It hasn’t been quite two years since Cobra released the LIMIT3D irons, which were the first commercially available 3D-printed irons. The initial launch of these irons remains seared into my memory as one of the most fascinating iron-technology stories told. True to Cobra’s style, that first batch of 500 irons led to a full release […]

Great writeup @ddec !!!

Here we go folks - Can’t wait to see these new models in person!!!

“However, the new 3DP MB irons could change that, as Cobra believes these clubs offer enough forgiveness for golfers with handicaps of up to 10 to use comfortably”

Oh My God Wow GIF

Look away @Muchmore 😂

Another impressive feature:

“Thanks to this internal design, Cobra can incorporate up to 100 grams of tungsten in the heel and toe of the irons, enhancing stability and lowering the center of gravity.”

100 grams is a ton of weight to move around - I’m assuming that is for the X, with the MB being a little less. Seriously impressive stuff.

Strong work as always @ddec

I’ve yet to see these in person. The X head should be one of the most forgiving heads ever.

$2K for at set :)

I'm in love

Great article, loved it, got me thinking, especially the line about the decline of Blades on the tour. I wonder how many lets say, more experienced tour players getting closer to that champions tour age might want to give these a try to maintain a certain look while getting some playing advantage.

Man they sure do look amazing - need to make it a point to find a way to hit these- well done @ddec

Great writeup @ddec ! That's crazy about the MB and forgiveness aspect!!!

Awesome article @ddec

Wish I could make it to GG today to hit the them!

Really cool. So you say printing is faster and there were 250 sets produced a month, how's that compare to normal production?

The MBs look amazing, but those X irons sound like they're going to be incredible. The Tours are already super forgiving so I can't imagine what they were able to squeeze into a bigger footprint. Doesn't hurt that they look great too. It's also nice to see the price coming down on these 3dp sets.

Nice write-up, Dean. I am fascinated by the internal lattuce structure. That is a ton of weight savings. @ChrisATL makes sense if it was X for 100 grams. That is quite a lot to move around.

@ddec did Cobra talk at all about the lie angle with the X irons? If I am reading things correctly, it looks like they built them upright from the get-go?

Pretty sure thats the same as the 3DPs that are out already

What a great article @ddec

The MB and the X look great! Forgiving and not chasing speed sounds like something that suits me very well right now!!!

Fantastic write up @ddec and damn those are some sexy irons. The 3D printing process is so fascinating to me!!!

They look amazing, the tech is amazing, and the price reflects that. I might be able to get a set of MB in the bag in 5 years when these are affordable.

Great write up @ddec. The X version would be my first to hit.

“It offers a size comparable to Cobra’s Forged Tec X while providing forgiveness that surpasses Cobra’s current super game-improvement irons.”

That is a large statement. 👀

I love the look of all three but the X could be the unsung hero of the group. Def need to hit all three

My eyebrows raised reading that line

I agree. I've been most excited for the X, especially for long irons

The ability to build different versions of the 3DP irons is simply amazing. Even the 3DP X iron which is on par forgiveness wise with the biggest SGI iron doesn't not look like a SGI iron at all. I love how all 3 irons keep the same look and let me tell you they feel fantastic!

So i'm pretty sure that the 100 grams of tungsten is for the 3DP Tour. I believe the X is less as they are comparing to what would already be a hollow body design so they would have less weight to move. Though the Cobra website does say for the X:
