Cobra DARKSPEED Drivers Review

I have pretty much stayed with heavy weight back and not tinkered with that because the launch and spin seem right.
Maybe that we’re coming up on indoor LM season it may be time, just out of curiosity.
It’s absurdly stable with the heavy weight back

Might be time to either take the Max off the draw setting or move the heavy weight from the heel to the back. Starting to lose it more left than right. Or I could learn to aim more right, lol

Just play that beast up the right side and trust it!

Yep it sure is.
I probably don’t need to change anything but the long winters here with nothing to do but swing indoors will lend to some tinkering.

I thought you hit driver really well at the Morgan Cup on singles day. Tinkering can't be helped though I totally get it haha.

I’m trying. Hard to do when I’ve played a fade/slice for my entire golfing life. I’ll work on it this offseason, aim right and swing away

Tinkering is ALWAYS fun

Trust me, I get it, I’ve been there. But eliminating that right side is FUN.

It is. Not having fear of that miss has been a game changer.

Yep, I agree.
But you know how those long winters go with nothing else to do indoors, will drive a crazy person insane 🤣

Oh yes I know it all too well. Must test all positions and weights 🤣. The good thing is you have a setting that works you can always go back to.

Yup, but you’re right, TRUSTING it takes time.

It’s worth it though.

I may even need to come back from the +1D setting on my 10.5 now that I'm actually delivering it half decently. Tinker, tinker 😂

I hit one today from ridiculously far on the toe. I'm pretty sure at least half the ball was outside the clubface 😂

The result? Almost straight, just a touch of draw and 5-10m short of the distance of my best strikes today. I laughed out loud. My playing partners heard the strike be way off and couldn't believe where it ended up

Launch will come up a little, spin usually moves 200-300 RPM based on all my LM testing. With that, little more launch and stability with heavy back, which is that increased MOI/forgiveness aspect.

Heavy back will also drop max ball speed a touch, but it’s often worth it if it keeps the ball in play more, haha
Things are working so well with weight back that I’d be crazy to move it anywhere. But I think plenty could argue that I am in fact crazy.

Not with this tho. I’m hitting Darkspeed so well. It’s insane.

Hahahaha, hey, more power to you!

Is that left miss a draw or a pull?

Moving the weight from heel to back will add some spin and launch even in draw setting but neutralize the draw bias. I play a draw and my miss is a hook but was fit into Max on draw with back weight and I have to really flip one to get a bad hook in that setting. Just consistent playable draws.

It’s a draw, sometimes hook.

Yeah, then I'd start by moving the weights so the heavy is back instead of heel and try that in the draw setting first, then move from draw to neutral if needed from there. I don't find it draws too much in draw with back weight if I put a good swing on it.

What do we think, 8.0 head or 9.0 head for Wednesday’s round?
