Callaway Elyte Fairway Woods

Nope. It’s amazing.
If I didn’t absolutely love my 21° UW I would consider it more than I am. Right now I want to replace my 5W and find myself here looking for info on that and you keep posting about the wrong club! Lol

Man these woods are something else. I can’t believe the speed retention on bad strikes

Going to have to do a bit of digging on this as it would really open things up for me.
I wonder if @vgolfman has the answer if there's a flat cog for fairways.

Gonna need you to stop talking about a 7 wood. Thanks
Lol not gonna work they got me and i am glad they did. Surprised how good it is, no regrets except now with Elyte X and Core 7 and had no interest in pulling out my non Elyte 5 Wood

This thing is so damn impressive. I kind of want to add another one.

The Elyte 5w (lofted up to 19 deg) is more consistent than my UW. Just in case it helps to plant that in your mind.

I did have somewhat of a shootout last night on the sim between the Elyte X and the Elyte Ti 3 Woods. I had some initial data that showed the Ti 3W was longer (by about 5 yards), but spun more. I realized my data was not entirely apples to apples comparison, as I had different shafts in both. So last night I hit a set of about 25 shots with each head, and used the best 15 shots for data analysis to keep it fair. It eliminated a shorter distance subset of shots where I hit it high on the face and it goes 175. I had about 3-4 of those in each data set.

Both heads were hit and I used a Graphite Design AD-DI 6S shaft, which is -½" from standard length overall.
I forgot to take a pic of the balls on the range graphic, but they were all on top of each other, just left of center to first cut of rough. I have a slight fade with both heads, all similar. Here's my averages for both:

One metric I am not showing is club speed. For the Elyte X I was 94.6MPH, and the Elyte Ti club speed was 96.1MPH avg.

I don't really see much differences here on this data. I guess if you take into account the lower SS with the Elyte X, I still had the same carry distance despite the slightly lower ball speed. Steeper descent angle and a higher ball flight.

Honestly I like the feel of the Elyte X head more than the Ti head. I don't know why but it just feels like a more solid impact when struck.

I also hit both off the tee, and I will say the Ti 3W had the longest 2 or 3 shots over the Elyte X, but the Elyte X 3W was more consistent on dispersion. And to be fair, the distances were similar to the above for the most part. Maybe 5-10 yards longer total. Like 224-230 total distance.

Anybody see anything in the data above to push me one way or another?
X gets the nod on approach at a green. TI get the nod for down right distance and no care of hold.

I think you will see more height and greater decent angle with more spin outside.

I’m at the point where I’d consider the heavenwood or 7 wood.

Will give that a try tomorrow at the range!
Ball position comes in to play between deck and tee. More forward off the tee and tee height might need to be higher than you think. Typically I position same as driver.

If ball position is same off the deck as tee, then yes a lower tee height would be warranted.

I wanted to provide an update, although I only hit the Ti 3W twice last round, I finally hit a shot off the deck that surprised everyone I was playing with.

This hole was playing dead into the wind, after my drive I’m the last to hit (230 ish to the front), and my partners tell me you can’t get there in this wind go ahead and hit.

I made a good swing, and it’s this mid height penetrating draw that runs to the group ahead’s carts. Wow.

The other time I hit it, was a dead pull that went through the trees. So it’s not always the great shots, but the ball speed is there and it is long.
You really are hitting that well. Do you feel this will stay in the bag for some time?

Got in a very early round today and used the Elyte 3w two times. First shot was for my second shot on a par 5. I was in the FW and had 250 to the pin. I hit the ball really well and dead straight at the pin. I left myself a 20 yard chip shot which I put to 5 feet and made birdie. My next time using the 3w was off the tee. I hit a low line drive that went through the end of the FW and on the other side of the cart path. I was surprised it went so far as I did not catch it well at all. I was able to punch an iron to the back of the green from where I was.

