Chicken Wild Rice Soup

My wife makes an awesome Chicken Wild Rice Soup and I was wondering if it is just a Midwest thing.

I have had it and it is quite good. I usually see some carrots and onions in it.

I'm from the Midwest but I've had it. So I'm not really helping your cause other than to say that yes I've had it, yes it's good. Wild rice seems to be an us thing though, when I lived out in California most people had never heard of it.
