I need to do that yet too!I didn't have my mind set on any finish. So I waited until my fitter asked me at ECPC. I went with the black. I did add some color so I can distinguish between my 2 wedges.

I’m a high ball hitter like you, never played the Opus Platinum, but did play the standard Opus. And you will like the ball flight.
Thanks gents! I was looking at them while I was in GG today. I think I like the look of the SPs better looks wise but they both look the same over the ball. The lower flight is super tempting though. May need to test one out for science. The flatter flight with high spin is really going to work well with your swing.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well the black finish has held up on my Opus SP wedges!I didn't have my mind set on any finish. So I waited until my fitter asked me at ECPC. I went with the black. I did add some color so I can distinguish between my 2 wedges.
Me too. Mine are still looking good even after a lot of sim practice.I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well the black finish has held up on my Opus SP wedges!
I love the look of a black wedge, or irons, I just know I'm going to high toe or hosel on and then look down and see that mark over every shot. The mental scars of sh***y swings are enough for me, I don't want the club to remind me as well.I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well the black finish has held up on my Opus SP wedges!
So happy for you!!!...aaand ordered. Going a half inch long pushed the timing out to the same time window so went with the black finish.

That has been my fear with black finish clubs in the past. I’m really glad that I took the dive here because they’ve been so durable so far.I love the look of a black wedge, or irons, I just know I'm going to high toe or hosel on and then look down and see that mark over every shot. Thanks! Wait is gonna suck but I had a online-only gift card that covered everything but the tax & grip, so it was a no brainer. Used my Cally points to cover the difference. Two new clubs out the door for <$80 so far this weekend. Question is whether or not I'm finished. So happy for you!!!
We are never finished, that’s our toxic trait. Thanks! Wait is gonna suck but I had an online-only gift card that covered everything but the tax & grip, so it was a no brainer. Against the RTZ that I tested directly against these in mid December. I would agree with the same distance but flatter ball flight and more grab. I'm having to adjust my short game because the wedge and ball (Chrome Tour) are checking up so quickly.Has anyone done any launch monitor testing with the Opus SP on partial shots? I’m curious how much the higher CG actually changes launch window vs something like a Vokey or Jaws. On the course I’m seeing a noticeably flatter flight on 40-70 yard shots and the ball seems to grab quicker.
It was lower and spinnier than both Opus and SM10 last time I did this. Granted, the grooves on the SM10 were more than a season old.Has anyone done any launch monitor testing with the Opus SP on partial shots? But overall seeing a bit lower flight which is pretty cool.It was lower and spinnier than both Opus and SM10 last time I did this. Granted, the grooves on the SM10 were more than a season old.
I was flopping my 58° quite a bit today. Came up short on most. But gave me a putt. Had a few decent splashes too. My iron game left me in lots of place to put the wedges to use.I discovered a use for the 60 degree. Flop shots. I hit 3 today exactly where I wanted them to go. Nothing more than 10 yards off green for this club from now on![]()
I almost think my issues is trying to hit down on them to much. That's likely why my spin rate has been so high as well. Going to focus on shallowing out the wedge to see what happens this upcoming weekI was flopping my 58° quite a bit today. Came up short on most. But gave me a putt. Had a few decent splashes too.
