Challenge 23 to 13 handicap.. 1st round

Hi all
Don't no if you no but i set myself a challenge to get a 13 or below handicap from 23. My 1st post is about me and my golf. the 2nd post was about my 1st lesson and what i need to work on etc etc.

So.. My 1st round of golf since all of that. Not been out as we've had snow and the my course has been shut also with family, work its been hard finding the time to play.

So today was the 1st time me and my brother in law have had time to play. bearing in mind I've not had chance to practice the things i was told from my lesson off David a couple of weeks ago, so i wasn't expecting much from today. I had the not bothered approach today plus the weather wasn't to good either a little bit foggy and chilly. so that's my excuses out the way HA HA HA.

With all that in mind i shot my BEST ever round today an 88 YES!!! (IN THE 80'S CLUB) I did play well, hitting the ball well considering. The front 9 was amazing shot a 39 that's 3 over par (net 27). back nine wasn't as good shot a 49 (NET 37) dont no what happened maybe the cold setting in or hunger. i had 3 off the tee on the 16th that didn't help as walked off with a 8 on a par 4 plus a 3putt on the 11th.

i never hit a bunker. need to hit a couple more fairways only really missed them by a foot and i need to hit a lot more GIR (that's a MUST). I'm happy with my putting 1-2 puts does for me, a sneaky 3 put on the 11th but that was just a blip.

So I'm over the moon with that today since i haven't played for some time. just need to use this as a building block.
still need to work on a couple of things, longer irons (HYBRID) mainly anything past 7iron and driver hit and miss but over all happy with today. onwards and upwards

Good job and welcome to the 80s. Hope everything works out so you can be down to a 13.

Good job breaking 90, now use that momentum and push through. More fairways and greens, try to play to your good yardage for your second, this will help tighten up the score. From there it's just putting, right?
