Cobra Expands 3DP: New 3DP MB & 3DP X Irons Announced

The Cobra 3DP X irons are not disappointing. I’ve been playing a decent amount of Sim Golf on SkyTrak since getting them and man I’m super excited for 2026. These irons are just super consistent. I’m still using a good amount of the club face on my irons as I’m not a good ball striker, but the consistency that I’m seeing form distances is fantastic. The feel is very nice all over the face, super nice and solid. Such a good sounding iron as well, getting a nice thwack at impact. If I put a decent swing on these I’m getting a solid result. Can’t say enough good things.

In person, the X look so much smaller than in photos you shared. It's winning my ponder right now. I picked up the 4 iron off the BST to get a better feel for it.

They are absolutely fantastic.

I tried lining them all up with my current 7 iron, 718 AP2, but it was kind of hard to get a good picture with the guy hovering over me.

The last shafts just arrived, so I’ve finally got a full set of MBs

I'm having so much fun with the 3DP X's playing course play on Skytrak. These are coming out doing exactly what my DS Adapt Max irons did for me. I am coming up with the same distances so there hasn't been much adjustment, just getting used to a new look at setup. The forgiveness is still there as I'm still exploring large portions of the face. The sound/feel is fantastic. It's still me swinging them so I am still fighting some pulls here and there when I get quick at the top but when I put a good swing I get good results, and the consistency in distances is remarkable for a smaller iron head than what I am used to.

Welcome 9 and P to the team! How does the P look size and flow wise into your GW?

When practicing are you finding with the wider sole / bounce to give a consistent strike location high/low on the face?

I'm in super ponder mode on the X still. When I hit the 7i I was carrying it very far and decent angle was good but spin was 4500. If I played them, I'd want to possibly go 2* weak but I'm concerned with my 4* down AoA I would possibly get inconsistent strikes. It's probably in my head as I hit my 7w 2* down and don't have any issues with strike hight/low on the face.

The sole on these is much thinner than what i'm used to playing in the DS Adapt Max and i'm not having any issues with the soles of the X.

Thanks man, I feel practicing indoors really gives a good picture for worst case turf on course, if you're striking fine I'm feeling positive. I have the 4 iron coming in tomorrow that is already 2* weak. I'll bend the lie angle flat and put some intimate time in with the club to get a good feel.

The P is drying. I will shoot some pics tomorrow. That said, my 50/54/58 wedges are Cleveland RTZ. Don't have a 3DP gap wedge.

You didn't happen to ask if they have lefty heads did ya?

Fingers crossed we get to play together this year, and you can hit mine!

How have your land angles been between the 3dpx and the DS-Adapt Max so far?

Oh I'll hit the MBs but there is a 0% chance I would game them lol. Fingers crossed big time!

A touch shallower with the X generally in the 38 - 42 degree range, where the Max generally stayed 40 - 43 degrees. But pretty comparable. With my swing they end up pretty close and i'd say the variation is more with my delivery than the club performance.

Local Golfdom does not have lefty heads :( the search continues

So I got a chance this weekend to spend more time with the X model locally.
I came away so impressed its insane.
They packed a ton into it and honestly it is not as large as I believe people think.

That's the impression I walked away with, they look so small in person compared to what my mind thought they would be. And the sole looks no bigger than my favorite i25 irons. I have the 4i coming tomorrow, I really think this is where I land, maybe just pair it with a ball with more spin to get a little more mental control.

If you were to play the X, would you be going standard loft or 2* weak.

My dad and I went to the local golf store on Saturday to hit some of the new Cobra stuff. I wanted to hit the 3DP Tours and X. I told my dad to try the X out. He was hitting the 7i pretty good with better height and spin numbers than his current irons. Distance was similar to maybe 5 yards longer.

Unfortunately the guy took the X 7i away so I didn’t get to hit it (dad and I were in bays next to each other). I tried the tours with a KBS graphite shaft as I’ve been having some nagging soreness in my forearms and wrists lately. That simply did not work as ball speed and distance dropped considerably. Put a steel shaft in and boom the numbers jumped back to what I was used to. For me they are about the same distance wise as my Forged Tec’s but the feel is better. They also hold their distance and line better on mishits.

I was super impressed when hitting them! Just so easy to launch and get distance. And looking down on them, you'd never know how forgiving they are. It really is an insane product.

3DP MBs are awesome. Just finished my first sim session using the full iron set (5-P). Zero regrets!

3DP X's are definitely fun. Not large at all, really comparable to the King Tec X's in size in my opinion. Ball flight seems more in line with the King Tec, and forgiveness in the area of the DS Adapts. Honestly these irons are just special.
