Callaway Elyte Fairway Woods

Really am loving the TI and Step Sole. Coming from rails on the COBRA F7 this is something I long for in all my fairway woods.

I can talk about distance with the Ti 5w but I have to use this post to talk about feel. Back when I had the 6g in the front weight port, I mentioned that the Ti felt like there was more behind the face. The only way I could think of describing that was “fuller”. I wasn’t a huge fan of it

Well after just over a month with the lighter 2g weight in the front, I’ve absolutely loved how soft it’s made this fairway feel. It’s like I can feel the ball completely trampoline and just rocket off the face. That sensation is felt on almost the entire face. I love the feeling of smoking one with the Ti. It might be the most satisfying feeling club in the whole bag.
It’s crazy how feel can changed your entire view on something. I mean you have really enjoyed the Ti since it has been in the bag, but with this weight set up it seems like it’s really working for you!

Have you compared it to the standard in terms of that feel? Im curious how much difference some see between the Ti and the standard version.

The Elyte X feels much more “solid” to me vs the Ti. They both have very similar performance to me, with the Ti maybe getting a few yards more overall distance. Speaking to feel though I prefer the Elyte X face. It is a noticeable difference to me.

I have not unfortunately

To my ear the core is a little softer and thwackier/carbony, especially on center hits. Ti is a little more metallic, powerful, and louder. Both are good, just different. Not sure I necessarily have a preference

Popped over to the range for some practice over lunch today and finished it off with three holes. This was my tee shot on 1 with the Ti 5w. After reading about @Muchmore putting a 2g weight in the front of his, I decided to try swapping my 6g weight back to the front port and my 10g weight to the rear. I had initially swapped them as I can spin woods pretty high, but to this point hadn’t seen the flight I’ve been wanting.

Well, folks, that has changed. Excuse my poor camera setup and not getting my full swing in picture, but the tracer on the ball is there and really with this one, that’s all that matters.

Absolutely NUKED to the middle of the fairway that left me with 133 to a back pin. Total distance was roughly 235ish with a bit of downhill help on the landing On the ensuing tee shot, another for the Ti, it was rinse and repeat. Same shot, same flight, just f****** perfect. 215ish to the middle of the fairway, which is what I would expect distance wise.

This club feels like a cheat code off the tee and I’ve already seen good performance off the deck on not great strikes. Once I get that down and comfortable it’s going to be automatic.

Great looking swing and the sound is sooo good.

I like the weight change for you...that sounded so pure

It was absolutely roasted. Couldn't hit it more on the screws. I absolutely love the sound of this club. Probably sounded even better since it was paired with a CT TruTrack 😉😂

In all seriousness, it is probably the best combination of sound and feel I've had with fairway woods. The GT2s feel great and sound fine, but I definitely prefer the pitch and tone of the Ti.

BANG! There we go dude!

You know I switch clubs all the time , but 3W stay in the bag the longest. RBZ to Rogue SZ to Epic Max to LTDx & Aerojet to Elyte Ti. This one will be in the bag for awhile.
I hit the Elyte ◊◊◊ yesterday cranked down to 14° for the first time at the PGA SS and was super impressed. I buy a new Callaway 3 wood almost every year and have the Paradym ◊◊◊ as well as recent ones from Mizuno and Titleist collecting dust in my garage. The Elyte in the TD or Ti version(haven’t hit it yet) might be the one that finally replaces my ‘14 X2 Hot 2Deep. I’m certainly going to buy one of the Elytes but I want to get them outside on the range first which will happen next week at my home club. :)

Has anyone hit the ◊◊◊ or Ti 3 wood with the Aretera shaft? They didn’t have one for me to try but I’m a sucker for upgraded shafts ordered with an OEM head.

I have not hit the TD or Ti with the Aretera. Everyone is different, but I tried the Aretera with the Elyte TD driver and it wasn't for me.

That was pounded man they sound so good!

The Elyte X 3 wood continues to impress me. I’m finding it really wants an aggressive swing for me. If I swing easy or let up at all I get the fat 175 yard shot.

I really think I need a 70-75 gram shaft in it, but not sure I need to drop that cash right now for minimal gains.

Ehhh, I'm the worst at buying golf clubs. I put together some things to trade in, but still would need to drop some money to get this in the bag. Of course, I then start to wonder if I really need a 3W at all. Two good shots had me pretty damn convinced, but it's been a few weeks.

Okay, I am unintentionally testing the limits on how low you can hit it on the face with the Elyte fairway wood. For whatever reason, I have been hitting it really low on the face the last few rounds and what is wild is that I am getting away with it every single time. I am not exaggerating when I say it feels like I am going to top it and it somehow gets airborne and is on play. All I gotta say is tungsten speed wave FTW.

We have had a few days of rain and has really saturated the ground. I got to the range this morning to get some work in and I am really shocked how the step sole handled the damp at times soft ground. I made some swings that were a little steep and while I won't be shattering any distance records. the ball was flying and landing to a flag I had no business being rewarded with.

I think the other part not talked about is how the step sole has really limited any twisting on heavier contact. Bad swings aside, the Step Sole time after time provides that relief and forgiveness where we typically don't pay attention to with a fairway wood.

TI folks - anyone finding the spin to be a touch on the low side?

One of my favorite thoughts is that I figured being a bonded hosel, I would hate the lack of adjustability. But it being non-adjustable and playing so damn well puts my mind at ease, which is great for people like me who indulge in the curiosities of golf equipment adjustments.

I pull out the Elyte 5 wood, and just hit it with almost no thoughts. Easiest fairway wood I've ever hit.