I have been struggling with the Elyte off the tee and I cannot figure it out. When I use it off the deck it is absolute money for me. I think it is more mental for me now since I have struggled a bit with it. I am playing the same course again Monday so will have these shots again. Going to try and fit a range session in tomorrow to work on the 3w.
I do better typically when I tee it lower off the tee.

3w Apex UW 19* and 7w is a good setup for me.just saying.

You know I switch clubs all the time , but 3W stay in the bag the longest. RBZ to Rogue SZ to Epic Max to LTDx & Aerojet to Elyte Ti. This one will be in the bag for awhile.

Makes me wonder why I didn't go with the TI.

Four swings with the 3HL today. I think +1 at 17.5 is the right setting for me. Good trajectory, no ballooning, good blend of distance and control.

On 10 I had around 225 in on a par 5, a touch of wind, so I hit it as hard as I could and caught I maybe one groove thin but got it to the front corner of the green for an easy chip and near birdie.

Hit it off the tee on a short par 4 but blocked it a bit, caught a cart path, and wound up partially blocked by a tree but it held its line and would have been fine if not for the cart path.

Had another long par 4 into the wind and tried it hit another hard one on approach but nearly topped it swinging too hard. Still rolled to about 50 yards from the flag, not a bad bogey on the #2 handicap hole.

16 a long par 3 playing slightly uphill and was into a two club wind. It would take all of the 3HL to get there. Hit it well, low draw, just didn’t start it far enough right and caught a slope and kicked into a grass bunker just short of the pin. Was still a good shot, was not mad at it at all. Hard to be angry with it on a 200 yard hole.

Tee it up LOW. Can’t stress that enough. That made a world of difference for me.

Spent a few hours at the range today mainly focused on getting my Elyte better off the tee. What ended up being the best for me was ball forward like my driver and tee it up low! I was drilling mid high flight balls that were crushed. I tried multiple tee heights and any higher it went to the moon. Thank you to all three of you for the suggestions. I have a round scheduled for tomorrow and will see what happens off the tee. I did hit two off the deck on the range that were pure lol. I just laugh because off the deck should not be that easy.

You’re welcome. It’s an absolute dream off the deck. I found teeing it higher didn’t work for me and frankly not needed.

This game is so individual and that's awesome you found your sweet spot!

Awesome! I tried @Dougie’s high tee height this afternoon. Skied one ball (went 225 though), and got a skymark on the crown of my 3wood on the second. I’m not doing that again. Low tee only for me. The Elyte X is just too shallow of a clubhead to tee high.

I got a chance to play over the weekend but only got to hit the Elyte X 3W three times in the round. Driver was on fire so I only went 3w twice off the tee and once on my second into a par 5. It’s funny because although it was only 3 shots, I saw 3 very different things to love about the Elyte lineup and what it brings to the table.

On the third hole, there’s a bunker about 270 straight out and you really want to be around 250 up the left center. I stepped up with the Elyte X and made a confident swing. I hit it great, right out of the center and watched the ball launch like a rocket. Small draw up the center that finished in a perfect spot leaving a short wedge into the green.

I didn’t hit 3W again until the 11th tee. There’s water up the right so the perfect shot is up the left. There’s a bunker that’s about 215 to cover so 3W should be perfectly fine. Well I was thinking about it too much and trying to guide one in there. I hit it super low on the face up the left. To my surprise, the Tungsten Speed Wave saved my butt! It launched with enough height and speed to easily carry the bunker. I somehow hit it about 235 and had only a pw in on the second. Way better than I deserved!

The final shot was my second on 18, a long par 5. I hit a great tee shot up the left but had 218 over the water, 237 to the pin, and 250 to the back of the green. I pulled the Elyte X and went for it. Unfortunately, another poor swing. I hit this one low and very heely. Now I know this shot well. I’ve hit many here that end up two fairways right and way short. It launched nicely and although it went right, it finished still on the correct side of the cart path even with the front third of the green. I was again rewarded by the ai 10x face and tungsten speed wave with a fairly easy pitch from about 35 yards after a poor swing.

The Elyte X and the tech it’s packed with continue to impress and help me more than I could have ever expected.
