Speed. Every golfer wants it. Whether you are a young beginner golfer trying to swing out of your shoes, or an aging golfer wishing for a few more miles per hour so that you can hit the ball like you are 20 years younger, and yes, everyone in between. Players go through speed training, hit […]

Staying up late paid off - I've been reading about this driver over and over all night.

The article puts it all together so well...great job @ddec !

I love everything about this driver - the Tri-Force tech story, the OG Callaway scripting, the looks...probably to me, the best-looking Callaway driver ever - and I've owned quite a few of them.

It's going to be a long 124 days until Shaft Up...but I'm going to really enjoy hearing about this driver from Team Our Time and absorbing as much info as I can until then.

Great write up @ddec ! Can't wait to see which model each member of Team Our Time was fit into and how they performed!

Prime target as of right now.

Great writeup @ddec - this driver looks incredible and can’t wait to read the reviews (particularly interested in the face)!

@Papa 3-Putts - agreed that the TD Max may be the ticket!

I’ve spent the better part of 2 years loving my Darkspeed driver…only to spend the next 4 months looking down upon it in disgust. 🤣

As one of the East Coast guys I woke up early to join the chat. As one of the first to get to use the new lineup ask questions if needed. Some review stuff coming shortly.

Finally! Great article @ddec well done

What head and loft are you in? Unredacting that WITB probably will save yall some repeat questions. :ROFLMAO:

I'm actively working on all that now.

9 degree Triple Diamond Max. My favorite wood of all time as a high spin player that needs the forgiveness.

The day is here. The NDA embargo is over. Finally!

Kona. The internal "code name" given to the 2026 Callaway Quantum driver. The big dog. Funny enough that code name was named after the bosses dog. Let's take a little dive into my perspective as the staff writer article will cover ALL of the detail that I may miss.

Stated directly from Callaway: THIS IS THE BIGGEST TECH INTRODUCTION SINCE THE 2016 EPIC WITH JAILBREAK.

Bold Statement. To this point, I agree fully.

When jumping into this years driver the team had a goal. It was defined by a simple glance of the ball speed charts and winners on the PGA Tour. "SPEED IS EVERYTHING!"
Forgiveness is always at the forefront of product creation but the need for speed forced the team to "think of speed differently."

The creation of products is always tough and takes hours of work and dedication. They created a formula that is simple. We can't regulate what doesn't exist. So lets make something never seen before.

Welcome Tri-Force. A multi-face material the industry has yet to see. Why? Well the face is 74% titanium. A commonly used product. It is 14% carbon. Not a stranger to the industry but some questionable application as a stand alone material. The other 12% is what was created. "Poly-mesh." Only Callaway knows what it is. It is the binding "material" that allows the Titanium face to have the carbon attached to the back allowing for great durability.

A new team was assembled to create this new product from the ground up. A new look. A new set of weights. The tracks and weight ports not present on my driver. To create this new product the team used Ai to create over 59,280 face designs. (Yeah that is the exact number we were given) Moreover there were approximately 2.3 million impacts. What was discovered is how the different materials played a part in maximizing ball speed across the face while optimizing forgiveness and usability.

Titanium is the primary ingredient and workhorse. It works best on blunt impact. Carbon fiber works best when stretched. After the face stretches into the carbon it gains and added rebound the carbon. The poly-mesh is the middle layer between the two allowing them to work together as 1 piece. The Titanium is now 14% thinner than last years with the connecting material as 0.002mm thickness. Its there, its effective. Its small enough that you can't really see it.

2000 hits at 125mph club head speed proved the durability. This was also proved by World Long Drive professionals being able to get a weeks worth of use out of the driver.

The goal of all this work was to manage micro-deflections and to force all of that energy into the golf ball.

The multiple models are available on the website and in the staff article. Of interest to me is the hidden weight in the back of the driver that is 13g with a 1g weight to counter the empty space.

For the first time on release the Triple Diamond max is available. I was fit into this model. Its the only one I hit. Its the only one I needed to hit. Designed to be a neutral face angle that is low spin. The Opti-fit cog remains the same. The reason is simple. Its very effective and with the multiple head designs and lofts there is something for everyone. The driver isn't designed to hit off the deck so changing into the adapter from the hybrids and new to this year woods isn't necessary. Being completely honest with the group of Grandaddy participants, it was also noted that it just wasn't worth the investment for the fitting carts. Makes perfect sense to me. More to follow.

