Callaway Triple Diamond MAX Driver

I just picked up one of these to tinker with for a few months, mostly with the Proto shaft. That is still being built out so I put a Denali Blue in this today and hit it on alternating holes with my GT3. My word this thing is fun. Hard to tell without number and hitting them both on the same hole, but I was seeing a slightly straighter ball flight with the TD Max and possibly a bit more ball speed. I wasn’t exactly hitting either particularly well in pre-season conditions, but I’m excited for this experiment.
It's a fun one for sure. Cant wait to hear how it plays for you long term, especially once the swing rounds into form!

Lofted this up to 11.5 and I may have found a good setting. 10.5 was too low, 12.5 too high. 11.5 gave me height, yet nothing that seemed like it was ballooning into a slight headwind. Dispersion was also really good today. Felt like I was in a relatively tight dispersion pattern for me. Feel is great, just so solid. Really glad I picked this one up.

Just a note that there were a couple of these on Callaway Pre-Owned today (I picked up a 9* to trade my 8* TD for). I'd been looking for weeks and today was the first time I've seen them on CPO.

So I have been absolutely loving this driver however I felt like I was leaving some ball speed on the table...

I went and ordered 2 weights off amazon (9g and 12G) and swapped the rear 10G for the 12G and the front 4G for the 9G and WOW what a difference!!

Picked up a noticeable amount of yards and brought the flight down a little more which is what I was hoping to achieve.

Current driver, about to upgrade to the ELyte (shop credit from tournaments so need to spend it)....last night swapped weights again....the feel for this driver is bettter (IMHO) when the heavier weight is in the back, but it spins more....and is slightly more "forgiving" but i am curious, have not done the testing, to see if it is just a feel issue...

Last nights experience playing with it, weight forward, clearly less spin, and better distance, with no discernible difference in "forgiveness" but the feel is radically different, more firm, more of a whack, and not a thump, if that makes sense...

A good round out with the AI Smoke TD Max. I play the 10.5* head, and lofted up one degree, versus standard. Saw some increased distance for sure with this setting versus standard, with a nice medium to high ball flight. I was firmly in the mid ball flight before adjusting. Average was 262 today, with one of them being a mishit that was under 200. On well struck shots I was at an average of 270. I averaged 255 last year with my Paradym X, so at worst I increased by 7 yards, at best it was 15 yards. A great increase!

FIR was good for the front 9, hitting 3 of 6. Back 9 I lost a bit of direction, and only hit one of 4 fairways. Lost 2 balls with driver, but this course in very penal on missed fairways. If you miss the ball is gone. Didn't hit as much driver as usual due to the nature of the course, where some holes direction is more important than distance.

For only my second round out this year I saw most positives than negatives. Very happy with the ball flight I was seeing, as well as the distance. Directionally I started and ended well, just need to dial in direction during the middle of the round. Really excited to continue to dial this in, because I think the TD Max has more ball speed and distance potential than the Paradym X, and I really enjoyed that driver. Also, I enjoy the more solid feel I've gotten with the switch as well.

The more I play with the TD Max the more I'm loving it. Had a league match last night and drove the ball really well overall. Think I only had one mis hit drive and shot 76 on a course I hadn't played in over 10 years. I don't know if its me, the Ventus Blue with velocore+, or the head, but I'm def hitting it lower than my previous TSR with Ventus Blue TR. I actually don't mind it because I think it is helping me to be accurate and have less dispersion. I can still hit it higher when I tee it up higher and focus on it. Everyone else still liking it?

This is the best driver I've ever gamed, no doubt. The combination with the Hypersonic shaft has given me such a tight dispersion, while maintaining distance. I feel like in the past I would sacrifice one for the other, but really feel like I have both with this combination. Plus it's been really consistent.

I do enjoy the feel this provides as well. With the Paradym X I felt like the head was light, and the feedback on strikes was lacking. With the TD Max the strikes feel powerful, almost like I can feel the ball jumping off the face.

Repeat what I said above, but maybe with another explanation point added.

Hit some drives today in areas I've never been. Distance wise this thing is a monster. Drove a par 4 green today that I had no business reaching. Im hitting more shots over 270 than not, and I was averaging 260 last year with my old driver. I did have one that I left open, and luckily its an open course and I could just play from the other fairway, but overall it's going where I want it to. Im still the same golfer, but this driver is something special.

That’s awesome… glad to see some huge performance gains. Driving par 4’s is Bryson-like!

It was good one for me at a 307 yard drive, but still not the 400 yarders that Bryson hits :p

Played pga west stadium course yesterday and on a 322 yard hole I was just about Lin high in a swale off the green. Still loving this club.
What do you feel this offers that your previous gamers dont?
