Callaway Elyte Drivers – Elyte, Elyte X, Elyte Max Fast and Elyte Triple Diamond

I've been posting in the Elyte TD Draw thread, but I'm very happy with adding the TD Draw to the bag. The shape, feel, and spin characteristics are all things I loved already, but having the weight in a position that helps straighten out my fade and at times big push miss is exactly what I needed. Had a match play event this past weekend and the TD Draw was absolute money.

My driver swing is starting to come around this season and there’s some confidence that‘s being created by the TD head. I’ll even go as far as saying I may have gotten a little too cocky with the driver this evening (cost me a water ball trying to smash one) but when I do what I’m supposed to do I’m rewarded richly.

I’ll say that what @Muchmore commented on earlier today about FIR’s and potentially being misleading resonates with me, so I won’t necessarily go down that path but I’ll say that I‘m keeping the ball in play far more than at any time during the 2024 season. The lost ball tonight is only the 2nd ball I’ve lost this year in 5 rounds, whereas I was averaging a lost ball per 4-5 holes last year. Along with the additional playability, I’ve also found another gear with the TD from a distance perspective, seeing early season 10+ yard gains over the driver I had in play last year.

Hopeful that I continue seeing the success I’ve seen early in the season as we get a little further into the 2025 season.

Post a follow up after your round tomorrow.

I hit the core head with the Linq purple last week and had decent results. Enough to maybe try again soon.

A couple things.

This is a style shaft I am much more familiar with than the aretera and thp-proto I’ve been playing since December. I have to really swing hard throughout to get the thing to time up. No smooth or tempo or release thoughts needed. The head felt a little light, I didn’t swing weight before but I had pulled down the weight with the proto in so that might be part of it.

I’m currently out of CTTD balls and trying to burn off some of my other collection so was playing CT most of the day. It just doesn’t go as far off the driver and spun up a few times but seemed more or less where I expected. I need to get some CTTDs off this combo to see if there’s any distance hurt.

In the end 3 very different shafts that the core head seems to handle all without any issues and really protect against off center hits.

With playing the FrankenMini last round it was so good at 9.5°. I think I'm taking the TD up a degree or 3 and see what happens at the range tomorrow. The CTTD could be the ammo that allows me to loft up.

I love the core elyte head so much. Its basically everything I have wanted in a driver for a long time. 1) lower spinning head 2) forgiveness for strike location 3) incredible ball speeds across the face.

So interesting thoughts about this lineup....
I'm an old lefty so getting to hit the latest and greatest isn't always available to me.
Former very solid golfer who , do to health and family issues, hasn't played much in past few years......
I have good to great results from both TaylorMade and Callaway drivers whilst splashing in the occasional Ping or Mizuno believe it or not!

So the Qi10 DOT became available and it was solid but my lack of speed held back complete performance; same with Paradym Triple Diamond.

You might ask as to why an old ,slow dude would use these types of heads...... primarily the LOOKS , the feel and runout truthfully.
Flight window at my speed creates a weird dichotomy.......spin gets too high and I'm losing valuable distance.

Now if I could only find a 10.5 or higher lofted head that's neutral bias but still low spin.....the Qi10 DOT came close when lofted up but foward CG stole some consistency for me.

I didn't try smoke TD as I didn't think it was any different from PTD ...... G430LST was very close but not a fan of turbulators .....sue me

With very little fanfare or expectations, I then gave the ELYTE TRIPLE DIAMOND a look.....speaking of LOOKS , WOW!!! Just a beautiful, clean driver..... then the feel....
Not a carbon muted thud but a crispy yet smooth feel.....extremely hard for me to describe.

Next onto performance; heavy toe side protection. Lofted up ( my preference vs lofting down) gives a mid high flat trajectory that tumbles ......after a few choices , I've settled in with Diamana ZF50R and it quite possibly could be the BEST combo I've had in the past 20+yrs.

Epic Flash SZ comes close but had a horrid sound, TSR2 was solid but all titanium again wasn't as pleasing.

No , the boxes are being checked heavily with this club......

Friend of mine whom I haven’t seen in a minute, normally gets me by 10-20yds and if I'm close then I know I hit a good one.....
Well we played Friday last week and I was CONSISTENTLY 5-15 PASSED him !! I haven't added any speed , in fact I've slowed from lack of playing and just plain aging. He remarked that I looked confident with the driver but NEVER said anything about hitting first, LOL!

Tomorrow will be a big round , as I'm playing a very familiar track and looking forward to see if there are gains.

Will post more findings here.

So I teased about my next round being on a familiar track .....well slight deviation as I played a little longer than usual so my spots differ.....regardless, the soon to be iconic AND legendary ELYTE TRIPLE DIAMOND 💎.....
So I played with my good friend who suggested trying this and we both drove it well...... also , while he played back tees , I was up playing the combo 6000yd tees .
He shot 69 and I finished with a round of 70.....
Iron play was stellar on my part and his putter was en fuego!!!
But this is a driver thread and I'm here to give thoughts on ETD....
Conditions were very windy but the characteristics of ETD are to battle through tough conditions whilst being very friendly and pleasing.
ETD checks all boxes folks...... when needed , I shape the shot to play the hole and takeaway trouble.

For note , I hit 12/13 fwys but the confidence in driving hasn't been higher!

Currently playing Elyte X at 9 degrees and it’s been such an improvement for my driver game.

The tinkerer in me wants to try a core head but possibly in 10.5 degrees, for those have tried core and X is the core that much lower spinning for you?

