Callaway Elyte Hybrids

How are people liking the Optifit 4 hosel, compared to the older style hosel?

They appear very similar in appearence, except for the top cog and the markings.

To me, so far, it seems more complicated and not as adjustable as the older version................am I missing something?

My miss is a right push/fade.............what settings would be best to combat this?
Swapping the weights should help with this as well.
I like the new adapter. More refinement and adjustabilty is great. I have my 3h in loft -1 and lie +1. It really works for me. Lots of distance and still easy to hit.

Hit two absolutely fantastic shots with the 4h yesterday. One was from about 205 out to the green on a par 5 where I needed to play my tee shot somewhat lateral to get a good line at the green. Landed dead middle fairway. Went 209 yards

Second was the second shot on the longest par 5 of the course. Wanted to go Ti 5w but was afraid I’d just catch the top of a tree, so went 4h and hit a perfect shot to leave me about 70 yards to the flag. This one went 196 into the wind.

Also used it on a hole I made an absolute mess of and again crushed it and got 226 total.

Thing flat out performs and feels so good when struck well

I could take the adapter off both shafts and do a flip flop to get the full correct one on the correct head, but I really don't see any difference other than the markings.

The old one only has the line on it, the new one has the LOFT and LIE markings.

I was bored this past weekend, and had some time...................did the flip flop of the adapters between the shafts.
Just to satisfy my OCD and have everything correct.

Working great, got 4 rounds in with the Elyte hybrid and it's performing great. Easy to hit, great distance.

I got bored and wanted more forgiveness. Went club shopping. The Titleist GT3 with Mitsu black 7x is now…..

Elyte 22 degree with LINQ Black 100F5. I’ll know how well I actually hit it tomorrow.

For the record…. The reviews in this thread lead me this way. The trading and such only cost me $67. Had to give it a go at that price.

The Elyte X 4 and 5 hybrids have been in the bag for every round of golf this year since I got them. I don't always hit both every round, but they do tend to get the call up on the long par 3s that need 185+ carry.

My miss with hybrids have always been fat shots that just never get off the ground. I don't recall hitting one shot with these hybrids that didn't get sky high. I'm not always the most accurate with them, but distance carried has never been a problem. When I really go after it with these hybrids my miss is a fade. These things just will not hook, and that's with the heavy weight in the heel.

I'm not entirely sold on the shafts in them currently so may do some experimenting over the fall/winter in that regard. The AD-DI shafts just feel a bit loose at times.

I'm excited to see what the next iteration of these bring. It will take a lot to improve much on the performance the Elyte hybrids bring to the table.

I didn't even hit this before I got it yesterday. I immediately put the LINQ Black 100 F5 and just left the settings in neutral at 22 degree. I was in the rough on a par 5 today and took the head cover off. The plastic was still on the club head :ROFLMAO: I gave it the good ole Hedley try from 235 out in the rough and hit a really tight draw to about 10 yards short. Its got some staying power for a good bit. Really liked the limited use today.

I did hit a bump and run green side today and it was to fast off the face. I'll have to adapt to this

Went to the range today and had a shocking discovery.

The adjustable weight is more effective in this club than any club I have ever used. I had the heavy weight in the toe and some really nice high cuts were happening. I couldn't turn it over. I moved the heavy weight to the heel and some massive high draws just happened. I didn't change anything as far as grip, alignment, intent, stance.. just the weight. I didn't tough the adapter frankly because its new and I don't know a damn thing about it. I'm going to study it now though I don't feel any changes need to be made.

This was so easy to hit 200-210 consistently with minimal effort, I can't help but ask, why don't I play a 5 hybrid as well?

For me the Elyte 5h was just a little too high launching and spinning

Kinda afraid of that. Not like I can't knock down this 4h. Its super friendly in that regard

I agree that the 5H results in a high and spiny ball. It’s still more consistent for me than my 5iron though, so I’ve bagged it all year. I’ve been tempted to pickup a Ventus black to see what it would do in the 5H though.

I have a LINQ Black 100F5 in the 4 hybrid and its so smooth. Its a shaft worth a look.

That was not on my radar. It is now.
I load heavy and am around 115 with driver. That’s what was recommended.

They have the LINQ blue that was in Mizuno STZ and probably available as a pull cheaper. It’s loads easy but it’s lagging

Went to the range again. Not a fan of the adjustable hosel. It works. Just not as clear to me as the other one.

Flight was consistent of what I saw yesterday. Worked on some knock down shots. Playable on an easy swing from 210-180. I don’t need the 5H. This will serve purpose for anything that is needed for a hybrid at these distances.

I'm stupid for not trying this hybrid sooner. Unless this place has me test something next year there is no chance I place anything in the bag around the 22 degree area other than this club. So easy to work in either direction, high shots are absolutely no problem. Multiple uses today with a +0.07 strokes gained today against scratch. Very forgiving when hit high on the face as well.

Had intentions of playing the the adapter on the course today but didn't have a need. Two shots in regulation today had excellent results. Very nice high flights with minimal curve. Random guy I paired up with liked it pretty well. Said he would go hit them in a higher loft (slow swing speed needing the launch)

I dropped two balls in the semi-rough and put some "swing fast but not hard" swings into play. The flight was absolutely straight. A tree at 175 yards seemed like it would be in the way but the ball went over and came down softly on the other side. The other climbed a little higher than I would hope but hit the front of the green. I was concerned that spin would drop off and the ball would come out flat and hot. That did not happen.

Before the season is over, I'm going to put the cog in to ++ lie at stated loft instead of + lie - loft. I am just seeing it fade a bit too much again. Crazy how my swing has seemingly changed this year. Went from - lie - loft and now going to ++ lie. Swing changes without even knowing you're changing anything is kind of frustrating. The hybrid will prevail though! It's been a rock all season

I am disappointed in myself for waiting so long to try it. My 3H is held together with super glue over the weights. This is the obvious replacement for it should it finish imploding.

Reviews in here got me the same way and I haven’t regretted it at all!

This right here is everything I love about the 22! It’s just so freaking versatile that I can’t imagine the new-new that’s going to replace it! It really is going to be interesting to see if what’s coming will be better and it’s hard to think there is a way to improve upon this!

They will come up with something. The boundaries will be extended in some way.

I will give my thoughts immediately after I have finished hitting them 😂

Being able to release hard and not hit a pull is a great feeling off the tee with the 3h. I’m still playing in double flat lie with the heavy weight in the heel. This is a club I should probably just ride with but into next year, but the step sole in the Super Hybrid is tempting.

I’m staying put with mine. Considering a 3h because my present one is held together with super glue hahaha

I ordered a super heavy 17g weight to see if I can slap it in the heel and an actual draw out of these hybrids. Current ball flight is straight, or if I lean on it I get a baby fade. I would love to get a dependable draw out of these hybrids. And I could use a little more head weight after chopping down the shafts about ¾” from stock.
