Callaway Opus SP Wedges

Played on Monday and one shot stood out to me. I had 88 yards to the flag which is in between my 58 and 52. I was able to control one with the 52 without airmailing the green. Landed pin high left of the flag about 10 feet from the hole. While I lipped out the putt and made a tap in par, it gave me a lot more confidence in these wedges.

The pricing on these on CPO is insane right now. If you need a wedge refresh for the new season, those are great options.

So I was lucky enough to play on Tuesday afternoon. The course was using temporary tee boxes and temporary greens because its February in Wisconsin so there was no putting. And even though my focus was mostly on hitting the new Quantum driver, the SP wedges were insane for me. I was hitting the distances I wanted every time. I'm almost tempted to pick up a 48 with as much success as I'm seeing with them. Some of my favorite wedges ever.

I did not need to have this information 😆

A little fun on the grinding wheel today with these

I need some of this in my life

Both 54/58, I wanted to shave down the spine in the x grind on both of them, so I can get that leading edge down a little bit more, but maintain versatility as I like to open the face.

And now I have to figure out why to stamp on them since I ground off the lofts 🤣

you went deep! I love it.

Cross posting this video. This is with the 54.14° W grind. This is exactly what I want full swing wedges to do. Give me a chance to take short out of play and let the ball come back.

Perfect window and exactly where I would hope the height would be.

I have not posted nearly enough in this thread, and that is fully on me.

I have not hit the SPs a ton in the garage, but have been more recently with playing some sim rounds. I am learning that I actually cannot hit the 56 because it has gone over my net on half of the swings :ROFLMAO: thankfully I have done no damage to anything.

The 52 though has been absolutely fantastic. First and foremost, the feel of these wedges is fantastic. Not soft, but also not harsh. Paired with the Chrome Tour is an absolutely pleasant feel. It is also an absolutely automatic wedge for me from 100 yards. And that is exactly what I look for with my 52. I can hit partial shots to any distance I want, and I am looking forward to getting outside so that I can actually swing the 56 without fear of damaging my garage door. Lol.

Hoping to get some chipping practice in this afternoon.. it’s been too long and I’m itching to be reminded of what the Opus SP can do in the short game!

Just saw this and took a look for myself, such a good deal right now!

Every experience I have had on CPO the clubs are in far better condition than advertised as well!

Holy crap. It's a good thing for my wallet that none of the LH options on there are +1" length. There is a 60.12X grind that is screaming my name. I've never gotten along well with them, but dang.

I have been using the 54° S a lot, but I have been using the 58° C in the bunkers, and I have been pleased with the results.

These are an absolute upgrade over the Opus that I previously had in the bag.

Tried to muscle a few of these today and it was a bad decision more than bad performance. Really soft wet greens and I ripped a 60 degree wedge back off the green at 95 yards. That doesn't happen often. Chips and pitches were really nice. Hit the flag stick once and almost holed out a couple of other times. Very happy to see how the game progresses using these

My 57* out of the bunker has been FABULOUS! Love the X grind! Through the turf and sand, so smooth. I've put in a lot of work but this is hands down the best wedge I've ever played.
