Callaway Quantum Fairway Woods: The Evolution of Speed and Playability

The learning curve for this is running me nuts. I can hit it very well and then at times its just bad. I guess thats a 3 wood for ya.

I do know this, I have no fear of going for a par 5 in 2 unless I gotta carry 260 yards. Distance for days on good swings

I looked into the loft sleeve settings for my Max D 5W and have now knocked it down to 17 degrees and I am now seeing the distance I'm looking for.

Wanting a club to go 235/240 and this is the one. Not sure I've ever had such a confidence inspiring profile behind the ball, the very shallow face just let's me know this will get up in the air so easy. Very eager to get it out on grass as the sole design seems spectacular with the stepped profile.

I won't tell you not to do that @CSILKEY7 but I will tell you don't do it before trying this Max 3W. I was anti 3W as I've never gotten along with it but the fitter set me up with it and I'm not say John is a wizard but he knows something! It is amazing off a tee and out of the rough. The best shot I hit was with it day 2 at The Clive and it was about 270 into the green. I hit said green and stopped just off the back! Give this 3w a chance is all I'm saying

Yeah man I had/have 0 issue with it off the tee or the turf, it just works for me. I'm not saying its an everybody club like that but it really has me in the I don't need a mini dirver in the bag for tee shots and off the turf/mat it has been great for me

just hit it at golfers warehouse on lunch break, thing is a rocket off the turf! I was hitting the 3hl, was carrying between 250-255. Absolute weapon and so easy to hit! I am ordering one as we speak to gap off my 7 wood

I toyed with the loft sleeve on 3w and 5w ended up going back to standard for the time being. I think it was more of a swing issue I needed to work out on my end

Those numbers do'nt surprise me at all!!!! I Love seeing it dude! There is something in every branch of the Quantum lineup that just makes things work! Just wait until you can try it out of the rough with the step sole 2.0!

One thing I would say is for a 1 degree increase in loft I have found the change to face angle to be a bit more noticeable than on other hosel adapters I'm more familiar with.

Being in the Max D model the face pointing slightly right at address is not much of a worry though.

First time in forever that I have all Callaway woods and they are all the quantum!

the TD 7 wood is already a joy to hit in the sim so can't wait to see what this thing does !

That's really interesting on the look because on the course, I really don't notice it at all. That being said, until you mentioned it, I forgot I had de-lofted so there's a chance my mind didn't even notice the difference.

The 3HL does seem like a great club. It all depends how it fits in your bag, these quantum fairways have such a great shape and the shallow face launches the ball so well.

I placed an order for a Max 3HL and it is backordered 2-4 weeks. I even called and they confirmed this head is indeed backorder a few weeks. Interesting thing is, when i placed the order it said "in stock" at the bottom for the whole club!

I ended up canceling it and going to figure out what to do now

I have the standard 3w and then the ultra HL in the HW lol. I almost wish I’d hit the 3hl at ECPC. Honestly though I don’t think you can go wrong with either just depends on what you want out of it.

I waited 11 weeks for the Smoke Max driver with custom shaft. Finally had to change the shaft. The initial order said 3-4 weeks.

I just received the quantum Max OS hybrid. They didn't even send me an order number or tracking number, just a confirmation number. But I received it in 5 days so all good.

I don’t think they are that buttoned up.

Fairway woods were fire today! Hit a couple off the tee on long par 3s, a couple off the deck on approach. All was good in the Fairway world. My game is so much better when I'm able to focus on it. Honestly I think I convinced the Marshall at the course this morning to get himself a 9w. It's just that easy to launch and it's a beautiful launch at that.

So good.

I wish I could play on course more often. I just don't have any time and the course was packed this last week with the weather being so good.

I had a dream that the clocks moved forward and I was so pumped to be able to play evening 9's. But it was a week too early. Soon, though. Very soon. Then I'll be able to pure a 5w on some short par 4's.

Hell yeah man. Sims are great, but there's nothing like being out there and watching the ball launch and keep going...and going. It's pretty addictive to be honest

I'm not giving up to this nor getting rid of it but I'm gonna add some competition. I just don't deliver fairways effeciently enough to get a consistent shot with them. Super Hybrid at 16 degrees should compete pretty well
