Callaway Elyte Fairway Woods

What's your normal carry distances on these? I know you are a SS animal, but I am curious.
I honestly don’t have good carry data on the 3 since I don’t hit it very often. However I’d say I’m confident having it carry 240ish and the 5 ti is about 220-230 consistently

Is it more of a 2nd tee option for you, or do you have confidence in hitting it off the deck? Same question for the 5...

For those of you with the Elyte in the bag, how often do you find yourself reaching for yours during a normal round at the normal courses you‘re playing? Is it merely a 2nd shot club for you, or do you use it off the tee as well?
Ti 3H is a second shot club for me primarily. I will grab it for tee shots on certain holes, or if I just feel like it, but normally my safe tee club is a hybrid. I will say it is a bomber off the tee when you catch one. I find that I get the best results with a lower tee height than I'm used to for a FW.

Slightly crazy thought, but the Ti HL turned down 1* could be really fun.

I‘m only slightly jealous of your ability to hit them haha. What instills the confidence? Looks or just pure performance? Like are you someone who doesn’t like a deep face so this helps, or the step sole design helping with turf interaction? Or is there something else?
Looks & the step sole are definitely part of it and yes, I'm not really a deep face fan. I've generally been able to hit fwys pretty well for the most part regardless of brand, but these are by far the best I've used. The ease to get them off the ground and how high I can hit them along with, at a minimum, 10 more yards over my previous just brews confidence. And they feel so darn good.

Today, I hit a 7W from 220yds over the trees of a dogleg to the green of a par 5 because of how quick I can get the 7W up in the air. I never would've tried that before. Also use it from 210 on a Par 3 to about 10 feet. And I've said it many times in here, the 3W is a beast and probably my favorite club in the bag at the moment. Now I just need to get the rest of the game working Lol.

With the 5W, I've found it to be mostly a second shot club. It really does wonders off the deck and I've found it gets tons of height to land softly. I've struggled with it a bit off the tee. That same height that I like going into a green gives me some struggles off the tee. With the ball teed up, it goes really really high. I'm sure in the hands of a more skilled golfer, one could easily mitigate that and flight it properly, but since I cannot execute that, I tend to use it more off the turf.

I will say off the turf the 5W is great. I almost always catch my FWs thin so the tech in the 5W with the speed wave really saves me A LOT. The only thing I wish 5W had was an adjustable hosel so I could adjust my gapping a bit. Since I took the 3W out in favor of the mini for now , there is a bigger gap at the top. That is a minor thing though and the Ti FW is there if I ever really wanted to go that route. For now the Core 5W is set.

Ordered the 11 wood yesterday on the Callaway site. Love the shallow face for hitting off a fairway. Noticed there was no checkbox for the 9 wood. Already have it though and also the 7.

Mostly a tee club for me currently. I lost a bit of confidence off the deck because I kept topping it. I've started slowing bringing it back in for second shots occasionally, but I've had such great success hitting my hybrid instead of the 5w on second shots that it hasn't been a real need to bring it back quickly.

Off the tee though 90% of the time it's an absolute rocket. The other ten is a mix of losing one being a little swipey and the dreaded top even on the tee

I've had a few moments of struggle with the tops here and there. Mostly because Ive always struggled with getting stuck in the turf. I have to remind myself the step sole is there so its ok if I get it a little heavy and let the design do some of the work.

Can confirm it is a nuke machine off the tee. Hit the range early this morning and started goofing around with my setup at address as a couple holes I like to let the Ti 5w eat call for a fade and at times I’ll hit a little draw. On hole 1 in particular this has me in a punch out spot. Opened my stance, took a swing and it was a perfect fade. Absolutely going to it tomorrow for the member/guest. Cannot freaking wait.

I just keep looking at that 3/4 spot in your bag (3/4 as in third and fourth) and can't help but feel like a proud dad lolol

I've gotta get this thing on a launch monitor sometime soon. The Elyte 3W is just a monster and I'm almost entirely convinced I hit it much much farther than I hit my driver. LOL.

I am using my 3W at least 2 times off the tee, and usually 1 or 2 times off the deck each round.

7W is rarely used off the tee as I have been opting recently for the Elyte 4H in those spots. I do use the 7W 1 or 2 times off the deck, and almost always on one particular par 5 when I am going for it in 2.

This is how I'm playing mine now. -1/D as I definitely need the help taming the fade some days. I also put the heavy weight forward. I am not the world's best ball striker, but in the stock config this club just wanted to launch the ball super high. Current settings I still get plenty of height, but not so much it's impacting distance.

I'd say for me it's probably 70/30. The 30% isn't lost balls but definitely me hitting the ball high and right of my intended line off the tee. Been pretty rock solid off the deck as FWs go for me in that spot. Don't even have to take a huge cut at it (very likely the source of my woes off the tee). Ball just moves off the face.

Well, I went ahead and ordered the HL with the double trade in credit.

I use the 3W off the tee quite a bit on shorter courses and more demanding tee shots. I have zero hesitation to use it as a second shot club as well. It performs so well and almost effortlessly in either situation for me.

The addition of the 7w to the bag has meant even more tee and second shots happening with a FW than I have ever had.

Nice. I know you're a higher speed player than I am so I'm sure you picked a shaft you knew. I went with a 60g Charcoal to try and match the 50g driver shaft. Latest fitting says I need to be squarely in the 70g range for FWs, so I may tinker with that a bit.

Currently playing rentals at a course in Montana, they have one of these three woods, the core model, in the bag, and it is an absolute hammer even in regular flex

Ordered the Charcoal 70x half an inch shorter. I've hit 3 woods the best with a shorter shaft. Will also have a TPT shaft coming soon.

My fitting confirmed that I need a shorter shaft as well than the stock offering. I'll be choking down a little more until I can get it cut down.

You are going to LOVE the TPT. The feel is so dang good

Not shocked they have decent rentals over that way lol
