Callaway Elyte Hybrids

It sounds like the Elyte has a much hotter face than the M3 I've been gaming! would it be weird to carry 2 4h's in the same bag lol
Elyte like as a whole have so much heat in them. Hybrids adding to that should be a surprise to no one!

If I'm being honest these 2 post from y'all are pushing me heavily into the hybrid over 7 wood camp!
I’ve never played a 7w so I can’t help you there, but people swear by them.

So far this year though, I swear by the 4h. This is the first year I’ve ever had a hybrid in the bag and I don’t think I’ll ever be without one moving forward

The Elyte 4H has made me rethink my set up. Anti Hybrid to Team Hybrid.

I was anti hybrid and went the UW route instead. Still love the UW, but the Elyte hybrid pulled me back into the hybrid camp again.

Same situation here, I have not gotten along with them personally. This has been one that’s finally found a permanent home in my bag.

It’s absolutely marvelous off the tee for me when I need that 220-230 number, and I finally had some confidence build up and pulled it off the deck the other day to go at a par 5 in a fun round. 240 out and I ended up about 20 yards short and in a good spot to score. Been really pretty cool having a club that I can count on in that 220 + range

I was never a hybrid fan. Ive been using a driving iron in that slot for the past few years. The 7 wood is so trendy I almost sold myself on one. I think it's a great option if it's a good fit for you. However I already have a pretty high trajectory and often play in windy conditions, I just know the 7 wood wouldn't be a good fit for me. This hybrid is not like the others I have used, hits bombs and has been so straight.

Having a hard time deciding between Elyte Or Elyte X 4h

Hoping to test one on a sim at a store soon and make a decision

The Elyte 4h continues to impress me from a variety of lies. Used it twice off the tee during my last round and hit two excellent shots. One soft fade which left me a great line into the green for my second and one soft draw which also left me a great line into the green. The workability off the tee is something I am really enjoying.

Also used it after a wayward tee shot on a par 5 where I needed to keep the flight low-ish, but had to make up some ground. Hit a nice low bullet that put me inside 150 after I was well outside 250 to the middle.

Yeah that’s some nice work there sir! The 4 is sitting at the top of the list pick up next. So with the heavy weight it the toe is it hard to work it back the other way, or does the ball just not move as much?

I haven’t found any issues in getting it to work both directions, which has been really nice.

Another point for it and I like the low flight ability as well. You’re a **** good salesman, just so ya know 🤣

It depends on what you like and your swing. I do better with hybrids most likely because of shaft length. I feel I can control it more than a fw.

I had a 7w and 4h in the bag previously and pulled the 4h when accuracy was needed. Even if the 7w went a little further.

I have swung the Ai Smoke and it was okay i didn't hit it bad, step dad has it, but if I'm thinking about it I like the 4h off the tee way more. I know how I want to swing it and get the outcome I want. I think kicking the idea around on here helped me realize it was the 4h all along just got blinded by that fancy 7w shine.

oh yeah man @Muchmore @bsbmike and @THE BOV are making it easy with all the info they're throwing out there for me. I'm just saying you should be be Talking to Callaway for a commission with all the work you've done since 2X came back .
My commission is seeing the success people have with their new weapons

I got my demo 3 H of the X hybrid today and took it to the range. I made a couple of adjustments at home and then stupid me left my wrench at home when I went to the range so I couldn't make any adjustments.

I fight being steep and over the top. I had put the weight in the heel before I left home and was stil hitting a high fade. it was a higher ball flight than my G425 but distances seemed about the same. Kind of hard to judge visually but I am working on ball position and trying to be more shallow.

I want to see outside activity with the weight in the toe. It almost sounds counter productive but I kind of feel the momentum of the toe weight actually might help me close my toe faster once I get the swing momentum moving from some practice swings in my back yard.. It might be a tossup for me but shallowing out was helping my G425 be quite a bit straighter but I'm going to up the loft and lie to match my G425 since the X is only 18 degrees in the stock setting. I do think the Denali shaft will be more stable and consistent than the Alta once I get my settings locked in.

I’ve been struggling with the Elyte hybrids recently for some reason. Today I hit the 5h on a long par 3 and got a super weak toe-y fade. Then pulled the 4H from the rough twice. First one just got caught up in the rough and went no where. Second one I hit well, but had a bad fade as well and got me in trouble OB.
The Elyte core 7w was far better for me today.

I really need to figure the hybrids out again. Hybrids have always been a little hit or miss for me, but I was getting along with these earlier spring, and I’m just lost now with them. I know it’s a “me” issue, but don’t know what is the real issue. Maybe I've lost the ball placement in my stance a bit.

When my fade/slice gets bad with my long clubs it's because I'm too steep. I got advice today to shallow out and it was a game changer for me because I didn't realize it. I also realized I need to set up slightly closed with the ball forward in my stance and try to keep my front shoulder closed as long as possible to keep it from flying open. It's a big struggle for me to do that consistently.

Thanks. It was as I was typing my post last night and thinking over those shots, that I realized ball placement may have been a little too far back from when I was hitting them well. I may have to do some experimenting again on the sim with a long hybrid only session. I’ve also been on a “shallow out” mission with my swing, but on course I am sure I fall back into the old ways at times.

It’s been the bane of my existence in my swing.

I think I have a real mental problem swinging shallow when the ball is in 8" thick rough and I can barely see it. :ROFLMAO:

I hit the Elyte 3H for the first time last Thursday. I didnt have time from the time it arrived to first tee to take it to the range. I was hoping to hit it a bit and decide if I wanted to push it up +1 to 20* to gap with my woods like my driving iron.

Hit @Golfgirlguru 's 4H well and so figured it would be similar just with the appropriate shaft. Boy was the Elyte good. With the correct shaft I didnt worry about losing it left as much but I could turn it over ok. Only lost one right when I moved the ball a bit too far forward aiming for the draw and think I came OTT. Off the tee and fairway thing is pretty straight right out of the box. Out of the rough it is also pretty straight unless the rough is super long (I did hit it out of some fescue and it sort or pushed right).

I used it a ton both off the tee and from the fairway. The first course, Jay Peak, has a lot of forced carries and I want more height and make sure I'm not hitting approaches into the crap. Back 9 is also very narrow and I found more fairways with the hybrid without sacrificing distance since it was a pretty long course. At Spruce Peak, the course has a lot of elevation changes and is a bit like mountain target golf, the hybrid was clutch! The below shot was uphill a ton but then downhill with the hybrid. I landed it short and let it feed onto the green.

I could also grip down a bit and keep it in play. Had a great 3H on a blind and narrow hole on the back 9. Big ridge to carry then slightly downhill to an elevated green. This kept me in play. It's about a 40' drop left.
