Callaway Quantum Fairway Woods: The Evolution of Speed and Playability

How’s the AD DI doing in the 5W?

I just pulled one out and tipped it for the Elyte TI 5W last night but haven’t hit it.
I love it. Had never used one before. I always played stock. Feels so smooth and you can feel the release. I just need to hit my points and keep a solid tempo and the club/shaft combo works.

And I love the orange.

So I am still so amazed at how easy the 7W and 9W are to hit. 9W is still my fav club in the bag and I hope to get to around 180 or so in so I can hit it. Ball just flies high and lands so soft. It's a little beast (IMHO) so I had to get it a new headcover...

This is SICK

Is ball peak height staying reasonable? That’s my only fear in trying one. In a driver I hit moon balls with it.

Yes. Height is staying around 80-90 feet. I'm happy with that.

That is a nuked 5w! And it looks like plenty of consistency.
Its a very consistent club for me on the sim!! Which means it's right for me.

So far on the course I've just struggled to find strike with it so I have been reluctant to use the club too often. I'm currently trying to get a feel for the whole top of the bag Driver, Mini and 5W all being new so it's maybe just too much at one time.

Sim numbers show me that once I get it figured out it'll be a real asset!

An 11 wood sounds so crazy to me. I wouldn't mind trying one, but couldn't see myself gaming it. I'm looking forward to more posts about it.
I am really enjoying it in the Sim. Can't wait to get it out on the course.

I have yet to do an A/B test, but I'm thinking the 7W will replace my 3H. Or, it should roughly be the equivalent of my 3H. I am not totally not sure, but distance wise it seems to be the case.

One thing I notice right off the bat is I'm carrying farther and rolling less with the 7W. My shining moment was flying a flag and the rolling off the green on a 188 yard par 3. That's a decent poke for me, especially when we talk about carry.

I wish I didn't feel weird swinging longer clubs indoors. I did manage to get over the hump a bit last night, but I still feel like I'm leaving something on the table.

Oh. Again.

It sounds so damn good.

I'm a huge fan of this. I am very much team 7W & 9W in place of longer irons or hybrids. These Quantum ones are my fav ever. Just so easy to hit.

It's really brand new to me. I don't think I would have considered it without my success using the Elyte 3W. Still plenty of proving itself to do on the course, but the goal of more height seems to be there.

I picked up an AI Smoke 7W last year for fun and it became my fav club. Told my fitter @ ECPC that so he unwrapped a brand new Quantum 7W for me to hit. I was smoking that thing so well there that we both agreed to put the 9W in the bag too... without even hitting it as they didn't have one there.

I'm one who can struggle with height so these definitely help in that area.

So, the 9w fits into the 4h slot for you?

More like the 7W would be 4i or 4H and 9W would be 5i or 5H. Then 6-AW in my irons.

3W in the sim doesn’t get a lot of work. The usual routine is: take 3 swings, they are all ideal, and find no need to swing any more of them. It’s kind of crazy.

Ok. I still need to figure this gapping out I think. Need more course time.

Something I’ve mentioned, but haven’t put data to yet is the fact this is the best fairway I’ve ever played. It’s easily workable, and the ball is exploding off the face. I averaged 230 in the last fitting I had with a different brand, and I’m carrying 235 with a 20 yard rollout with the Quantum fairway. The club is a Quantum Max 3-wood.

The indoor swing syndrome with woods is REAL. I struggle with that too. Desperate to get outside at this point. Damn winter.

Mashed dude. Love to see that.

Who is finding this fwy wood easier to hit off the deck than last years model?

Who is finding this fwy wood easier to hit off the deck than last years model?
I've only used it indoors, but I do find that I'm picking it better off the mat than my previous Elyte model.

I wonder if they'll put the Tri-Force Face in the fairway woods at some point. That level of speed and forgiveness would be great in a fw.

Who is finding this fwy wood easier to hit off the deck than last years model?
Speedwave 2.0 is real. The Elytes were easy to launch. These are as well. I am finding more consistent flights so far, though. I think it has more to do with consistent strikes from the easy turf interaction.

Me. Not by a large margin because I hit the Elyte well too. This one has a little more juice in it.

I hit a handful of balls with this yesterday. Launch is so good. I tried it at 14 degrees and it is playable but the difference in the ball peeling off at the end is remarkable. At 14 degrees it doesn't appear closed but the flight is a little more leftward bound that I want at this loft. A bit of a miss and how far left does it go?

I didn't have time to try the adapter in a flat setting not was i smart enought to consider it in limited time. I'm not sure I would have a great need for it at 14 degrees but it would come in handy gap wise in my bag if I can figure this out.
