Callaway Elyte Fairway Woods

Callaway Elyte Ti with Aretera EC1 stiff.

I don't have firm numbers, but this is just going off what I have been seeing on course. The range time was truly incredible. So so good, but on course everything is coming out a much lower window and seeming falling out of the air. Of course a good portion of this is my swing and its faults, but curious on others experience.

I am looking to add the Elyte 16.5 degree 3-wood HL. My primary use will be off the deck. I need to add height and a better trajectory than what I am getting with my 3-wood. I'm interested in good turf interaction. I haven't demoed one yet, but plan to do so soon. A couple of golf buddies said I also should check out TM's Q-35 version of the same club. I guess I should try both on a launch monitor. Has anyone hit both off the deck? If so, I would be interested in your comments. (FWIW: I'm an older golfer whose swing speed has dropped in recent years).

Have you compared it to the standard in terms of that feel? Im curious how much difference some see between the Ti and the standard version.
Would a 3HL ti vs 3HL x be of interest?

TI folks - anyone finding the spin to be a touch on the low side?
Not at all. But taking the 6g out of the front and swapping it with a 2g has almost certainly increased it for me. But I'm getting more distance than I did with my last 5w by like 15 yards so it's not like it's high spinning or anything, but I'm not noticing any lack of spin

Last time I had the Elyte Ti 16.5 (-1) and Elyte 15* on the sim I saw slightly lower spin with the Ti off the tee, and about the same as off the deck. Haven't noticed any issues with too little spin on the course.

Picked up the Elyte X 3 wood and there is nothing i can add to what i have posted and what everyone else has posted. I also picked up a core 7 wood after hitting the 3wood. It has been a while since i have had a 7 wood and i cant remember why i moved on from one. Played again yesterday after work and i cant believe how easy to hit the 7 wood is and how good the stock Denali shaft feels just super smooth. Goes high , long and at the target. Very confident in this club.

I would be really interested to see your feedback on an off swing day. These are just mind-blowingly forgiving.

Okay, I am unintentionally testing the limits on how low you can hit it on the face with the Elyte fairway wood. For whatever reason, I have been hitting it really low on the face the last few rounds and what is wild is that I am getting away with it every single time. I am not exaggerating when I say it feels like I am going to top it and it somehow gets airborne and is on play. All I gotta say is tungsten speed wave FTW.
I’ve seen the same thing in two of my 5 rounds so far with my Ti 5w. Two shots low out of the face. One went 220 off the deck and just this last Monday I hit one low that was a tight draw, landed short of the green on a par 5 and rolled up to the middle of the green. I couldn’t believe it, and still can’t believe how well it performs on those low strikes. It’s nuts.

Elyte 3W arrived and is shafted up. Excited to get this one in play next weekend after all the great reviews in this thread.

In typical THPer fashion @ttucliffhanger included a Flamingo head cover and some Dangerous Mullet swag!IMG_1357.jpeg

It was for me. But I need all the help o can spinning the ball and knew that could potentially be an issue.

Hmm maybe I should try a lower weight for front before giving up on it. Definitely seeing similar distances to the 3hl when I hit it well. Just too many dropping out of sky shots for me.

Pondering a setup of these fws.

Anyone gaming a Ti 5 wood and TripD 7 wood setup?

Whats the deal with the Ti fws? Are we finding them better than the std models?

Its not a better or worse thing imo. They've each got their own spot/niche with golfers depending on needs.

The Ti's are like the TD and Core had a baby. Deeper face like the TD, but the CG placement of the Core.

For me, the Ti launches higher than both the Core and the TD as well. Its a lethal weapon from the tee, but that launch makes it shockingly playable off the deck.

Its one heck of a blend for the person who likes to use a fairway from turf and tee.

Thanks for this! Yeah, makes perfect sense. Now you have me thinking maybe the 3HL instead of the 5 wood ti.

Thoughts on the std head 7 wood vs trip D? Think I’d want to TripD for the deeper face.

