Cobra DS-ADAPT Fairways and Hybrids

Should have my 3HF and 7 woods on Monday. Just snagged a 19 hybrid to match for gits and shiggles.

YOU ARE ON FIRE! Hahaha

I really hope these fairways jive with me. Looking forward to them.

I mean…

Having two fairways and a hybrid in a bag ….seems like they’d be lonely…

My 7w should be here in time for me to play my round on Thursday next week.

The DS Adapt Max 9W is my favorite club to hit in my bag. It launches high for me and has enough loft to be very useful out of the rough.

Hoping 7W is here by next Thursday, I’d love to get it out a couple times next week with the powercore in it.

OH SNAP.

FedEx FTW on Father’s Day!

The face depth and shape change from the 3W is so exciting to me.

Those are some good pictures!
I need to get it on the table for some even better ones!

But tomorrow the shaft for it arrives and it’ll be data time!!!

I’m excited.

Really excited to dig into finally dialing in things with the 3W this week. Realistically, I held on to playing the mini a bit too long, but, I’m a hopeless mini driver fanboy.

Very quickly though I remembered what stood out so much about the X 3W and why I went that way over the LS. It’s effortless. The launch is absolutely effortless, but better yet it treats my toe side miss much better than the LS.

Going to work it over at 15, 14, and some other combos in those realms to try and get that bit of flatness I like from this club. WB should help there too.

Adapt X fairways do everything they are supposed to do really well. That is all. 3W off the tee is a fairway finder almost every single time and it is easier to hit than the compact shape presents. Pretty sure I need the 7W

It looks so good standing over the ball. I used it several times today out of the fairway and it was easy launch

I’m eager to see if I hit the moon

Kinda want to go swing the 7W in the garage sim now.

Had my best shot of the round yesterday with @Golf Jones 5 wood. Only difference is his has a TPT 17/Lo in it.

215 out on a par 5. A little hurt wind. Water left (my miss side). Threw an absolute dart to 15 foot that put on the breaks 5 foot from its ball mark.

Maybe the best shot I’ve hit with a fairway wood in my entire life.

If I can ever afford it, I’ll be putting TPT in both of my fairway woods

Something I'm not certain that I've touched on much, but I noticed during the round today:

I love hitting these fairways out of the fairway and off the tee, but I hadn't really hit them much out of deep rough. This afternoon I found myself 225 yds out, about 3' off the left side of the fairway after not quite cutting the corner of the dogleg, and buried enough in the rough that I could only see the top of the golf ball when standing over it. I was a little nervous as to whether the X 7w would struggle cutting through the thick grass, but it absolutely did not. The golf ball rocketed off the face, landed on the front of the green, rolled by the pin, and off the back having gone 238 yds. I honestly think I was a little surprised by the performance there, but I probably shouldn't have been. I feel like the more I throw at these fairways, the better they respond. I would prefer to not have to hit from the heavy rough very often, but I am sure impressed by the way the X 7w handles it!

I had this discussion with @Scooby45 yesterday. He asked me when I consider hitting a fairway wood versus a hybrid. And I told him that I won’t hit a fairway wood if I can’t see the back of the ball. And in those cases, I hit hybrid.

Maybe I should reconsider that or at least give it a try with these fairway woods.

From the moment it left the face, the only question was how close it would finish. It was a peach of a golf shot.

That's usually my mindset, but I was so curious as I walked up to this shot today. I know that one shot is hard to draw conclusions from, but the experiment at least went well enough for me to try it again in the future. I lost a bit of peak height, but was still able to clear the top of a mature tree between the green and I. I didn't try to elevate it and really, if I'm being honest, didn't try to step on it. Center contact and it just took off.

Echoing @That post, but the DS Adapt woods with the TPT power fairway shafts has been wonderfully consistent and a real pleasure.
