Cobra DS-ADAPT Fairways and Hybrids

I am having a blast with the 3w LS. It is not as easy to hit as the X as I do have a couple of tops with it but man when squared up that thing just goes!

It’s one of the fastest ball speed 3W’s I’ve ever hit or tested, it’s absurd.

But she can be fickle hahahaha

If my wife has taught me anything, it is to stay committed to the hard work to make something work. :ROFLMAO:

After some research and a relatively quick fitting using Trackman, I decided to order the 3HF DS-Adapt X as my new 4-wood, which I happened to find second-hand at Golfbidder.

However, unfortunately when it arrived it the shaft was cut down quite significantly and I had to return it. This made me second-guess my decision, since Cobra could announce their new 2026 line-up of woods pretty soon if I am correct.

What do you guys think, could there be new (fairway) woods announced anytime soon? If I am not mistaken, this usually happens around December/January for them.

New product could certainly be announced sometime soon, but the DS-ADAPT woods are so great that you won’t go wrong with them either. And they’re on sale now.

The DS Adapt hybrids continue to be a weapon for me.

I'm currently playing the 4 hybrid w/ KBS PGH in the B6 setting, so lofted up and upright. It is the easiest club to hit in my bag at the moment. Feels effortless.

I just want to say how much I love the DS Adapt X 7 wood. I really wish every club gave me as much confidence as this club does when I pull it out of the bag. Do I hit it perfect everytime...of course not. But more often than not a good result is coming, and at times the result is way better than the swing I put on it deserved. Ground contact with this club is very nice, it launches the ball quickly and ball speed across the face is pretty consistent. I am very confident that I can hold greens with this club, absolutely love it.

I have added a 3HF to the arsenal in an effort to find that sweet spot for a fairway, given that I'm going D > MD > FW > H for the top end of the bag. Between it and the 5 wood, in combination with the FF33 adapter, I have complete confidence I will get the gapping dialed this offseason. Let the tinkering continue...

My DS-Adapt 5 wood lofted up to 19.4 degrees and 2 degrees flat paired with a TPT Power Range 17 HI shaft will be in the bag for a very long time I suspect.

I chose the 7 wood specifically to have something I felt confident in ~200+ yard par 3’s, as it’s always been an area of discomfort for me. It has worked out better than I could have imagined. Looking down at that on the tee makes me feel like I can swing easy and get it there, while it launches high and with plenty of spin to hold even elevated greens. I don’t want to play without a 7w in my bag ever again, and the DS-ADAPT 7w is a beautiful performer.

I’ve for the 5h in the same exact shaft and setting as you, and it was an awesome replacement for my 5 iron. It’s so much easier for me to hit long approaches with this than a long iron. Great off the tee for me too!

The 7W is preparing to take on all challengers in 2026.

Talk about the surprise club of the year for me.

How did you like the ZXi 7 wood? I have the 3 wood and love it
As stated, its hot. I just fight the sole profile, more so than I like. It wants to dig - I've hit some wonderful shots from 185yds - tendencies to dig(especially from dormant Bermuda)has me looking elsewhere.

I'm going to pull the trigger on a 5w or 7w this week and I'm deciding between Elyte TD or DS-Adapt X (based on how good yours performed and thoughts here). Do you think one is better off the turf than the other? Or any other notes when comparing the two?

7W won’t behoove you with your move, and subsequent flight. I’m not sure we could tune it to bring the flight down enough. 5W though, I think that’s a much better way to lean.

Both super playable off the turf.

That's the validation I needed to hear! Thanks!

Sounds like me. I absolutely adore the 5w.

The X 5w is the perfect middle ground between the penetrating flight of the 3w and the high soft launch of the 7w. I like it quite a bit

You're honestly who I had in mind comparatively for @Hawkins hahaha

The 7W just gets TOO up there, but the 5 will still offer ample adjustability both ways to hit the gap needed, and wanted.

I'll just start stalking @CBaker then and see what he thinks of clubs :ROFLMAO:

You wouldn’t be the only one at our course that doesn’t listen to the equipment reviewer 🤣

LOL

I hit 150 ball speed with the 7W last night 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Shame on you. This isn't helping my perpetual fomo one bit 😂

I was laughing maniacally. 250 in on a 5 and in thought let’s just play short.

247 carry later… 🤣🤣🤣🤣
