Callaway Quantum Driver Line – The Next Evolution of Speed

It is early, and I have just read the articles on the main page for the Driver and Fairways, and have a question:
Did the adaptor stay as the typical Optifit?
I see on the fairways you can adjust for loft and lie with the changed adaptor, but if that adaptor isn't on the driver, is there a reason why it isn't?

Plenty of reading to do in the thread, so apologies if this was covered already.

the LinQ Powercore being an upcharge option is making it hard not to just buy blindly right now. Only wish the TX was available.

Alright Team Our Time.

Who got fit into the Triple Diamond Max and tell me all about it!
First head I hit. Would be the one I would buy myself. But the fitter wanted to "tighten the cone"

It's the same adapter as before for the drivers. Not as much need to change for a club that doesn't go thru the turf and it would be very costly for both golfers and fitters to need to change the driver adapter.

This thread is moving faster than the Grandaddy thread did
LOL

I'm interested to know about this

if this makes it 2* more upright, how does the Cog then affect the lie angle again? Does it make it even more upright?

Something else that stood out for the TD Max, for me, last week was that the spin was lowwwwww. On average, I was around 2K, but the flight was still 33Y+. Something I’m curious about, and would like to get out ON the course.

If you set it to the D setting, yes it would be even more upright.

Opti Fit adapter for the. Since driver does not contact the turf like the fairway woods or the hybrids, the Opti Fit is the better choice for the adapter

Yikes .... that should interest the folks who miss to the right big time. Myself included. I will be trying these out for sure (y)

Didn’t have time to read through the whole article yet and will get to that later this morning, but they look great. Love the colors and design on these.

As soon as Callaway has a trade in bonus I’m grabbing one

I'm with ya there.

$240 trade in for my Elyte driver currently, not horrible
But add a 50% bonus or a 2X.................BOOM, it's happening

Across the board, the Quantum line is lower launching, compared to the Elyte. That has been my experience with Max and the fitters' experience with other players.

Yep. And spin was even lower on TD to the point I went with the TD Max. Because I can have poor AoA with driver frequently, spin is something I battle with driver and TD Max was right in the sweet spot on both good strikes and poor ones for me. Regular TD was too low if I was actually hitting up on the ball during my fitting.

Looks like another great progression for them in the line

I had no issues with launch. At all.

This was my comment to my buddy when I was hitting shots, that I don’t even want/need to try the TD now, hahaha

That said, height wasn’t an issue for me, which was nice.

The sound though….so good.

Nice write up @ddec! Good looking drivers I like the colors they used this year. All of the new tech is cool.

So. Good. Even in an enclosed GolfTEC bay which is the worst place to hear how a club sounds I enjoy it. It's crisp.

I'm actively working on all that now.

9 degree Triple Diamond Max. My favorite wood of all time as a high spin player that needs the forgiveness.

When you mention high spin, what are we talking about? I am interested as I am a high spin guy with the driver and granted that is swing related, but finding a driver that can help me with my spin and still give me the ability get the distance I need for my speed is goal #1.

Quantum driver looks are excellent as you'd expect from Callaway. The Max Triple Diamond is a no frills. No markings for alignment on the separated black session just above the face. The carbon crown remains visible and is well polished but not distracting. The face sits square behind the ball with minimal alignment of the three sections in a non-closed V shape for the middle of the face with a couple of lines and the word "Tri-Force" written at the bottom. Truthfully, until writing this, I didn't know it was written there.

The sole of the club isn't busy. Carbon is visible tech. The weight directly behind the face is the traditional circle inside of the flat hexagon shaped area that would remind you of a weight itself. Aerodynamics weren't overlooked with many steps on the bottom of the head. "Max" text is written with the well known 3 diamonds thru the middle of the sole. The adjustable weight in the back of the club is fixed in place with an internal adjustable weight that isn't visible.

