for us lucky schmucks who got into this, trying to get the ball rolling. Since we are playing at Talking stick I think that would likely be the best place to stay. Direct at the resort is $590 for 2 nights with 2 queen beds (or $245 a person if someone wants to bunk up). Going to check around to see if there is a cheaper option for this one.

I am flying in Friday afternoon, flying out Sunday night. Trying to decide on renting a car, but with the small group of us maybe we can whittle it down to a couple cars and a few rooms to save some cash.

Going to be fun!

EDIT: staying at Hampton Scottsdale Riverwalk as that is almost $200 cheaper for the weekend. At this point 2BFAST and I are bunking up, and I am planning on uber out and back, as well as for dinner.

Mancest, just keep in mind there is a resort fee on top of that. I know because i just had to book a bunch of rooms.
Its a fantastic hotel however, with a great casino and Top Golf and the course are literally right there.

Fupresti will know of some other options perhaps for those that want to save a few dollars.

it was $259/night before fees, then shows $590 as the total, but that might just be the tax, not the resort Fee. How much was the resort fee per room?

I am not too worried about that, I always like staying with the group at one place, makes it easier for shenanigans to occur.

looks like a Hampton Inn right outside TopGolf for those who might want to save some $$$, not sure what the rates would be, but I would figure better than the resort cost.

Resort fee is $25/day.

$531.10 room only for 2 nights with taxes if you have AAA

I'm shopping for flights at the moment, this is a long way from home! I'll stay wherever everyone else is staying, and I don't mind sharing a room to bring costs down.

I'll bring the rum

I'll probably cash in the mother in laws Marriott rewards points since the wife is coming. It's like 3 miles from Talking Stick.

Anyone planning on staying off site?

If onsite is not an option, then book at Hampton Inn & Suites Scottsdale Riverwalk. It's still technically on property and you will have the same access to the course and TopGolf and save $100.00 per night.

As a 21 year old paying tuition/student loans, I'm definitely up for splitting a room haha.

If anyone is planning on extending their stay let me know and I will arrange for golf.

As for a rental car, I would say just Uber it. The car rental facility at Sky Harbor is offsite and a pain in the ass. The Uber to and from the hotel will cost you around $20.00 and the Uber to dinner on Saturday will run less then $10.00 each way.

Boom, that is what I am going to do. Cancelling at Talking stick. I just got the confirmation, even splitting rooms it is going to be over $300 a person.

If possible it would be great if we all stay close but we all need to do what works best.

I am also looking at cost to rent a minivan, but if we are onsite will we need a car?

Nope. The hotel is literally next door to Top Golf and you can certainly walk to the courses from the hotel. You will need to Uber to dinner on Saturday but the restaurant is less then 5 miles away.

Let me just put it up there, the walk from the Hampton Inn to the course will be 1.2 miles so it might be outside the realm of some peoples comfort. An Uber will be approx. 3-4 bucks if needed.

I am fat, but will probably need to burn off calories after Fogo de chau. Will be a game time decision for sure.

I would love to stay together, but I can't pass on free rooms at the Marriott. Bringing the wife(the week of her birthday) won't distract from my ability to fully participate. She's very open to me doing my thing and her doing hers.

all good, as I mentioned, we all have things that work and don't work. It will be a great time regardless.

Sweet, where at?
I was born in Festus, and lived in Desoto until we moved here. My dads' family all lives in Collinsville/Belleville area, my mom currently lives in Shrewsbury while she takes care of my grandmother so all over the place.

So basically STL area-ish

Cool!

thanks for the all the info, I will probably stay a bit longer, depending on what flights I can get

We will likely not leave until Monday, depending on flights, etc. Has anyone thought about getting clubs home? Shipping or taking a shot at flying them? I read a couple of last years participants flew them and didn't have great luck.

My advice: take your travel bag and a stiff arm. Throw some towels in there as well and you should be good as gold.

If anyone is coming in early for a pre-event round on Friday morning, then please keep me in mind. I'm attending a conference in Tucson that starts on Saturday with a round a golf. Therefore, I'm bringing my clubs to AZ and would like to squeeze in extra rounds, if possible. Lots of Cleveland goodies in my bag!!!!
