Cobra DS-ADAPT Fairways and Hybrids

I was thinking about this last night, but I'm not certain I could choose to go back to an adapter that lacks the ability to de-couple loft and lie. I honestly have made very few adapter changes this season, but I think that is simply because the suggested settings just worked. To just have to identify on the chart the "where" of my miss and get back three pointed options is kind of perfect, I think.
Once you get used to using it (which does not take long at all), the FF33 widget is so simple to use and takes all the guesswork out of it. I don’t need to remember what upright vs flat does to my flight, it’ll just tell me what adjustment to try.

Man, I honestly feel pretty ignorant compared to most here. I pretend I understand upright vs flat far more than I actually do. For someone like ME, ignorance and all, to be able to adequately utilize FF33 speaks volumes. I hadn't used my hybrids much the last part of this season, having pulled so I could replace with irons, but I plan to spend some time really dialing them in over the winter because I feel like they will lend to gapping much better once I get them dialed. The 3HF and 7w on the other hand are set and feel pretty stinking secure in their spot in the bag.

I feel the same way. There’s a subset of OEMs I won’t even look at anymore with woods because they limit me on how I can get it dialed.

Of the 3W, 5W and 7W, I think I find the 5W to be the most forgiving, and the club I continue to favor of the group. My miss lately has been a right side push/fade. the 5W has kept me the closest to target.

I think it may be tome for an extended range session to revisit my adapter settings, and try to adjust for my miss.

Has anyone adjusted from their initial setting after a few months to try to find some greater accuracy?

I spent most of the season making micro adjustments to account for swing trends, but I'm also a bit of a head case, so maybe don't do that 😂

My only adjustment was to lower my ball flight to deal with windier conditions. I went from D8 to D2 which essentially just decreased the loft but kept the same upright setting.

I just adjusted from D2 -> D3 -> back to A1. I struggled a couple months ago delivering the club and was seeing some leaking to the right. D2 brought it back to center, until I started delivering the club a bit "better" so I made the switch to D3 for a couple of weeks to alleviate the over-draw. Eventually moving back to A1 was the call.

My fairway woods have been pretty solid in their settings once I got them set and then confirmed and adjusted to what I was seeing with them on course.

I have so much confidence with these fairway woods it’s silly. I’m not a good golfer which you have seen but the confidence in these fairways is off the charts.

Now Driver I’m continually searching a bit but pretty sure that’s a me thing.

Nothing from a greater accuracy point for me. I did play with loft to gap a little better.

Forgot to add my update on the grad gift DS Adapt Max K I got for my cousin! His reaction was priceless and he actually said he was looking at reviews of this and it was high on his wishlist.

At first the standard A1 setting was working on the range but his usual high right miss started to rear its head.

Used the setting app and made an adjustment and he was hitting some really great drives that day

Got a video of his best drive of the day:

Might want to drop this in the driver thread, but I'm glad I caught it here regardless. Love the Max K and that looked like a bomb in the video!

The 6 hybrid is fun. The ball just wants to go high and straight.

I only ventured as far as the 5 hybrid, but I love it. Makes long par 3s or longer approaches so much easier for me than a 5i.

I don’t feel like I have to think about trying to force the ball up in the air. It just launches.

Right? The ability to not have to think about things is so key. I want my whole bag to be in auto-pilot and these hybrids help do that.

Plus if you’re one of those people who struggles with hybrids going left or right on you, the adapter lets you adjust as you like

I love my DS-ADAPT MAX K as I came close to going with one of the Fit 33 Hybrids but wanted to try Cobra's newest KING TEC Hybrid as I like the 3 weight system in the head as it received some pretty popular reviews. Now for a 3W and 5W I like what I now have because of the Titanium face. We will see how the KING TEC works out in 2026 as maybe I will go for a DS-ADAPT 7W if the Hybrid does work out. Only thing if I do that I will then want to get the 3 and 5W so for now I have played Cobra's Hybrids before and liked them real well so I should be just fine with what I now have.

Demo sale still ongoing. Looking to get something 4 wood like.
Options a bit limited.
There is an LS 3HF, and 5 wood in stiff. The 5w is 17.5 but demoed it lofted down 1.4* and was hitting it really well on the GC quad.
A different store has the 3HF which is 16*
They have the X 3HF as well but think only with a reg shaft though manger had a used LINQ white 6f4 lying around he said he would swap the adapter on for me. Don't have much experience with that shaft. Wondering how it compares to Denali blue and black.

The Reg flex X 3HF for me was shorter than the 5 wLS lofted down because I was seeing spins over 4000. Wondering if I gamble with a LINQ white or go LS?

247 carry with the 7W yesterday.

It remains hilarious.

Just know, the LS is certainly way lower spinning, but it’s also much much much more demanding than the X is.

That’s amazing.

These DS-Adapt fairway woods continue to be great for me. The 7 wood is 100% my favorite club in the bag. And while I am only getting 175 yards with it, it works great for me.

I’d go for the X 3HF with the LinQ White

I enjoying the DS ADAPT 4 and 5 hybrids much more than the Ai Smoke's they replaced.
Haven't made any adjustments to them yet since they are fitting right where I want them.

I recently ordered the DS Adapt 3 Hybrid and new King Tec 3 Hybrid. Both are great. The King Tec is the hottest hybrid I've ever hit.

Still loving these x 3w and x5w were great for me on course yesterday

So I went back to golf Town and I tried the 3hf model of both the X and the LS.
The X model was a new one in the wrapper that is currently on sale for 300 Canadian or roughly 215-220 USD.
Demo model were on sale for about $50 less but did not include a head cover and truthfully had some rub markings in the crown that were not scratches but where the matte finish sort of looked shiny and I found it kind of bothersome.

All this to say the standard X model had the Denali blue 60 stiff versus the LS with Denali Black '70s stiff.

With the heavy weights up front there is no question that the ls spun significantly less but at the same time combination of the heavier lower launching shaft and the feed bias I found while it was very long it was leaking a bit right on me.

The x3HF was without a doubt more forgiving easier to hit. I got higher ball speeds with it which I was not expecting thinking the titanium head would give that. Yes it did spend more. I'm sure some of that is shaft related. But also there is a half degree difference in loft.

I also experimented by moving one of the weights back in the ls to make it a little more forgiving and it did straighten out the ball flight moving back from the toe. It also brought the spin and launch up to not being that different from the X model maybe only spinning $300 or so less. I suspect I can loft the X down to about 15.8 and get numbers close to the titanium LS but with much more forgiveness.

In any case I now have the X3HF and the 7. Will likely play them somewhere around 16 and 20°.
