Cobra Expands 3DP: New 3DP MB & 3DP X Irons Announced

So jealous. My recoil darts are on back order. Expected to be available around the 23rd. Then a few days to build. So hopefully will get the 3DP X by February.

Stinks now, but it will be worth it in the end buddy!

Ok. The box was definitely all jacked up, but everything was fine inside. They even included a box of pro V 1!

My initial impressions are very good. Very similar size to the tour perhaps maybe slightly bigger. Top line is definitely thicker, but not by an extra extraordinary amount. Quality is top notch.

This flu is kicking my ass so I’m going to get some rest and then bang out a couple shots in my simView attachment 9404490View attachment 9404491View attachment 9404492View attachment 9404493View attachment 9404494View attachment 9404495View attachment 9404497

Box = no bueno, but those clubs look amazing. Congrats on the new set!!

*side note- feel better soon!

Goodness gracious. These x irons are soooo freaking good. I have them paired with mmt 85s and they are absolutely perfect for me. Spin is right where it needs to be, I gained between 10-25 yards( depending on the club) and they are super forgiving. Ive never had these type of gains from irons before, including the Ti fusion and fusion 250s.

Going to keep testing but my preliminary impression is that these are by far the best irons I had ever used. Worth every penny
Realize it’s early but- you’ve hit the TI Fusions- and outside of distance gains, how was dispersion/feel in comparison?

Feel wise, similar. Perhaps the fusions felt a little softer but that’s strictly anecdoctal.

Dispersion wise, I wouldn’t be a good judge of that. I’m in the midst of reworking my swing so it’s all over the place currently.

My feedback thus far is strictly based off of forgiveness and distance, where these irons come out way ahead of anything I have used. It’s actually significant and very noticeable.

My issue now is that I need to rework my bag because my woods and wedges were based off my previous distances.

Thanks for the feedback!! Looking forward to how they work out for you as you navigate the swing change and bag changes.

As someone with ti250s you have my attention sir.
As someone who also has an eye on the Ti250s this has my rapt attention

So I posted this in the Cobra Classic thread but I’ll drop it here as well. Roger Dunn had all 3 heads tonight so I took a few swings. I’m in love. First pic is my first swing with then MB. Numbers make me look better than I think I am but damn this club was surprisingly easy to hit, and consistently. This had $-Taper 120 stiff and it felt so smooth.

Second pic was the Tour with DG Mid 100 Stiff. Still really easy to hit. I’d need a full fitting before I bought anything but very good chance I’m getting new irons at some point this year

Just hand em your CC now…

I wonder if "surprisingly easy to hit despite profile" will have the predicted impact on decision making, or whether players will really lean into the potential to play something similar in size to what they currently play with the added benefit of the tech.

Are you in my head right now? This is the debate I am having. That, and knowing loft is my friend so maybe the Tour over the X

That was my initial thought when learning more about the 3 profiles. I think I would go with same size and more forgiveness, and grab the 3DPX

Need to hit them again with the same shift to really compare but I thought the smaller profile would be a deterrent but I would have no issue gaming the mb

I won't be in your head anywhere near as much as these irons will, I don't think.

But, what a freaking cool discussion to have. We've spent decades talking about playing the most forgiving club you can stand to look at, and it seems like Cobra has introduced a product that says "nah, we'll take care of your tiny brain syndrome" lmao

Do you think that’s the right call for you?
(seems that way based on those numbers imho)

does it feel weird to be the smartest person in the room?

I'm going to ask a different question..

Would you have an issue gaming the Tours?

@jdtox - you spent a fair bit of time with the X when we were at HQ last year - Is that the kind of head you'd see in the bag, or would you be the kind of guy who would lean Tours or better with your move?

The numbers looked ridiculously optimal, but hitting bay to on course decision making always seems to get a bit fuzzy.

That’s the crazy part right there, the fact that they’ve packed all that forgiveness into a smaller footprint is nuts to me.