A couple of hundred RPMs
If its just spin you are after, you could decrease the loft.

10/14 fairways last night. I know that seems like a silly stat to post, but accuracy has always kind of been my weakness with this club. For the last few years with driver, I get pretty decent distance most of the time (though I have stated that the Elyte has kicked it in to a new gear this season). But the accuracy is something to absolutely praise. Not on center of the face. On the entire face. I can truly almost miss anywhere and the chance the ball ends up in the fairway, or still totally playable in the rough...it feels like cheating.

The confidence standing on a tee knowing you can get the ball out there is pretty cool. I've had that confidence for the most part the past few driver models. Callaway drivers have been pretty unreal for me for a while now. But they just seem to step in up in the forgiveness/dispersion department every time I think they don't have much left to show me in that area. The Elyte Core is just another shining example of that. This forum member is one happy camper so far. And it's only April. It can only get better
Love to read this as your upcoming shamble partner 💪

Sounds like you might want to make your tee game elyte as well...

I do have a new shaft on the way that will need a head

TDTD and if it does not work out I am sure someone will help you with that :ROFLMAO:

I’m doing what I can dude! I’m feeling relatively confident!

It depends on the person. For me, it absolutely made a huge difference in spin reduction. According to one of the charts posted those two heads are on opposite ends of the spin spectrum in the lineup.

Last couple rounds I’ve hit a couple pretty heely, and was pretty impressed with how straight and far they went

It was a rocky road transitioning to the ElyteX for me. I had my ParadymX dialed and knew what to expect on just about any given swing. We were grooving, I was hitting it well and I was really starting to see improved distance numbers and accuracy. Then the fitting day came. I was absolutely incapable of putting a decent swing on any long wood. Using the Denali Charcoa and ElyteX 9* head, we saw some improved spin numbers and some additional yardage, but man, I was feeling really "iffy". I gritted my teeth and went for it anyway. (Shop credit, Callaway credit and 50% bonus trade-in kind of made it a no-brainer from a $$ perspective.)

Club got here in TWO days from placement of order which was crazy fast. As we all do, I headed straight to the range. Slice, slice, topper, slice and on and on it went. It was just another continuation of the fitting day. Flummoxed, somewhat dejected and questioning my purchasing decisions, I headed home to contemplate next moves.

Sunday tee time rolls around and I just had zero confidence standing in the box. First couple of holes were decent/playable. Then the wheels started to come off. Confidence shattered, I went back to my HZRDUS Black shaft. I still couldn't manage a good swing. Left, right, you name it, it was there for all to see. My iron game held tight and managed to put up an "ok" score for me. If I was uncertain before, now I really was.

Crunch time - trade-in has to be shipped on Monday. What to do?!?! You all know what I did. I sent the Paradym packing and steeled my resolve to sort out my swing and make nice with the new Elyte driver.

Wednesday tee-time is here. What's the swing going to be like today? Well, I had reflected on a few things and looked at was I was doing in my swing and realized I was getting WAY to "arms-y". Really focused on proper set-up and keeping the left arm on the chest on the downswing, letting the upper body bring the club around and, BINGO!! Everything started clicking in the right direction. No slices, no topped hits, no hooks. Just nice, solid, almost straight drives, and FAR!. Awesome! Question now is, "is this going to transfer to the course today?" And you know what? IT DID! It was the most, absolute best driving day of my life. 80%+ FIR with the misses only being a few steps off the FW. How was the distance you ask? Unbelievable. I was stupefied to put it bluntly. My partner was slack-jawed as well. He tells me, "I don't know what you're doing, but, um, it looks like you've got that new driver sorted out."

So yeah, amazing day with the driver, hitting it straighter and longer than ever. I'm ecstatic at the moment and just need to keep the momentum going forward.

Well I pumped it up +1D today at the range. Still a 1 thumb swing but oh my did it get up there! Will probably leave it until I can make a full swing and with my CTTD ammo. Going to need the lower spin I think but it was fun to watch.

Something about the TD that makes me feel really confident with a high cut. That start left die to the right ball just looks great with this head. The distance is acceptable with the flight.

Forgot to post from Monday's round. I hit 8/14 fairways which is slightly better than the 5 or 6 I averaged with Paradym. I think the major difference for me is getting the forgiveness and ball speed on mishits and the combo with the Tensei Black S they fit me to at ECPC. I left the face of the Hzrdus Black X and Tensei Black X open just a bit too much. I'm solidly in the 2-4° open but closed to the path ever so slightly for a baby draw. Id say I hit the draw about 2/3 of the time and a pretty straightish push the other 1/3, which was playable on all holes (thank you to a tree for the ricochet on hole 7).

Good ball speeds without even trying. I felt with the Hzrdus 6x or the Tensei Proto White 7x I've hit I really had to go get it which negatively impacted ball contact.

It knew you had a side piece waiting if it slipped. Just needed that out of the way. Love hearing you had a great day with it.

I just received my core model had. Well actually the golf store called me to say it is in I will go pick it up tomorrow. I ordered it with the one k black shaft as well. I did very well with it online tomorrow but I just have some fear that it may end up being too low launching when I get into real life.

Curious to know your swing speed and launch parameters to know whether or not I made the right decision with her car to the shaft. I'm sure I could trade it back for the carbon Denali model but that is a 58 g shaft that is significantly softer.
For reference my average swing speed is around $00 and when I go after it I can get up to 105