Overall, this is the best looking Callaway driver I have seen. It rivals any company in looks. No visible gimmicks or face paint. No more sliding weight tracks to collect debris. Just a great sounding "thud" on impact that isn't what I consider high pitched. It sounds like... a Callaway even with the new face.

A small sticker is molded into the bottom of each club head that is barely noticeable. Old eyes wont be able to read the small print. The story of the driver face and code name are present.

I like the "thud" comment, that makes me happy. Can the sticker come off?

Sim session: I've had it with me twice but had to cover it up so I only got to really use it one time. The results were really interesting and even more so, promising.

Not swinging as fast as possible I was getting ball speed around 162 at 9 degrees in the stock setup. The ball was straight with little curve and the dispersion circle tight. The front to back was 10 yards and left to right was 5 yards left to 10 yards right. Aim small, miss small is the theme of golf for me this year. This does it.

I was feeling frisky so I pulled out the LINQ 80G F5 at 44.5 inches. It has a tour COG on it to lower loft 2 degrees. That's right. At 7 degrees I had ball speeds of 168, 166, 167, and 164 (low on face) all spinning under 3k and none climbing over 101 feet. I don't know if I believe the monitor or not but man it really felt FAST! The speed was very real.

For me to driver 300yds total isn't greatly uncommon as I averaged 292 just 2 years ago with the Ai Smoke. This high ball speed was a 310 yard carry. That just isn't me. It will take some testing to see how I play this. The forgiveness of the face may allow me to go absolutely nuts after the ball and live with the bail out results on my misses. So pleased with this driver.

Todays musing with the Quantum: Static loft 7 degrees (LINQ Red) launch 14 degrees (strike felt great) Ball speed 168 backspin: 2450rpm peak height 96 feet (very forward ball flight) carry distance 310 yards (roll out on monitor is irrelevant to me with driver)

Velocore black is on notice already. Had 2 carries in the 290 range.

I will get more numbers as time goes on. Not going to crush this thread with data yet. That will come as time and familiarity.
Ball speeds like that at 7* is nuts and still getting the height you mention.

I love how "sleek" that weight port is and how it blends into the back of the head. Aesthetically its more pleasing than the weight system the Elyte line had.

Yeah that sound is great.

I didn’t actually have to adjust the weighs to get my preferred ball flight. If anything, at my fitting I was falling too far to the left (lefty) so we moved the head into the upright position and that got me where I wanted to be.

What is funny, and this will happen to me in most fittings, is I lose it too far left and then hardly lose it left on the course haha

You mention during the fitting you were landing too far left, wouldn't moving the head into an upright position bring more of the left into play? During my last fitting I was fit to D/N to get more upright and clean up the right miss.

Here’s a side by side. Just so much cleaner.

The weighting system looks so much cleaner on the Quantum.

Looks awesome, want to try. My gamer is 2 yrs old, I love the TD Max and love to see it as a standard option in 2026!

Great photos with the dormie tee, those are my absolute favorite tees!

This was my big interest in this head.

I have flattened the face of every driver I have played, and I am so tired of it!

Having more durability while also getting even more ball speed and forgiveness sounds like an absolute dream come true.
Callaway tests the face with 6,000 strikes at 125mph.

I can get steep or low on the face when I try to hit up on the driver. I haven’t gotten the crazy fluctuations in spin. It’s staying 22-2600

Well just got through the article and everyone’s comments… LIke @Jeff Spicoli it was a bit of a shock to see the AI Face gone, however the Tri-Force Face sounds like a pretty freaking amazing advancement for them. Thinner titanium that‘s still durable is crazy, and to bring in the poly mesh to bring the two sections together is pretty nuts.

Few questions that I’ve got for Team our Time:
- Many of you had experience with Elyte and AI Smoke, is there a noticeable difference in Tri-Force? How would you describe it?
- Did the performance at ECPC translate over to the Hideaway well for you?
- Know you guys played in some windy conditions on day 1, how did you feel the driver and ball combos fared for you?

Also love the hidden weight system, glad they implemented that!

TD Max is going to be your ticket I think.