Ive got the TD 7W shafted up, its fun. The deeper face there is a preference for me as it makes it a little more versatile off the tee.

Still, it remains a lot of fun off the turf too. EASY launch, and scary fast low on the face with the Tungsten Speed Wave.

Honestly, the whole Elyte line is revolutionary when it comes to fairway design, they really are THAT good.

Thank you all.
Based on the feedback provided here, I picked up an Elyte X 3 HL. I was ecstatic to discover that it is as easy to hit off the deck as many of you stated. In only a few rounds, this club has made a big difference in my scores, and I couldn’t be more excited for the season. I thought I might need to loft up +2, but that has turned out not to be the case. I have never owned a Heavenwood, but I feel this HL must be the 5 wood equivalent.

I swapped the 6g back in the front today so I could try the 2g in my driver again…never again. I had a bad swing day all over the place but every shot I took with the Ti was a disaster. Putting the 2g in the front weight port was the best thing I did.

It could have been mental too since I already was having an awful day, but it just immediately felt different. The low strikes weren’t good, and it didn’t feel great.

Thankful I have that 2g weight to make it truly unreal for my swing

Got the Elyte's on the course finally. I played the 3HL, HW and 9wd. Tough course with some wind and even though is was sunny out, it felt kinda cool most of the day.

All I can say is that I had a riot with these FW's. So easy to find a fairway with them but I did have a miss or two but not many. If the wind was in my face, I played the 3HL or HW depending on distance. If the wind was at my back I played the HW or 9wd depending on distance. That 9wd is like throwing i real high dart at a target. It is similar to the HW, just shorter and a little higher. They all are like throwing darts but at different distances whether you are teeing it up or using them from the fairway. I only hit the 3HL off the tee today on shorter par 4's while using the HW and 9wd from the fairway.

I ended up shooting a 45/44 with a triple and double on the front nine. Had eight bogey's and one par on the back. Let's say my iron play or lack of and chipping cost me some strokes out there!

I don't think the Elyte's are any longer for me than the Ai Smoke's but I do like the turf interaction a little better but it is close for me. Again, my first time out so that may change! lol

Sooooo, all this gushing about the Elyte fairways left me with FOMO.
It’s under construction and I don’t have the right adapter on the shaft yet…soon.

For those of you who have followed along through my reviewing, I mentioned a few times how I felt like the confidence I have in these fairways would elevate my game, specifically feeling like I can go for par 5's in 2 and give myself easier up and downs for biride.

Well, let's set the scene from yesterday. Last hole of the day was a par 5 straight up hill and into the wind...about 60 feet of elevation change from the tee to the green. I found the fairway and had about 225 in. With the conditions I knew 5 wood wasn't going to be enough and I pulled 3 wood. Hit the most perfect little cut up the hill that landed middle of the green and rolled off the back. Lipped the eagle putt and easy tap in birdie. THIS IS THE DIFFERENCE. Before this club, I'm laying that up always, especially under those conditions. Truly a club that saved me a shot or 2 on just this hole alone.

Let's talk about another par 5 that happened earlier...again uphill and into the wind (25 foot uphill on the 2nd shot). I was in the rough but felt confident in hitting 5 wood. I proceeded to catch this low on the face..like loooow low. Still got a mid height flight that snuck by the greenside bunkers and ended up over the back of the green. A very easy chip that I put inside 8 feet and buried for another birdie. Another shot or 2 this fairway saved me with the confidence I had to hit it and hit it well.

I also hit the 5 wood off a few tee shots yesterday... I am feeling so confident with this club it's unreal!

Weather hasn’t been cooperating lately to get out and play and I am having Ti withdrawals. Did get to hit it on the range last weekend Saturday and man, it is just so addicting. I’m getting nice high bombs when off the tee which is great for the tee shots I need it for, and a bit lower flight off the deck. Think I can still find some more height there, just gotta keep getting used to the club and trusting the step sole
