Callaway Apex Ti Fusion Plated and Apex Ti Fusion 250 Irons

Its worth a try. They really don't jump on chip shots. I was really cynical about it at first. They work.
I think in the past when I’ve tried turf interaction has been sub par. Since these have the tri sole I bet they slide right on through the turf like they do on full shots.
The tri sole hasn’t gotten enough love.

Swung by the store, they didn’t have a 250 head but said they will get one in when it’s time to hit a few options. I will be taking them up on their offer
I can tell you the only reason I haven’t fallen in love with them is because the demo set at my local GG has too light of a shaft in them

Well worth a full fitting. Feel and looks meet in a solid package

I plan on it. Not sure I want to fall in love with them with the price tag though :ROFLMAO:

To me thats the limiting point for them not being the most loved game improvement iron on the market

Magic comes with a price! 🤣

The weighting in the 5 iron seems to be far more aggressive than the UT.
@hedley_lamarr - can you clarify this - does aggressive weighting mean weight placement to help launch?

Checking off how the wedges work outside of full swings is important
Do you try to chip with the AW or strictly full shots?

I have been a big user, with my prior set JPX925 HMP, of the set gap wedge around the greens. I don’t see any different with this AW. Limited use on grass so far, but that’s part of my plan to have these in the arsenal around the green.

These are an investment, for sure. So glad to see they are delivering on performance and feel - helps justify that up front leap.

I’ve tried in the past with other sets but turf interaction wasn’t the best, it didn’t help that it seemed like every time I tried it was wet and soggy conditions.
I don’t have the approach wedge so I’ll have to try some bump and runs with the pitching wedge and see how it goes.

I’ve had the same experience with most other set wedges so I’ll be curious your thoughts about them

I’ll try to remember to give it a go a couple of times this morning

It really feels like on equal strikes the TiF250 has more launch and lower weighting. The blade length and width is longer in the 5i vs the 20 degree UT.

Gotcha - and agree. While I didn’t get a 5i in my set up, I am seeing improved launch with my 6i.

This is probably why I've never tried set wedges. I'll give these a try. At least put them through the wedge matrix.

I find zero issue using the TiF AW for any kind of full, partial, or chip shot because they nailed everything about it - maybe it is the magical microspheres but it feels like a wedge, not a high lofted iron.

Those microspheres are some secret sauce. When I read a tech spec I look out for them now.

I had in 2025 3 or 4 different irons for relatively long times, these the 250s have worked far and away the best for me. The toe miss is incredible, The club seems to go through the turf well (as have many others), I just feel these work so well for me. Love them - I don't get insane distances, but I get plenty of spin and height - I can't recall any flyers - they just work. That they look so good and feel so good - bonuses.

Ball striking today was so poor that I couldn't get a good read on distance control in the sim today. However, the ball stayed on line. The ones I did actually put a good swing on had a really nice, high ball flight with good spin windows. A solid struck shot does not feel like a hollow body or traditional game improvement iron. The tech and Ti face really stand out. Some really bad swings can't be saved by any type of club. These have done a pretty good job so far of keeping me sane while I work through a rough patch of swings

One thing I was talking with @Scooby45 about this AM. The looks. I don't feel that I have suffered anywhere in the look department. Yes they are a little larger than some irons but they aren't hideous, they don't setup awkwardly. They just look good behind the ball.

and no, the offset won't make you hit the ball left.... thats your face/path control

My 250 7i has shipped and shows delivery Monday. Will be ready once I can swing again in two weeks. Can’t wait to try it out.

I saw the full demo set at a store today. They absolutely checked off the looks box for me. Would happily look at those in the bag.

For a reminder I have a combo set of TI Fusion 250 in 5 and 6 iron and standard TI Fusion in 7-PW.
I had a few ridiculously good shots with the 5 and 6 iron today. They’re so easy to get up in the air and fly PLENTY long.
Rocket launcher is cliche but so accurate.

Are you seeing much distance gains? What were you coming from?

I went through this thread and most of the talk is from the 250s. How are you liking the regulars? I have a set coming in 5-P that I blind bought. I’m excited for sure.
thanks

I’m not seeing any real difference in distance to be honest. Coming from the PXG 0311 P Gen 7 irons. They’re solid but the TI Fusions so far are every bit as good in every aspect and beat out the Gen 7s in some areas.
