Oh happy day!!
Oh baby. That'll play nicely in the bag.
Oh snap, I didn't realize you've tried three versions! That's fantastic. The Ti face truly is addicting. Best fairway wood feeling I've EVER hit. It's been a little over 5 months now since getting my first fairway in over 5 years, maybe more.
Ive really enjoyed three of the models and I've gamed all of them on the course.
Elyte Core 3W:
Very forgiving and easy to hit both FW and Tee. For some reason, and I don't know what it was it just didn't give me what I was looking for ultimately. It's great, but just something wasn't right for me. I knew this line was a gem, so this is the club that started me down the journey.
Elyte TD 3W:
This was an absolute animal! Helped in the spin category and was just sending them down the fairways. I even had a few opportunities (recovery shots) to test keeping it low and under things. It excelled in both aspects and was the club that got me excited about changing the Top of my bag. I was always excited to pull this club for long approaches, recovery shots that still needed some distance to the green, or off the tee! Was there more out there? Couldn't resist and acquired the next. This one still remains on standby
Elyte TI 3W:
The animal that was the TD was also contained in this one. A little more spin, but not enough where it concerned me. Just up another level in all around performance. The interchangeable weights allowed me adjust the SW a touch heavy and bring the spin back down towards the TD. This unlocked another level.
The sound of this Titanium face is so addicting and the touch more forgiveness than the TD. It's a touch higher than the TD as well, but doesn't push me to be concerned right now. It pushed the boundary a little further out than the TD as well. I Haven't tried it or had the opportunity to try out the low recovery shots, but I suspect this will fair just as good. The deeper face like the TD and the seemingly more compact/eye catching profile of the Core is better to me as well. I'm also a fan of the matte crown and the way it sets up.
So can I ask what the gap is with your 5w and 5i? I know you just mentioned you can hit partial shots with the 5w (holy hell that's legit), so the gapping probably isn't even a concern. Just wondering what full swing gap between the two would beThe 3W Fairway spot had been brought back into my bag, was there something else?
Yes!
The TI5W was just a temptation I couldn't resist. Where would it fit? Would it be too much of a gap, or too little?
I had to find out and now the TI5W has also sustained a spot in the bag.
Over several rounds I was trying to figure out if I needed 2 FW's at the top and what would I need to give up in order to keep them. The TI3W took the UT iron position as I now needed something longer but now the bag was top heavy and over the limit. Wasn't sure for quite a while, but the two FW spots were becoming a very fun aspect of the bag. Gapping was an issue, yet there is a larger gap between the two of them up top. That's usually not a concern as that distance would be a layup with one, or go for it with the other.
This TI5W, I tell ya, is something else. Have pulled it on Tee Boxes and used it in the fairway quite a bit and now confident that it needs to stay.
Just yesterday I had a long P3 that I would normally pull my 4I. It was a touch windy and that 4I would probably have come up short (Didn't have it in the bag anyway to prevent use). So I choked down a bit and gave it a draw starting out over the creek and nestled in about 5 feet from the pin. Being able to pull this and now be confident it's going to hold the green solidifies the removal of the 4I for now. The TI5W is an easier club to attack with and now that I know I can adjust grip position for shorter distances...it's now bagged and ShotScope Tagged.
It's pretty amazing how far this club can reach as well! Have never thought about partial shots with a fairway wood like I do my wedges. I've started that process now on the range with the TI5W and it's been a lot of fun!
The bag is set, but wait...there's more! Minimore
Just checked for ya!So can I ask what the gap is with your 5w and 5i? I know you just mentioned you can hit partial shots with the 5w (holy hell that's legit), so the gapping probably isn't even a concern. Just wondering what full swing gap between the two would be
Being able to fill that gap with just a slight change to set up is so sick!!Just checked for ya!
It's 40-60yds across the three different spectrums of SS tracking
Now that I've found that I can partial the TI5W, I can close that gap pretty good I think. The shot I described before was 30 yards shorter than the P-AVG for the TI5W. Was able to cover with a two inch drop down the grip and not sail the green. Even though the 5W hasn't been around as long as the 5I, I've had about the same amount of shot data with each (15-TI5W / 16-Elyte 5I).
I don't find myself at the distance I had yesterday off the tee, so it might not come up a lot. I'm still going to start practicing the P5W just in case. If I stay on the boxes I played or move back, it may show up more.
It's what I enjoy with the wedges and practice with them so naturally this seemed like something to try. Now I don't expect it to work just like it did that one time, in band camp...but practicing it should prove another valuable tool. Plus it's fun and also trains me to swing confidently and not out of control, which is a good thing. Hard to keep that guy at bay, but good.Being able to fill that gap with just a slight change to set up is so sick!!

I didn't get the opportunity to use mine much at Ballyhack. It was either driver, UW, or iron off the tee. One shot that stood out was the 3w off the deck on 10. I was too far out to reach the green, but smoke one. @pumbaa got to hear it go by as I buzzed the tower. There's a few shots that still stick in my mind from Ballyhack and two of them was with this club. It was during the Alt Shot round. We started on the 7th hole, so our 9th was the 6th. If I was strong like @hedley_lamarr08 or @Jeff Spicoli I'd just pull driver and go at the green, but I lack their talent. For me, on that tee box, I decided to pull the 4W(which is what I refer to my 3W because I play it at 17°). It was one of my better swings of the day and it split the fairway up towards where the FW bottlenecks a bit. Perfect position, unless you are the two names I mentioned above.
Another one was the 2nd shot on 15 during the final round. We were a little further left off the tee than we normally play it, but took the 4W again and hit a nice high ball that landed just short right of the green. Don't asked what I did with the next shot, but that one was really good. Honestly, there's just something about this club that gives me some extra comfort, as long as the ball isn't below my feet haha
Yeah that thing sounded like a missile flying by my head. And it was probably 300 yards plus as well.I didn't get the opportunity to use mine much at Ballyhack. I hit that one a little lower than normal. It hit and ran out a little bit.Yeah that thing sounded like a missile flying by my head. And it was probably 300 yards plus as well.
