Cobra AMP CELL Hybrids & Fairway Woods Preview

Took my new #babybluebomber to the range today. Wow. This thing is a cannon. I was hitting it beautifully off the mat - nice and straight ball flight unlike the Xhot pro, which tended to power fade off the turf. Really really impressed with how smooth it is off the ground. It's a beast off the tee as well, but that is no surprise considering how well I hit its big brother.

Nice jlukes! Hit the hybrid the other day. Mucho impressed. Need to hit the fairway. Might be moving to all Cobra.

As soon as I got home I ordered the 2/3 hybrid. Just need someone to buy my rocketballz Tour rescue now. It's damn near new and I'm practically giving it away!

Finally bought my 2/3 hybrid today with some of last nights winnings at Winstar Casino. Can't wait to put them to use this weekend during the invitational.

Looks like I got the driver manual instead of the fairway wood one

Confirming lofts vs settings:

3+ = 13*
3 = 14*
4+ = 15*
4 = 16

Gorgeous. I will have the same family as of tomorrow, except in blue. What lofts are you dialing each into?

Gorgeous set dude! Love the silver!

What lofts are you running at? I went with the 2/3 H over the 3/4 H

I went with the 3/4FW and the 3/4H. I was thinking about getting your setup initially which made perfect sense for me with the loft options. However, with hitting them in the bay, the distances didn't fall into a gap correctly for me on the hybrid...they get it out there! Right now I'm at 20/1* and need to spend some more time with it to fine tune where I will end up at for the majority of the time.

Interesting. What loft are you playing the wood at?

Was sitting at 4+ (15*)...had to go look with testing that other FW haven't hit this one lately.

Bought my 3/4 hybrid Sunday morning - let me tell you about this journey, and quality customer service. All day Saturday I looked for the 3/4 hybrid in blue ( or red if no blue was found) in a stiff shaft. Went to Dicks, GG, Golfsmith - all they had was silver. Was a bit frustrated as I wanted it for Sunday mornings round! On the way home from those places, I stopped in to Arundel golf park. They had a blue one, but in a regular flex - but they had a silver in stiff. I tell the guy, "If you will just switch the shaft out I will buy it right now." No dice.. "Well, I really can't do that." Now, I run a store, and I have to rob & switch hings to sell quite often - and most of them aren't 189.00 purchases. REALLY wasn't happy then. So we play Queenstown Sunday morning, and lo & behold they have cobra cell hybrids there in all the colors... but you guessed it - the red & blue were in regular flex! So I ask the guy to help me out there when he finishes up with the current customer. He walks over, and I actually preffered the red at that moment, and I said" I, will buy this right now if you will switch the shafts and put the stiff in. He says "Absolutely, not a problem" He takes it back, switches the shafts, cleans it up, and 10 minutes later I'm taking it to the course!

Any way, I set it to 22 degrees, and hit it 4 times I think. It launches high - really high, but that is what I wanted this club for. It was quite windy, so I definitely lost a bit of distance on this day, but I know most days on longer par 3's and long aproach shots, it will be high enough to hold most greens. The best shot I had with it was on an long par 4. I hit a bad drive off the tee , and my approach shot was about 200 into the breeze, with very damp fairways. I knew this wouldn't get close, but I wanted to get some reps in with it. I caught it flush, and it got up in the air quickly, dead straight, and I was only about 10 yards short of the green, which surprised me. I don't know if I have ever hit a better feeling hybrid - and I have mainly played Adams hybrids.

I am playing 14* in the FW and 19* in the hybrid. Seems to fill in the gaps nicely.

I'm so happy it all worked out for you. Hope you continue to hit solid shots with it.

That's one amazing set right there!

Maybe this should go in the driver thread, but the Blue has been the hottest of the color options at the shop I work at. We only get the color options in the driver. fairways and hybrids are all the (grey/white), but everyone requests the blues. We sold a blue driver to a customer and special ordered the blue fairway and hybrid.

Cobra is bringing a whole new meaning to "I've got the blues."

The blue is great - I am going to buy a blue 4/5 tonight to replace my 5 iron. So then I will have a white driver, 4 wood and 3 hybrid, red 3/4 hybrid, and blue 4/5 hybrid. Amurica baby!
