Callaway Quantum Fairway Woods: The Evolution of Speed and Playability

Today, I don’t know what happened, but I hit my 7w farther than my driver today. Absolutely unreal shot that felt perfect. It hit a downslope, but I could not believe the distance I got out of this thing. Hottest face of all time, my god 😂

Hit this 3 times today. Twice from the fairway and the results were amazing. High and straight and went further than expected. Hit it off the tee......

Well if you've paid any attention me and 3w off the tee doesn't work. The water ball snowballed into a triple

The TD 5w is a club I'm still thrilled to be able to hit. I get excited every time the headcover comes off

I played so bad today... felt so uncomfortable and hand no confidence w/ anything. Except my Quantum Max 7/9/11 woods. Those never fail me.

I've been there man. Having that safety net is so clutch for the game. I don't know how Callaway can even improve on them to be honest, but I'm sure they'll find a way.

I find myself trying to justify hitting one of them sometimes. Need to figure out that smooth easy 11W from 155

Hip High backswing might do the trick for you. A quick little 155 banger!

My Max D 3W is giving me everything I need at that spot. Distance off the tee with no big benders either way. Easy to launch off the deck. My Mini is getting cold sitting on the bench.

Golf is hard. Launching your 3w off the deck shouldn't be. Quantum max says so. (don't ask me to hit it off the tee)

I posted this on IG yesterday, but it's worth talking about. I pulled my drive a little left and ended up in the rough with a number of trees to navigate around. Normally I just punch out and hope I can get in a spot to get up and down.

This was the tree. Perspective is difficult in photos, but to my eyes it was too tall to hit over with anything other than an iron. I know this isn't a big thing for some people, but I don't hit it really high.

I did have a slight ramp with my lie though, and I figured why not give it a shot with the Quantum 7W. Somehow I carried that effer, landed and rolled to 200 yards total and I had a 60 yard pitch for my approach. Freaking awesome.

Heckuva shot!

Great shot!

I have loved how easy to elevate are the Quantum fairways, while not worrying about hitting them "too high". They are just so stinkin playable.

I get some (deserved) joking about the fact I sometimes carry more than one club that go the same distance. One thing I keep this 7W in the bag for is that trajectory difference. Sometimes the height is just a must-have.

Is the other club a hybrid?

My buddy has the Quantum 3 and 5 woods. Even my old butt can hit the 3 reliably off the deck... and actually hit it further than the 5 because it gets in the air so readily.

Now for the confusing part..
. Mini Spinners.
Are they Quantum fairways, just a variant?
I am not a Callaway guy but I couldnt resist...

Here you go.

I haven't been pulling the 5w as much recently as I just haven't been hitting it well off the deck. Off the tee, however, it has been really really solid. You can feel the speed off the face on a well struck shot, which is really cool to experience. I need to find the confidence in swinging this club like I have with the TD Max driver. There are times on longer par 5s where I could hit it and maybe not reach the green, but be within 30 yards and instead lay up with my longest comfortable iron. That strategy has played well when it comes to scoring, but I want to use the 5w more.

7w is supposed to be my high launch, steep landing green attacker. But there was a shot last weekend during our greenskeeper revenge tournament that I had zero chance to get to the green because the tee had me hitting a 9i on a par 5.

Anyway, I wanted to get us to a spot we were comfortable with to let my partner swing away. I hit the longest 7w rocket launcher of a shot that I've ever hit with it. I have zero desire or need for it to do that, and it hit a sort of speed slot for the total distance. But I hit it farther than I hit my driver that day. Absolutely UNREAL kind of shot that makes me think I can literally do anything with a golf club if I was better :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I may need to swing this club of yours next weekend too :ROFLMAO: I have been hitting the UW pretty well the last couple weeks, but it flies a bit lower than I ideally would like.

And I miss having a 7w in the bag. Would be a 2027 pickup, but the ponder is in full swing.

The second I hit it, I told my partner that that’s the best 7w I’ve hit all season. It just felt like perfection

I was thinking about trying a mini spinner but I keep hitting my regular quantum fairways like this so I just can't see myself making the switch to the spinner - in all seriousness I am 70% gir with the 9w on this hole with the 9w since I got it.

It might sound odd, and I got injured before completing testing, so I am not certain but before my injury it looked like the 21⁰ mini spinner would gap almost perfectly under my 21⁰ GT2. One stops, one I can get to roll out a bit turning it over.... So I might end up pulling the 6I and go 11-9-7 Minis, and then 21⁰ GT2 and 16.5 GTS. After my hand heals I will have all sim season to figure it out. But for now, the minis are in.the home bag.

Played in a customer appreciation event put on by my company's energy supplier. One person from each 4some wins a "large prize". My name was called this year
