow low in the bag. I like these. I had options today and found myself reaching for these wedges

Do you try to chip with the AW or strictly full shots?

I think you’d be hard pressed to find another better iron in this category.
At the very least they’re worth hitting during an agnostic fitting.

Both. I pitched in today with the PW. Most of them were pin high and tap ins that would be gimme type putts. They aren't hot off the face

I’ve not tried pitching with them yet, I’m too in love with the Opus SP to give anything else a chance at the moment lol

Swung by the store, they didn’t have a 250 head but said they will get one in when it’s time to hit a few options. I will be taking them up on their offer

Its worth a try. They really don't jump on chip shots. I was really cynical about it at first. They work.
