Callaway Elyte Irons

I've been wanting to hear more from you on these as well. I think many would have been surprised to hear you end up in this direction in some regards. After taking some swings with them, I'm really not. So I can't wait to hear more.
Me too....
There will be more...

Nice informative and detailed write up about the new irons. I am definitely interested in the HL and the X.
I hit all three last night in the garage sim. The HL I have is the 5 iron, which is not a club I ever enjoy hitting. But it was pretty easy to hit I and I couldn't complain at all about performance. The X though, that thing is a launcher. I know it's the stronger lofted iron of the lot, but I'll tell you what, I launched it higher than the other two models. Not by much, just over a degree more with the 6 iron. Launched higher and hit a slightly higher peak height. Came away really impressed with it, more than I thought I'd be.

I love seeing this and the excitement it brings for you in 2025. Based on minimal rounds it looks like you lost a little distance in the longer irons, which obviously could be you didn't hit them as much. Would you say that is a good guess?

These really look good and I think I will be trading in my Ai Smoke irons for a set of these!!!

Great write up @ddec
Very good guess, if anything I'd say I saw a 2-3 yard difference which we both know could be from quality of strike. Right now, the plan is to change nothing from a yardage perspective- my 6 iron was my 190-200 club in '24, and will be the same as I move into '25.

Right there with you and wanted heavier myself. I don't think the heavier weight iron class is what these are geared for golfer wise. But man do they work when a smooth swing is applied. (Ummm, that didn't happen in Cali :ROFLMAO::mad:)
I'm good with light I've gone lighter myself.

There is a difference in footprint between the various different lines but the standard model is on the smaller side.
Did you hit the Ai Smoke last year and how do they compare in sizing from a top line perspective?

Now you can get rid of those iron covers too....phew.

Not enough to give you an opinion on distance/feel. If memory serves they are smaller topline, but @Dougie can probably snap a picture for you to compare.

These look so darn good!!! Stop trying to sell me even more. I am already all in!!!
I tried finding my random Ai Smoke 7 iron for some comparison shots. I'll dig through some clubs and see if I can. Just to push you over that edge a little more.

They coming Cap. Trying to drag it out a bit and not throw everything all in right now. It's hard ;)

Is the X a replacement for the Big Bertha irons?

Oh **** those look good. Game improvement irons that don’t look like they have training wheels.

🤯

hey man, some of us need training wheels

Thank you for the write up @ddec I really like the look and appearance of these irons. I love the badging and the refined edges that does not scream game improvement and should present nicely in the bag.

I love this little tid bit from the article. \"they developed a new Tri-Sole design featuring a sharper leading edge and some chamfering on the trailing edge. \" My time with the Ai Smoke irons was short lived and that was 100% due to the turf interaction. I felt like I had to \"pick\" the ball and that was not good for my game. I love that they addressed this and I am looking forward to the feedback from The Grandaddy guys who have these in the bag.

Forgot to mention that there are 4 of us in these:
- @JB @Dougie and myself in the Standard heads
- our MVP @Joshnoble01 in the X (he's on the left coast and not awake yet :ROFLMAO: )
Wake him up. I’m interested in hearing more about the X. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

A HUGE difference here...such a great addition!

Haha- we're all excited.

I can tell you that I had the same thoughts about hitting them when I got a chance to swing them. I don't do as well with the larger head, but they gave me the same sound/feel thoughts as the standard head.

How good looking are these??

Elyte photography skills!!

They look good without being too chunky to the eye (especially for this sweeper). The sound has a soft click. Much better than the Smoke and very similar to Paradym. Not as soft as Apex but nobody would expect that. I like the sound.

These are seriously good looking irons, and in my mind may be the highlight of the new lineup, and I haven’t hit them.

Coming from two sets of Srixon irons, the v-sole incorporated into this line makes it a huge contender. I don’t hit ball first and need that sole shape.

Their size matches up very well with the ZX lineup.

Finally, we were all surprised by the pricing. They match up or beat all other GI irons in that regard.

These deserve serious looks in 2025.
Exactly why I thought. I less-expensive offering to the ZX5. Sure looks similar to me- and I say that is a VERY impressed way.

Man, those are some good looking irons!
