Callaway Elyte Drivers – Elyte, Elyte X, Elyte Max Fast and Elyte Triple Diamond

Where does everyone have the set to on the adapter (besides @Joshnoble01 ) ?

Been at -1/N since the start.

Debating going -1/D next time out.
-1D (7°)
Going to leave it in draw and take it up to S and then +1 and +2. After hitting the Mini @ 9.5° and seeing much higher flight, no ballooning, has me interested to see what I find.

You know you’re going to try my magical N/S with shaft lined up at N/+2 that results in -1/D.

N/S. I may tinker around, but N/S is working so maybe don’t mess with a good thing

I am gaming the TDTD now but I had my elyte core in -1/D and the TDTD is in D/S…for me I see a little more penetrating flight and less spin with the TDTD than the Elyte Core

Don’t tell me that. 🙉

:ROFLMAO:

I know the chart posted was the chart posted but I definitely see less spin from the TDTD

And it feels just a touch faster club head speed wise. I’m sure a 450 vs 460 plays into that too

Sorry to push towards a purchase :ROFLMAO:

I've got a handful of rounds in with the TD head so far this year, and can say that I'm happy with the performance thus far. I'm seeing far better dispersion and distance than the previous driver and it's starting to build some confidence, maybe even a little cockiness that I've not ever experienced.

I realize that 30 shots is a very small sample size but I make bad choices in where I choose to live so cut me a little slack. However the data for those 30 shots is encouraging as I'm currently seeing double the FIR vs my old driver (63% vs 30%) and an increase in the P-Avg from ShotScope of +18 yards (278 yards vs 260). Going into my fitting I was definitely more concerned about dispersion than I was distance, but to be able to see early gains in both is encouraging. One of the things that has historically hurt my scores, has been an inability to keep the ball in play so I'm taking these early wins and running.

So what's changed? Swing work is first and foremost, as much as I'd love to tell everyone that the driver is a miracle worker, we all know that most of the time it's the Indian and not the arrow. I was put into the TD in an effort to reduce spin, as I was coming severely over the top and cutting across the ball while at ECPC. So that swing work has definitely helped however where I think the biggest gains has been is on those off center strikes that so many people in here have talked about. Like most amateurs I don't find the center of the face every time, matter of fact I'd say more often than not I'm living in the outer two thirds of the face. I'm not someone who's consistent miss is toe or heel, I like to mix it up a bit and just keep myself guessing. The difference with this head though, is living in those areas doesn't penalize you from a dispersion or distance perspective. It seems those toe or heel strikes somehow manage to find the fairway at just about the same distance as a normal well struck shot. I've hit a few that I thought no way this ball is going to find a fairway only to walk up and see it in the fairway or just on the 1st cut.

I'm hopeful that the early season success, and swing changes I've made will continue throughout the year. My goal personally right now is to get below a 10 handicap at some point in time this season, and have been working diligently to get myself there. One of the largest obstacles to that is limiting penalty shots off the tee, and thus far the Elyte TD is helping me move in the right direction. Looking forward to talking more about this as mother nature releases her grasp on us here in Ohio.

30%->63% is nice, no cap.

That combination of more FW's and more distance is really eye opening

This thing looks great sitting in my garage but I really need to get it to the course

Friday afternoon will be my first swings with it since the Hideaway as the weather is finally cooperating. I had a pretty solid season last year with the Ai Smoke so I’m looking forward to putting this through the wringer this season to see how it stacks up. I have a LinQ White back in it which paired really well with a previous driver a couple seasons ago so my optimism is at an all time high as the season gets underway

Shaft War Begins and WOW did not expect this.

Contender 1: Aretera EC1 Blue 6S
Contender 2: Hzrdus Black Gen 4 6.0S (Just had it around and figured I'd try it before getting rid of it.)

Raw data (23 shots Aretera, 19 Hzrdus):

Cool experiment right? But let's dive deeper.
  • Eliminating the wild lefts and rights
  • Eliminating the highest spin
  • Eliminating the lowest ball speed
Took the best 11 from Aretera and 12 from Hzrdus:

What the heck. This echo's a lot of what people have said on here about Aretera blue: The best shots from this shaft are quite good, great even. Higher ball speeds, great launch numbers. But there was more of a higher range of dispersion / spin outcomes when the face wasn't squared fully.

I tried the Smoke Black a long time ago and thought it didn't have much feel. Gen 4 black feels a bit smoother. The shaft is also lighter by about 6 grams compared to Aretera. I'm impressed by the Hzrdus' ability to lower spin noticeably. I don't necessarily think my swing fit a black profile either but here we are.

Black wins today, but will continue to re-test to confirm with more data points. Next contender is also the Xcaliber Phoenix shaft which I gamed all of last season. Excited to see which shaft wins.

Core head @ N/S 10.5 continues to amaze with ball speed retention and straightness. So much I'm trading in the Ai Smoke Max and not thinking twice.

I feel like in this test you have a lot more outliers of worser shots with the Aretera than the HZRDUS...seem to be more consistent as a whole with the HZRDUS when all shots are included

Had one of the best sim sessions of the year with the X last Sunday before the Masters TV coverage kicked off. Was running out of time at the end, so I hit 5 drives: 1 push, 2 baby draws, and 2 straight balls. In Texas, I definitely found a nice mid-high ball flight that produced a solid baby draw. With the 30-40mph winds we encountered I shelved it for 5 irons and my UT more times than not as it launched too high. I have a nice easy take away now with a slightly open face at impact for the little draw.

On my 5 drives, I averaged 261 carry, 2645 spin (little higher than I like, but pretty solid), and a 37* landing angle. Looking forward to getting this out on our course at home. I've never had a driver I've felt comfortable hitting on our narrower holes, so this will be a pretty good test. The dispersion was excellent in Texas last month when I was hitting it.

Oh definitely, some balls on certain swings seem to "get away" from me with the Aretera.

If I was to pick today, there's no reason to not to game the Hzrdus. It felt straighter in all ways haha and had longer total distance.

Golf is a game of probabilities right? That's how I view it. On average I'm going to hit the Hzrdus better, but the 20% of the other times, the Aretera will show up and show something promising. Which would I prefer? Probably the former if we're being smart and calculated.

I'm surprised with the dispersion with Aretera. Solid ball speed and launch with both!! Crazy close. I like your spin with the Hzrdus personally, but it really is up to you what you're looking for.

It could be just a case of the profile not being as optimal for my swing and tempo. It's not that I can't hit the Aretera well, it's just maybe the body feels something more consistent / repeatable with Hzrdus Black.

I had the Hzrdus Black up until the GD and loved it.

How would you compare Hzrdus to Tensei Black?

I LOVE the Tensei Black 60s in my mini driver so much that I'm swapping it into the Elyte Mini right away. It's point and shoot for me, and if I mess up the swing it feels like it's completely on me and not the shaft. I also have zero problems with launch or spin with the Mini so I don't see how it doesn't fit my swing haha. That's how I would describe Tensei Black.

I use a paradym X 12* head on a self made mini driver. Anyone think an Elyte 12* core or X would give me any extra yards over the paradym X. It's my 250-260 fairway finder.
