Callaway Elyte Fairway Woods

The Ti has become near-automatic off the tee for me. It’s beating my driver in SG, and I’ve been raving about the Elyte + Nexus combo in driver.

I don’t know if it will out do the hybrid…but a triple diamond 7 wood is coming in for testing
Is the hybrid good? I will go back and read…being lazy. It looks nice. Reminds me of their old Razr tour.?…. One….which I loved.

It’s great…they have a new cog which I think is tremendous and adjustable weights…I haven’t hit it the best on course…user error more than club error

So after Ballyhack early this week I flew out to Arizona for 3 rounds of golf out here. During my time at Ballyhack I really struggled to trust my 3&5 Woods. I will say that it felt like the shaft hung back on me which would cause these blocks out to the right. Now there were times where I would hit them great but I really just haven’t found “it” yet even when I’d hit great balls.

Based on the above I searched through my equipment that I’ve not been using and noticed I still had an old Paradym 3 Wood and I swapped out the shaft in my signature with a LinQ White 8F5 that was in the Paradym. I brought both shafts with me on this trip but I obviously went with the LinQ first. It was night and day for my confidence hitting this setup off the tee. My launch was a little lower and it was dead straight for the most part. It was literally a go to club for me off the tee and I am now feeling comfortable/confident with the setup and the shaft load felt much better to me.

Needless to say I plan on looking for a new shaft in my 5W and having it installed for me. I’m elated with its performance during my 3 rounds here in Arizona.

More to come later on the 5W once I can find me a new shaft.

I don't remember the size of the Razr Tour but it's heftier than the Apex. The Elyte Hybrid gets UP and fast. I'm not bombing it, but it's high and straight.

The juxtaposition between the Elyte Hybrid and the Elyte TD 3w, for me, is funny. One is high and straight, the other is low and cuts.

Elyte Heavenwood is inbound.

Ok folks I am all in on the Elyte TI 5w!! Got the shaft built up and based on one outdoor range session, I have ALOT of excitement. This could finally get my fairway game out of career long hibernation. Ok, only one range session so have to temper that a bit here.

I have the UST Mamiya Linq red TSPX 7f4 turned down -1. I don’t play a 3w so this is my longest club after driver.

Man I love how this looks at address. The carbon crown has a slightly different weave pattern that makes it just a bit unique and I really like it. Combine that with the matte finish and it looks gorgeous at address. If reviews were just from a looks perspective this just wins.

Sound and feel is going to be really hard to describe. Quite honestly this is the first titanium fwy I have ever played. I dunno why but I was expecting it to have some sort of metallic higher pitched ting and it has none of that. This is a good thing. I can’t properly describe the sound, not a thwack, but a muted feeling and sound but it had some real heft to it. It wasn’t crunchy, and maybe hefty may be the best I can come up with.

I was hitting a really nice mid ball flight that was in a really good window. Off the tee i was seeing really good results on heelish strikes that seemed to have great distance. The toe strikes were drawing but not the snap hook that I seem to always get with a fairway. I can work with this. Hard to tell exact distance on the range but I would say it has no problem covering that 220ish carry distance Easily I would expect from this spot in the bag. The ease in which I was hitting repeatable shots was the best part.

I’d like to get this on and LM and on real grass to test the turf interaction as that will be the biggest factor for me. So far so good though with more work to do.

That looks SO GOOD!

First date with the TI 5w. Real course with real grass and not just driving range lies. I hope all our outings are like this first date. Pulled 5w 3 times.
1 - topped a driver off the tee which didn’t even get me to the short grass on par 5. 5w out of the long stuff got me back in the fairway about 200. I normally would be mortified of a fairway in this situation because I have no confidence I can make good contact. Success.
2 - 5w off the tee and this was a beauty right into the middle of the fairway. Sounded amazing, ball flight was mid-high with just the slightest draw. Left me perfect approach shot which I of course chili dipped.
3 - long par 5 second shot. No way to get to the green which was uphill 280 out. Fairway lie. I hammered it. Turned it over into the rough left but contact was really solid. Normally this is a trick or treat shot.

Yes it is a small sample but has me VERY optimistic.

Have you struggled in the past with a 5W?

Oh man. Mightily. Biggest selling point as it relates to me would be the step sole and the turf interaction. I never felt like I could make good contact off the deck with a fairway and sometimes it was just plain ugly with the earth that I would remove.
I don’t expect it to be some magic bullet but any assistance will not be turned away.

The Step Sole and Tungsten Speed Wave are legit with this line. Crappy swings aside, this club is as forgiving as anything I have ever played.

The 5W might be the most obnoxiously easy to hit fairway I’ve ever swung in my life.

It is easier to hit off the deck. I haven't had as many opportunities to do it but as I would have liked but results are more positive than previously.

It just might be that magic bullet tho Lol. These are the easiest fwys I've ever used off the turf and hit them so much higher as well.

Lol my wife always says she doesn't want any new clubs. Last year i got her a AI Smoke to replace her Cobra F9 driver which she hit well . She is hitting the AI Smoke way longer and in play. Early Mothers day present an Elyte X 5 wood. Went to the dome last night so she could try it before League tonight. She hit it well. Just got this text lol.

Hello my name is @bsbmike and I’m obsessed with the Elyte TD line

3, then 5, and now 7

Wow you got the entire family. Papa bear, mama bear and baby bear!
After how much I loved the 5 wood (from my love of the 3 wood) I HAD to try it…range day tomorrow

You were part of the sell for me
It's been a great addition to my bag. I hope it works as well for you. It's so forgiving, it's ridiculous.

Once I got the 5 wood on course and in some good situations, and how well it felt both off the tee and off the turf, felt like this would just add to the options for me. Gonna hit it today, but with the 5 wood I could hit it high, hit it low, do whatever I wanted, so thinking the 7 wood will fall in that line too. Struggled on course with the Elyte Hybrid so seeing if this will be a better option for me
