Callaway Chrome Tour, Chrome Tour X, and Chrome Soft Golf Balls

The CT series was really surprising with the performance and durability. I can't remember a ball recently that had a cover deformed to the point where I thought I couldn't play it. I know with previous versions of the PV I had concerns about the cover after an errant drive and a punchy recovery, or the cart path multiplier that scrapped a ball.

I have like 15 Chrome Tour's on my desk now, all used 1-2 rounds. Some of them are a bit beat up but if i hit like 7 full wedges in a round this is unavoidable.

But i'd say it's the most durable high end ball i've used in years. And a massive upgrade from previous Gen CS. As mentioned the cover tore off that ball if you sneezed on it.

But otherwise i've loved the performance for years. I hadn't really thought much of it until you asked, but i've probably used Callaways for 85% of my rounds the last 7 years or so

I’ve got so many balls sitting unused but I just keep buying more CTX because it does exactly what I want it to do. Like I should probably clear out my stash at some point but it’s hard for me to put another ball in play right now.

I had the "wow" durability moment happen this past weekend with CT. Was playing the Pro V1x on the first two holes as I had a tee gift sleeve sitting in my office. Two wedges from 121 and 78 yards on first two approach shots. Two massive scuffs. Said nope, put a fresh CT in play on 3 tee which is a 155 yard par three. Played 3, had an 87 yard wedge on 4, 65 yards on 5, and 119 yard gap wedge on par 3 6th. Stepped on 7 tee and noticed one slight, tiny blemish. Played it the rest of the day!

It's frustrating not being in the US. Hard to find Yellow Chrome Tour balls and even harder Yellow Chrome Tour Triple Track. And when I do, they cost $75.00.
Curious to know how much would you be willing to pay for your favorite golf ball.

I wouldn't be willing to pay more than retail. Hell even at retail I'm barely willing to pay. It's why their 4 for the price of 3 pack is such a nice deal to snag.

2 for $95 or 4 for 3... can't beat the deals.

I agree, they are a great ball but they go on sale a couple times a year and that is a great time to stock up.

The 2 for $95 grabbed me. Even though I didn't need them right now, I snagged a dozen of the new CTX 360 yellow stripe and a dozen CTX yellow triple track.

Favorite ball or favorite ball option?

I would switch from yellow to white in a heartbeat if the only way to get them was to spend $20 more. But if my only way to get CT was to spend more, I would go maybe $5-10 more? Maybe?

The 4 for 3 is great and for those that have Sam’s Club memberships, the CT and CTX are even a bit cheaper at $39.98 with no need to buy 4 dozen at a time.

I saw you posted that earlier... that is fantastic.

It was a round where things were just clicking. Hardly any bad shots at all, was so awesome.

I have a 48 pack of Maxflis at the house. Think I will take them back to GG and exchange for a couple dozen Chrome Tours. Still will try the Maxfli again but goodness the CT feels and performs exceptionally
I already used half my 48 pack of Maxflis, but after another round comparing the MaxFli Tour and the CT, I will probably buy more CTs. My home course can get very windy and the CT just seems to play so much better in the wind. Saw about 5-10 yd difference again between the two hitting into the wind.

I noticed the distance difference as well. More rollout on the greens with the Maxfli as well. I can get the CT to spin back a bit if needed, I can’t seem to get the Maxfli to do it. It holds greens no problem, but it’s not the CT. It is a damn good golf ball.

Just found another dozen CT in another golf bag ball pocket. Wish I hadn't because I really wanted to get the new Yellow/White CTs a try and had some in the cart. Finding a full dozen is still a fun surprise though!!
you just have random dozens handing out waiting to be found?

I can find white ones for $65. However I’d rather play yellow ones because I’m colorblind and helps me track the ball better

I am the same and much prefer the yellow as well.

So would you pay $75 to play your desired yellow ball?
Now that I have played them and it's my only option. I would.

@Baron1 ... where are you located primarily (your location has 3 different world cities)

Then yes, I'd pay that difference for yellow. I know you've stated why you played yellow specifically, just for your question though, I would have switched to whites specifically if those were my options

It’s complicated haha. I’m originally from Brussels, Belgium. In 2014, I moved to San Francisco and lived there for 7 years. Then in 2021 moved to Dubai but I’m still doing back & forth between Dubai and Miami (new city in my “rotation” for the past 3years). So I spend about 6months a year in Dubai, 4months in the US (primarily Miami, but still go to San Francisco) and 2 months in Belgium.

Great golf in Dubai... wish I could remember the name of the place we played there when I was in the Navy (25 yrs ago). One of the nicest clubs I've ever been to.

Anyways.. I'm sure it's not but if it would ever be less expensive for me to buy for you here and send somewhere... just lmk. Happy to do it.
