Callaway Quantum Driver Line – The Next Evolution of Speed

I had no issues with launch. At all.
Launch is still there. Plenty good. Easy to launch. Just that it hasn't been a straight line from Elyte to Quantum. I went from an Elyte TD dialed down to 8° to a Max at 9° and was told that isn't uncommon from their experiences with the fittings.

Great write up, when I upgraded to the AI Smoke max driver had no desire to upgrade to the Elyte as I like the looks of the AI Smoke better and numbers were very close. Reading through this one I definitely have the urge to upgrade with the tech and looks alone. Will definitely be testing this one out to see if can knock the Smoke out of the bag. Look forward to reading all the Grandaddy participants reviews. Need to head over to the fairway woods thread as absolutely need to upgrade there.

You mention during the fitting you were landing too far left, wouldn't moving the head into an upright position bring more of the left into play? During my last fitting I was fit to D/N to get more upright and clean up the right miss.
I’m a lefty 😉

Well just got through the article and everyone’s comments… LIke @Jeff Spicoli it was a bit of a shock to see the AI Face gone, however the Tri-Force Face sounds like a pretty freaking amazing advancement for them. Thinner titanium that‘s still durable is crazy, and to bring in the poly mesh to bring the two sections together is pretty nuts.

Few questions that I’ve got for Team our Time:
- Many of you had experience with Elyte and AI Smoke, is there a noticeable difference in Tri-Force? How would you describe it?
- Did the performance at ECPC translate over to the Hideaway well for you?
- Know you guys played in some windy conditions on day 1, how did you feel the driver and ball combos fared for you?

Also love the hidden weight system, glad they implemented that!
There is a noticeable difference in Tri-Force to me. Mainly in speed. You can tell it's fast just off the face. Spin is also in a better window.

I actually had performance improvements each day. On the back 9 on Clive, my drives were within 5-10 yards of Luke and AT at least 3 times, which is nuts for me.

The ball fared very well in the wind. I struggled with the driver during the really windy holes but that was on me blocking the ball way left and not due to the wind.

The other really visual surprise to me is their willingness to offer multiple head builds in the lineup that are so fundamentally different in material and construction. Going from a 360* carbon wrap to a metal sole between the heads seems like a big choice to make.
I agree with this, and there is another factor - these heads start to compete with each other - what I mean is this, while Callaway would (ideally), keep or gain a customer from another brand, they are competing within the head design and that can leave them with a ton of heads to move later in the season or via PreOwned the next year, at lower prices - not always a good thing, obviously, I can't think of any other OEM that releases this many models at once as Callaway has done here. Impressive, very very impressive.

I recorded these as a side by side while doing some hitting one night. Same ball, same shaft(Linq Blue).

Ai Smoke Max 9°

Quantum Max 9.5

Quantum TD 9.5

My biggest takeaway with the Quantum Max driver is the easy speed and consistent feel. I played 2 drivers last year. The Callaway Paradym and the Tour Edge C725.

The Quantum Max feels more solid and flat out longer. The Paradym was loud and high pit he'd to the point of almost hurting my ears in the sim. On course is fine. But in a confined space it was loud.

The Quantum Max is a very pleasant thwack.

I can’t speak to the first question as I had mini drivers for Ai Smoke and Elyte.

Performance was actually better on course for me. My best strikes on the ECPC range were what I was seeing consistently at the Hideaway. It was shocking to me as I struggled so much with driver in 2025.

Wind didn’t seem to effect the ball much on day 1 for me off the tee. The CT is so stable and the flight is very controlled for me with the TD Max. Flat trajectory that steadily gets to its apex instead of climbing.

I just saw the Cool Clubs robot testing video. The Quantum Max had some ridiculously tight dispersion and surprisingly lower spin. That might be an absolute sleeper driver that shouldn't get overlooked for the TD models.

I was probably the single largest gain on average, but it would be hard to grant that, solely on the individual number because I was centering every one with this driver and not with the Elyte during my testing.
What do you attribute your ability to center it better to?

I dont know, because I am alternating builds, and they are identical.
Part of it is not being very good at golf.
The other part of it is, there is this impact sound that is almost craved, so part could be that where you just know good things are coming.
Finally, there is a face story here that is real. So even missing a bit (I tend to do that) even in the slightest way where it appears centered, seems to be very fast.

The max is very good. I hit some great shots with it on the ECPC range. It came down to look and sound for me as I preferred the TD Max and didn’t give up performance

Anyone try the TD and TD Max and notice any sound/ feel difference?