Great write-up @ddec

If there is any insight into how this compares to the new Mizuno driver face, they seem to be on similar routes with the reinforced titanium faces?

The Quantum driver adjustable weight port is very well concealed in the back of the club. It doesn't look adjustable at all

Quantum driver looks are excellent as you'd expect from Callaway. The Max Triple Diamond is a no frills. No markings for alignment on the separated black session just above the face. The carbon crown remains visible and is well polished but not distracting. The face sits square behind the ball with minimal alignment of the three sections in a non-closed V shape for the middle of the face with a couple of lines and the word "Tri-Force" written at the bottom. Truthfully, until writing this, I didn't know it was written there.

The sole of the club isn't busy. Carbon is visible tech. The weight directly behind the face is the traditional circle inside of the flat hexagon shaped area that would remind you of a weight itself. Aerodynamics weren't overlooked with many steps on the bottom of the head. "Max" text is written with the well known 3 diamonds thru the middle of the sole. The adjustable weight in the back of the club is fixed in place with an internal adjustable weight that isn't visible.

Overall, this is the best looking Callaway driver I have seen. It rivals any company in looks. No visible gimmicks or face paint. No more sliding weight tracks to collect debris. Just a great sounding "thud" on impact that isn't what I consider high pitched. It sounds like... a Callaway even with the new face.

A small sticker is molded into the bottom of each club head that is barely noticeable. Old eyes wont be able to read the small print. The story of the driver face and code name are present.

Im sure this was already noticed but looks like Powercore is a slight upcharge ($125). Id argue that’s a steal compared to Ventus ($350). Great on UST and Callaway on offering that!

The Triple Diamond models look REALLY good.

The Tri-Force face is is an evolutionary game changer. The speed and consistency off the face is something I’ve never experienced. I it one low off the face a few days ago and still maintained about 250 carry (I average about 260). It’s the real deal.

Sim session: I've had it with me twice but had to cover it up so I only got to really use it one time. The results were really interesting and even more so, promising.

Not swinging as fast as possible I was getting ball speed around 162 at 9 degrees in the stock setup. The ball was straight with little curve and the dispersion circle tight. The front to back was 10 yards and left to right was 5 yards left to 10 yards right. Aim small, miss small is the theme of golf for me this year. This does it.

I was feeling frisky so I pulled out the LINQ 80G F5 at 44.5 inches. It has a tour COG on it to lower loft 2 degrees. That's right. At 7 degrees I had ball speeds of 168, 166, 167, and 164 (low on face) all spinning under 3k and none climbing over 101 feet. I don't know if I believe the monitor or not but man it really felt FAST! The speed was very real.

For me to driver 300yds total isn't greatly uncommon as I averaged 292 just 2 years ago with the Ai Smoke. This high ball speed was a 310 yard carry. That just isn't me. It will take some testing to see how I play this. The forgiveness of the face may allow me to go absolutely nuts after the ball and live with the bail out results on my misses. So pleased with this driver.

Todays musing with the Quantum: Static loft 7 degrees (LINQ Red) launch 14 degrees (strike felt great) Ball speed 168 backspin: 2450rpm peak height 96 feet (very forward ball flight) carry distance 310 yards (roll out on monitor is irrelevant to me with driver)

Velocore black is on notice already. Had 2 carries in the 290 range.

I will get more numbers as time goes on. Not going to crush this thread with data yet. That will come as time and familiarity.

Instantly in the shopping cart and pre-ordered. I’m excited just based off of how excited people were for this one.

Assuming the adapter change only affects the fairways this year?
YES. no changes to driver. It was told to us that the hosel they use on drivers accomplishes everything they need with the multiple head options and lofts available. Plus its made no sense to move it financially

The Triple Diamond models look REALLY good.
Dont sleep on the TD Max. Side by side the numbers I got were pretty identical with the exception of no drop offs on the TD Max when I got into the toe.
